Get it out on the stove , warm you from the tip of your head to your toes ;)...xox...
Oatmeal does that too. Not the instant kind you stick in a microwave oven but the kind that you cook on top of a stove. Preferably Quaker Oats. Good comfort food for a rainy day.

What are vernaculars?
The language that is spoken by common people in a particular country or region. A lot of peeps have their own personal vernacular. I like to use the word 'vehicular' instead of vernacular when I sometimes explain what I mean in a posy. That word confuses the peeps an is quite amusing, at least it is to me. Of course, vehicular refers to various means of motor transport and that word is part of my vernacular as well. :)

Read your profile, beautiful description of your garden experiences! Same here! I did not anticipate the level of meditation and revelation I received from being in the garden! Everything is a lesson, a portal through which to learn from Him. One thing after another is clarified there. :) :)

Hi all...
I thought I would make this thread hoping to encourage those who are interested in juicing for health reasons , like detoxing the body , giving your organs a rest , or looking to lose some extra pounds that we want shifting...

I am type 2 diabetic , and have been for the past six years , and I have gone from eating junk food to plant based eating thrown in with junk food in my eating plan , now after years of crying because I have failed so many times , I have been led by a brother on CC who has kindly led me on a strict eating plan through Gods leading , and I have to say for the first time in six years living with this chronic disease , my blood sugar levels are dropping , and I have lost 8lbs , all the glory to God most high...

I eat one main meal a day , usually at 5.30pm , and eat nothing after 6.pm , my night time snacking was a big downfall for me...
I wake up normally 6.30am and drink raw ginger & Tumeric root ( using my juicer ) followed by a green juice of veg...

I am on a journey to get this diabetes into remission , so I thought if I make this thread , it will help me also to keep track of my journey and share with you my juices and ingredients ...

Yesterday , I prayed nearly all morning before I saw my doctor , I never know which doctor I am about to see , but I sure did need someone who was going to help me , and not tell me the usual that I will need meds all my life , and scare me with the horrors towards the grave , and God so blessed me with a lovely young doctor who said " keep on keeping on " and was full of encouragement...

Well here is my juice for mid morning , watermelon with some fresh strawberries that I put into a mold and froze... View attachment 199322 View attachment 199323
Be aware that juicing ought not become a habit. Separating the fibers leaves a hazardous ratio of sugar carbs that are naturally shileded by the fiber. Fruit and vegetable fiber along with the juice is more nutritional, and a lot lighter carbohydrate load and index when eating whole foods. Try to add the pulp back into the juice!

I am getting my fiber , the fiber that seperates from the juice is what expels from our body when we eat the fruit/veg...
I am healing my body at the moment , so I am on one meal a day , I get enough fiber throughout the day ...

Being diabetic type 2 , my blood sugar levels have never been better in these past 5 weeks , and my doctor has also backed me up , as for the pulp , I make a broth for my homemade soup , and warm drinks on cold days , I do not think most people understand the great benefits of juicing , and how much it heals the body , I love it...xox...

Woke up unusually early this morning , and I am thinking I may be suffering with the tiredness...
I helped my daughter yesterday , clearing out the childrens bedroom , it was hard work , but they have all just got over a very bad tummy bug , I hope I have not caught it...
I drank some pure ginger with hot water , and a cup of peppermint tea , and it really helped with with my tummy ache ...
Had to go dentist but they changed my appointment , so I went into the healthstore and the man made me a nice hot bowl of porridge , I needed something hot...
I have my appointment today at 12.noon to see my gym instructor , my doctor has kindly offered me a place for 3 months to use the gym and swim , she is supporting me on my juicing/healing journey , praise God for all His kindness , I truly love Him...
To be honest , I could just curl up under the duvet and nap on & off , but I shall wait till I am back from gym...

The only ingredient I'm unsure of is the "Sweet five spice"
What is it? (made up of what spices?) The only 5 spice I am aware of is Chinese 5 spice (also all I can find on google even with "sweet" in the search words) which is made up of ground cloves, cinnamon, fennel seeds, star anise, and Szechuan pepper.

Rose,
Keep up the great work you are doing for yourself! I'm so glad you have a supportive Dr.
My daily food/drink choices have become better because nearly every time I reach for something, something you've posted comes to mind. Both from your words and beautiful pictures! You are such an inspiration!

I use a juicer occasionally whenever we rarely fall short of whole fruits and vegetables. Our Diabetes 2 is under control through diet, except when traveling when I go from a range of 85-102 to 150-180 on trips eating out along the route. Our problem with juicing is immediate weight gain from the high glycemic response of freed-up sugars. The second issue is getting a "sugar high" for an hour then the following "sugar low', which messes up a 2-3 hour sleepy block of the day when drinking juices. There are several hazards linked to juicing you should know about. Look at Dangers of Juicing which is at https://www.livestrong.com/article/94618-dangers-juicing/ There are interesting side bar references packed with more information.

Yes it is cinnamon , nutmeg , ginger , cardinol and I cannot remember the other one , could be cloves , but it gives it that ginger taste like ginger bread but not as strong , very healthy for you because they are all natural and grounded down to powder...xox...

Thank you so much GG , you have no idea how much your words encourage me...
Not all believe in what I am doing , a few have come up against me claiming juicing is harmful , but I put that down to lack of knowledge...
Yes I am so thankful that God has given me a lovely doctor , I actually prayed hard about this because my surgery has about 10 doctors , and most of them I have seen just want to add to my meds , but this one I am seeing wants me to work towards coming off them , I feel so blessed in more ways than one...xox...

Hi swordsman...
This may be true for some , but not me...
In these past 5 weeks , my sugar levels have dropped drastically...I test myself 4 times a day , I am now more in the 5/6/7/8 , I used to be in the 11/12/13/14/15/16 , so juicing has had a big affect on my life for the better...

I have tried everything going to help reduce my blood sugar , but it just kept going up , than more tabs , then the next stage would of been insulin , and then the effects of numbness , losing sight , amputations follow most who do not keep it under control , so juicing is my last chance , and if I stuck to the guide lines that the doctors told me to by eating what they suggested , I would be heading for an early grave ...

When I juice my green veg/fruits 4 times a day , I am drinking my food far more than I could ever eat by mouth in one day , I have also lost 10lbs , I look forward to my new blood test in 7 weeks time...xox...

Greetings Rosemaryx,

It is worthy of mention that your own desire to work your way free from the clutches of the pharmaceutical system is a blessing indeed! So many have not yet come to the place where you are. The pharmaceutical industry is one of the largest commercial ventures in the world. They rely on repeat business, so, they design their drugs to maintain a persons illness or condition while alleviating the symptoms. What you are doing is invigorating you own body to heal itself. And while doing it your healthy recipies with pictures are inspiring me! Besides making my mouth water, ;) I made up some Butternut last evening thanks to you! :) Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much SimpleGardner , your words are a blessing to me...
It can be a very lonely journey when people come up against me , which a few have , but I am at the stage with this disease where I can turn things around which God has set before me...
I love the verse in the bible where God Himself says in Genesis 1:29 Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you;

This encourages me so much , and to be honest , I was broken down with this diabetes because I have tried everything , I have ate the foods that the medics said to eat , they made me sicker , then I ate low carb high fat , it did nothing , so now I am healing over eating my food orally , the juice from the veg/fruits are so powerful , and they are replacing good healthy cells...

I have watched full docs where people have been taken away to an island with docs permission , with all their meds , many with all diff diseases , and over half came back after just one month med free , although some came back still on meds , but not as much as they took with them , even people who were suffering so much in pain was so happy they went , because their pain subsided tremendously , and no matter what blind study papers are show , the proof is in the making , and these people have now changed their lives forever , praise God...xox...
