Hey I just wanna say it's refreshing to see this exchange between you and @ChristsSoldier0033. The gentle admonition and the humble reception are exemplary of how the body of Christ should work. Blessings.
It's the proof of the Holy Spirit sister, the same Spirit works in both of us agreeing with Himself in ourselves. This is a good example of the communion of The Holy Spirit a gentle admonition and edification of the body in Christ with love.

I obviously have a broken heart at the moment. So when I feel like this new woman who made this thread is trying to lure me into a obviously overwhelming experience, it troubles me.

Having @ChristsSoldier0033 come out of no where and resemble Christ completely, was super refreshing and an absolute blessing from God.
Funny thing is it was the Holy Spirit that led me to respond to you in the first place. To say God will lead you to your wife. All glory goes to God Who used His humble vessel this day.

A Christian dating show idea where you can potentially meet your spouse? Without giving away all the details, this would be done prayerfully with biblical knowledge and it would be used as a platform God would use to connect you to your forever person.
Credit for trying to think outside the box, but I would wonder how entertaining it would be.
Part of the popularity of dating shows, even back in the 70s, was that they were often funny. And often had some innuendo, which was seen as part of the humor. And current ones are basically just sexual.
I imagine Christians on something similar would make for a boring show to watch.

Like Sub, I like the idea of thinking outside of the box.

I'd be interested in hearing what the format for a show like this would be?

I'm a firm believer in God using different mediums in different ways for His purpose.

When I mention that over the years, I've met about 20 people from this site in person, a lot of other people think it's crazy and will firmly tell others NEVER to meet anyone off the internet.

I totally understand the concerns -- it's certainly not for everyone, and I've just been very blessed that I haven't had a bad experience.

But I was writing pen-and-paper letters to strangers (pen pals) since I was a kid, with no thought of something like the internet even in existence (so I couldn't look up their background info,) and met my first letter-to-real life friend in person when I was 15.

Another pen pal from Japan came to visit with her best friend, with everything set up through letters that took 2-3 weeks to arrive each way -- not a single phone call. And it was a splendid visit, so now I do the same thing, just over the internet.

I'm all for the possibility of exploring the ways that God can use every means available to connect people.

i don’t trust any new member who creates a thread with an obviously tempting social media subject line, trying to lure Christians into sinful behavior. If they are going to try and tempt you here, they will try and tempt you in the real world as well. Just look at her profile picture, obvious party girl vibes. A I go to church on Sunday but f God all week, I do what I want kinda “Christian”.

i’ve been around the block.
I am a married woman of God with children and I've been to one club my entire life so please refrain from judging me by appearance. You're totally off.

It would be impossible to avoid temptation and evil in this world. But if she be a sinner or not I don't know. I don't know her from Adam. I can't judge off looks but fruits like Jesus said, a good tree bear good fruits but a bad tree bears bad fruits. A good tree cannot bear bad nor a bad good(Reference Matthew 7:15-20) . I love her regardless and am glad she's here. From what was posted it doesn't really tell me about her lifestyle but that she probably really like dating shows and would want it to reflect Christ. But in this world most dating shows don't. So i can see why people think the way they think. Most dating show couples don't last because it is usually based off of lust and surface level attractions rather than true genuine love. But as a Christian we date to marry. We court women. So finding someone to marry on this show would be hard given that it is the Holy Spirit that guides the man to find his wife. And the Holy Spirit to guide the woman to accept the man. It may take only the first episode or it may drag on for years before God bring them together in His divine will( Read the story of Jacob finding his wife Rachel in Genesis) Plus not all believers will get married. Marriage is not a commandment nor our duty on earth. We are not in the genesis times. Our sole duty and blessing is to serve Christ and be found as His. Anything else is extra grace on top of grace what God has for our lives on earth.
Thank you for your kind response, God bless you.

There's one in every group. You get used to it after a while.

1. have a "20 questions" test in which potential date has to answer all 20 correctly., that is 20 Bible questions. 2. potential date must recite 12 Biblical verses. 3. lastly, must name 30 pastors.

Is that last one legit what you require of a potential date?

Because I would definitely fail it. I'm bad with names. And I don't know that many pastors anyway. Why would I?

yes! because it shows even more someone's involvement in Christianity.

Oh I wanted to hear out some views on this kind of thing and if anyone is interested. I'm not sure if anyone has seen those "pop the balloon" YouTube video's streaming, but I've noticed some Christians appearing on the show and was wondering if there was a Christian version for believers if it would be better for us to view or used as an avenue to make kingdom connections.
So you're here looking for participants in a "reality" type streaming show?
So are you the producer?

1.) If you ARE the producer, you should be aware it's against site policy to promote products here... and a show is just a media product.
2.) If you are NOT the producer, why are you here talking about a show you have no control over, and which has nothing to do with you?

- So are you, or are you not, the producer?
- If you are not the producer (or the mktg staff) why are you here doing mktg research for this hypothetical show which doesn't exist and would have nothing to do with you unless you were the producer or the marketing staff?

The problem is that while this CAN be a measure of one's spiritual knowledge and involvement, it can also wind up being just a screen for those who are really good at memorizing and regurgitating information.

It tells you nothing about whether or not they apply it.

I was in an Assemblies of God church that would get very excited about pastors and leaders involved in this or that revival or movement. I went to look up these names years later -- and some of the most prominent ones had left their spouses for younger, better-looking members of their ministry teams. The names of pastors or "big names" in the ministry have never meant much to me.

As for memorizing passages and Bible trivia, I was raised in Lutheran schools since my parents got me at 6 months old (I am adopted.) So I was taught to memorize Scripture all my life, but for some reason, my mind remembers key words and phrases, not entire verses with references.

I will often text @Lynx and @cinder, saying, "Hey guys, I'm thinking of a passage about..." and it's not a matter of whether they know it -- it's a matter of whoever has the time to answer first. Along with knowing exactly what I'm talking about, they also often reference other related passages I had overlooked.

I knew a guy in his 20's who was also raised in church, and his Bible was so marked up with notes and study marks that you'd think he was a seminary student. I have no doubt he could pass your tests, and answer far more questions and recite many more passages than your requirements.

But he had an issue with self-control, and was raised in big cities where you could find anything your sinful nature was curious about. Although he was only in his mid-20's, he'd already lost count of his number of sexual partners because he loved going to clubs where you could find anything you wanted, and one of his particular interests was in groups and multiples.

He would try to get away from the scene; be ok for a few months; then relapse back into it. And even if he didn't go back to the clubs, there was always some kind of pornographic source to soothe his addiction.

I quickly found that as much as I wanted to be supportive, I cannot date someone like this. I empathize with anyone struggling with this and I would do my best to be an encouraging friend, but it could go no further than that, or it would start to destroy my mental health with insecurity.

Knowing the Bible and who's preaching it doesn't always have much connection with being able to put it into practice.

This is a crucial element your tests would be missing entirely (though I realize for a show or public entertainment, questions like sexual past would be way too personal and would have to be asked in private.)

How in anyway does it sound like I’m promoting in here? Did I post a flyer or any kind of website? Or social media to follow? I’m literally asking believers opinions on this view, why are you interrogating me.

VERY STRANGE THREAD

You came here, out of the blue, and asked people if they'd be interested in a "christian dating show."

It's natural for us to ask what you're doing.

Are you creating a new show??
Are you the producer?
You wouldn't be here asking these things for no reason... they aren't pure hypotheticals.
It's obvious you're either doing mktg research, or you're trying to find participants for the show.
So which is it?
What exactly are you doing?
If you're here talking about a show, it's natural for us to ask about your relationship to that show.

So, why can't you answer questions?
You can come here and ASK us questions, but you can't ANSWER questions?
If you can't answer questions, it's very suspicious.

1. Are you here looking for participants, or are you just doing marketing research?
2. Are you the producer, mktg staff, or something else?
3. What is your relationship to the show, and what stage is it in?

If you are capable of ASKING questions, then you are capable of ANSWERING questions.
And why are you so defensive about answering questions?
