How to use flowers of sulphur

What is flowers of sulphur?

Flowers Of Sulphur (FOS) is also known as yellow sulphur (sulfur) powder, is a bright yellow powder obtained from naturally-occurring volcanic brimstone deposits.
FOS is a natural mineral that has been used as a remedy for centuries. In ancient texts such as the bible it is called brimstone, and 2,000 years ago it was used as a remedy for skin disorders and other ailments.
You can buy flowers of sulphur at pet shops and animal stock feed stores. Farmers, those with animal stock, and pet breeders have used it for many decades, but the pharmaceutical and medical industries prefer that people do not know about it. It is too cheap and too effective.
When you look at Flowers of Sulphur under a microscope the crystals resemble flowers, hence the name.
Flowers of sulphur is not the same as MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), which is also a source of sulphur.
Sources of sulphur for health

Sulphur is a critical nutrient that is neglected an all but forgotten, even though it is the eighth most common element by mass in the human body. Surprisingly, there is no recommended Minimum Daily Requirement (MDR) for sulphur. Even though sulphur is basically ignored in nutritional circles, it is nonetheless a critical nutrient and one that is necessary for vibrant health and prevention of many degenerative diseases.
Those countries with the highest levels of sulphur in the soil, and whose people eat sulphur-rich foods, tend to have the healthiest populations. Greece, Italy and Japan are the primary suppliers of sulphur to the rest of the world, and they enjoy some of the lowest rates of heart disease and obesity. Their people also enjoy some of the longest lives on the planet.
The people who live traditional lives on volcanic islands such as Iceland and Indonesia, have remarkably low rates of depression, obesity, diabetes, heart disease and many other degenerative diseases. Some scientists thought that the Icelandic diet was protective against these diseases because of a high intake of fish, but further research showed that those Icelanders who moved to Canada and continued eating a lot of fish did not continue to enjoy the same low rates of these diseases.
Foods for sulphur. Egg yolks are the richest food source of sulphur. Many plant foods such as onions, garlic and cabbage contain sulphur, but the amount of sulphur is low unless the plants are grown in sulphur-rich soil.
Vitamin D and cholesterol. Healthy, non-burning sun exposure (with no sunscreen) helps your body make vitamin D in a sulphate form. While vitamin D is normally considered fat-soluble, vitamin D3 sulfate is actually water-soluble, which lets the sulphate form of vitamin D travel freely in the blood stream. Note: the vitamin D3 in supplements is not the same as the vitamin D3 you get from the sun and is not an adequate substitute.
Sunlight-exposed skin also produces large amounts of healthy and beneficial cholesterol sulfate.
Flowers of sulphur uses / properties / remedies / treatments

Flowers of sulphur is an antiseptic and antifungal. It is suitable for use on humans, animals, vegetables, fruits, flowers and as a gardening additive in the soil. It is safe to ingest in the correct quantities provided it comes from a reputable source.

  • Skin. Dry, scaly, itchy, red skin. Relieves itching, reduces scratching.
    Eczema, dermatitis.
    Psoriasis.
    Scabies.
Fungal infections such as ringworm, athlete's foot and jock itch.
    Treats and heals nappy/diaper rash.
  • Metabolic Syndrome. Sulphur is critical to many of the body's biological processes. Without adequate sulphur, glucose metabolism is inhibited. You become glucose intolerant, energy is low, and all manner of skeletal and muscle disorders arise with pain and inflammation. This can lead to metabolic syndrome and weight gain. When sulphur deficiency occurs with a low fat diet, the problem becomes more serious as the additional sugars present in a low fat diet are converted to fat and released into the bloodstream as triglycerides which raise the risk of heart disease.
  • Alzheimer's disease. An analysis of the minerals present in the cells of a typical Alzheimer's patient reveals that sulphur is almost non-existent compared with healthy people. Some research has shown that supplementing with sulphur can prevent Alzheimer's and even reverse it if the patient is still in the early stages where little brain damage has occurred. Could it be that the dramatic increase in Alzheimer's in recent years is caused by low-sulphur diets, in particular the avoidance of egg yolks?
  • Arthritis.
  • Digestive complaints. Relieves the tendency to regurgitate food, vomiting and chronic diarrhoea.
  • Pre-menstrual syndrome.
  • Candida.
  • Haemorrhoids; redness and itching around the anus.
  • Anal fissures.
  • Ulcers. Dab some on a mouth ulcer (canker), it removes all the soreness and promotes fast healing.
  • Sore throat. A quarter teaspoon in a warm water gargle will quickly heal a sore throat.
  • Antiseptic. Kills bacteria and fungi on the skin. Can be applied to wounds, cuts and grazes.
  • Lice. Kills and repels head lice and pubic lice.
  • Mites. Treats all kinds of mites including demodex skin mites.
  • Insect protection (chiggers/mites, fleas, mosquitos). Douse your legs and shoes with powdered sulfur before walking through grass or bush and you will remain bite free.
  • Mental problems. Helps with mental stress, lack of energy and willpower.
  • Bronchitis.
  • Sciatica. Dust the affected limb with powder and wrap warmly. Sweating should be followed by a reduction in pain.
  • Hair. Aids hair growth, assists healthy hair.
  • Nails. Healthy, fast-growing nails.Animals
  • FOS treats most skin complaints in pets and farm animals. It kills and repels fleas, tics, mites and lice. Treats skin allergies, mange and scabies.
  • Horses. Good for sweet itch, mud fever and skin complaints.
  • Bees. The parasite varroa destructor mite that attacks bees may be prevented or treated with yellow sulphur, though this is not a proven remedy and further research and testing is needed.
  • Ants. Pour a trail around an ants nest, sulphur is a safe way to eradicate ants.
How to use flowers of sulphur

You can apply flowers of sulphur directly to your skin as a dry powder. Shake it on, rub it in, or use a powder puff or a flour shaker. Use it like talcum powder (note: Grow Youthful does not recommend talcum powder as it is harmful to both skin and lungs).
When using it on your skin, test it with a small quantity at first, and then use whatever quantity seems to be effective for your particular situation.
Flowers of sulphur can be used internally, and traditionally it is taken with molasses (treacle). A small pinch, less than the size if a match head, is mixed with a teaspoon of molasses and that is suficient dose for one day. Normally it is not taken for more than three days in a row. When used internally it has a mild laxative effect. Warning - test with very small amounts before taking yellow sulfur internally. A very few people react strongly to it.
You can mix FOS with skin oils and skin creams, for use on your own skin, also for pets, farm animals and poultry.
To make an ointment, use coconut oil, palm oil, petroleum jelly, olive oil, cocoa butter or any other skin oil as you need. Slowly warm the oil to melt it, add 2 or 3 tablespoons of sulphur powder to a cup of oil, mix well and allow to cool.
Animals. To use Flowers of sulphur in their fur, mix 1 part Flowers of Sulphur with 2 parts talcum powder. Part the coat and rub in gently on body, head and back of ears. Make sure you are in a ventilated area as talc powder is damaging to your lungs. If you use neat Flowers of Sulphur without adding talcum powder on cats and some other animals, it makes their coats (fur) very dry and brittle resulting in breakage.
You can add FOS powder to animal's food. However it is difficult to add to their water as it tends to float rather than dissolve in the water.

yeah you have to be careful with that stuff, and i would not eat it.
so not all the info is good about it, and i would not feed it to animals.

Some people i know have ate it, but no more than than half a matchstick head dose mixed with treacle, they experienced saw eyes for days some of the information here i would not trust,.

but it cures athletes foot in no time it cured mine, not much worry about the bottom of your feet. for best result mix 3 tablespoon of the sulfur to 1/3 of cup coconut oil melted, leave it over night and it sets in to a hard ointment, apply to the bottom of your feet every morning really good for athletes foot cure. your athletes foot will cure in less than a week.
you will notice dead skin come of, that's normal an that's the dead skin and infection dieing.

I apply it to cut and grazes to and it works well for me, sometimes i do get a little red patch, which goes, but rather i got that than an infection. (but just the smallest amounts of ointment when applying to a cut and it will sting) one bag of sulfur should last you a life time.

also cures nail fungus, mix the sulfur with vicks vapor rub apply every morning to your infected toe nail and before bed, your nail fungus will be gone in not time, providing you keep your nails shaved to the skin. may take a few weeks depending on how bad the fungus is, as some can get deep rooted.

not saying you have these things lol but you never know you could get them one day.

I found that to get to the root cause of the sores, it is the lack of oxygen to the area. I had to resort to hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Strengthening the veins supplying oxygen, and helps for blood circulation has kept the sores away.

I have had the most help with whatever chemical it is in lemon peel. I put whole lemons in my vitamix and have two tablespoon of this daily. It didn't take long for it to strength the veins. I also put fresh ginger in the vitamix with some water and add this to the lemon drink. I also have a powerful vibrator. My doctor says it doesn't help, but experience says it does.

my husband and I are avid gardeners,
we live out in the countryside and grow a lot
of our own food and are blessed to have several
local organic coops nearby.

a few years ago while tilling the soil by hand in one
of our beds, I came into contact with an animal bacteria
that started to eat the flesh on my inside wrist, it was quite
painful and scary at the time.

the way that I completely healed this pestilence was to soak
a pad with 'pure tea tree oil' and put it directly on the wound,
changing the pad everyday.
this proceeded to burn/out the bacteria little-by-little every day.
I had to keep the pad just on the wound and not the outer skin
as this would burn the good skin surrounding the wound.

the results were 100% healing and no scar.

hope this helps.

for post #30 I may have mentioned moist wound healing. Want to mention that if done wrong, it may delay the healing process. I don't really know much about how this works and now have mixed feelings about it.....

Hi

I have also read that dairy and night shades vegetables (all peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, eggplant) can contribute to inflammation.

Yes take a good quality multivitamin that contains pro-biotics if you can get it.

A gentle exfoliation on the skin to help the skin remove old skin.

Aloe vera I have used this for many skin problems and it works.

Shea Butter can probably lighten it.

Tea tree or flowers of sulphur as was suggested.

Coconut Oil

But as I'm not an expert and these are things I've read and have used and get good results you can look it up.

Ginger is good for inflammation.
