Ok everyone, I admit, I'm a big wimp.

I tried those sheet mask things but I can't stand them... They almost give me a panic attack because I literally feel like I'm being suffocated in them. To me, it's essentially having your face smothered in a wet towel.

If y'all have discovered the fountain of youth in those sheet masks... Sadly, I'm going to miss out.

I may look old someday... But I take being able to breathe very seriously!

P.S. My ex-husband actually really liked skincare products. He always told me not to tell anyone though and when he saw something in the store, he'd make me buy it for him to "keep up his manly image." LOL.

AnneNoel, perhaps they may be willing to adopt a skincare regimen, complete with face masks, exfoliation, eyecreams, serums, and oils :D
Haaaaa, that would be so funny!:)

Hey Skittle,

Quick question... I know we've talked about skincare a bit but since there's a lot of interest in this thread... What is the order in which you should apply these products? It all gets so confusing.I'm guessing they should be applied in this order?

AM:

* toner (See? You finally talked me into getting a toner. :))
* serum
* sunscreen
* moisturizer

PM:

* toner
* Retinol
* serum (or should it be serum first, then Retinol?)
* moisturizer

Also:

1. What do you think of peptides? I've seen peptide sprays and creams? Where would this go in the order of products?
2. Is there anything else I should add to my routine? (I exfoliate about once a week because of sensitivities.)
Don't forget to use your cleanser before your toner :D
You have a great regimen here :) Sunscreen can either be used before or after moisturizer. Personally, I like to finish off with sunscreen :)
Serum would be ideal before the retinol, so the retinol can have optimal absorption. Peptides are fantastic little molecules. Many of them really improve the elasticity and collagen production of the skin. There are many great moisturizers that use peptides. It wouldn't be an additional product in your routine; it would be what you use as your moisturizer.

Skin care for men is becoming more and more popular, and I think it's great! I think that more men need to realize that there's nothing wrong or "feminine" about taking good care of their skin! Won't stop you guys from going out hunting or fishing or rolling around in the mud or whatever man-things men do lol

Skittles, do you typically recommend sunscreen still if your moisturizer and foundation both have spf, or is that sufficient?

Yeah right, we manly men let nature take it's course. I did have a gf once that made me start using lotion on my hands and arms though lol; I still do to this day. -_-

If you're exposed to sun very briefly, then it's usually fine. However, if you're exposed to sun for more than a couple hours, no matter what time of year, a separate sunscreen should be worn :)

Yes...we admit it...we roll around in the mud...OKAY?!:mad:
But it's only on those days when we're not feeling very pretty, anyway! :(

what? skittle are you trying to get me hurt?
My advice would be to go and get samples of products and see what works for you. My wife is doing it for her products and sometimes the best product will not accommodate a certain skin type :)

hey im getting older and after some years out in the sun..have a couple dark spots on my face that I really don't like ...anyone have any advice?
I have those dark spots as well which I would love to be gone I spoke to my beauty therapist about any treatments she could do and was surprised when she told me there was no treatment to remove them. So I went on you tube and found some people get them to fade a little by dabbing lemon juice on every day. I did buy some whitening cream which also said it fades them from amazon but wasn't impressed. They sent me 2 pots and iv only used one so if you would like to try it I will send it to you its called MENA cream.

Do chopsticks work?

(Thank goodness I also keep a large assortment of needles on hand. It's just that I usually use them for mending holes in my clothes, not self-therapy.)

So assuming it is dark spots from exposure, you can have a microdermabrasion (make sure they use a diamond head) done and then start wearing sunscreen or accept the fact you're getting older, are still handsome and that they are no big deal. And coconut oil works great!!! I use on my skin often!!!
