how can one person chose other person to be his good friend
It's up to the other person too, Ashish. I would try to be friendly to people and see who seems to enjoy talking to you. I'd also pray about it and ask Jesus for peace about who He wants you to be close friends with. Ask Him for discernment too.

He sticks closer than a brother, as the Bible says :). Praise His Name!

Ashish, a good friend is someone you can communicate well with and who respects you, while you respect them also. A good friend is someone you can count on to be there or offer some assistance or support even when they are physically unavailable to you. You must do the same thing back. But, all of this is not based off of obligation but desire to help each other. A good friend is someone you can have a good time with, and who you look to, or at least aren't afraid to show your true self to, in difficult times. I think those might be the big basics of a good friend. Choose people who can do this for you, and who you want to do this for, or could be someone you share with and who shares with you. No?

Warm welcome to you Ashlee. I've been on this forum a little more than 2 weeks. Found some good people here. Thanks for sharing your testimony. Congratulations on choosing Jesus, and that too for the right reasons. May God bless you in all the areas of your life.

Well, in some ways, but that doesn't mean that we'll be friends with everyone we meet :). "There's a time to every purpose under Heaven", but not everything we want will come to pass. Well, I suppose it's possible that we'd never want anything that wasn't in God's will, but I've never heard of that being the case; He answers us, but He often says "no" :). I'm sure you'll make plenty of friends if you treat everyone nicely and are very patient; a lot of times it takes a long time to get to know someone.

baptismal testimony?
Ah, yes. I don't really know much about it, but the church I go to here in Japan has it so that you say a testimony first, before the whole congregation, and then get baptized. :)

Thank you, for your welcome, Powemm.
Oh, thanks so much, Caroline H. I'm so glad it served some purpose. It still doesn't feel "good enough" to me, but that's a problem I often have. Thank you for your encouragement.

Ashlee, I loved your testimony and it seems you are a prodigal daughter and it gives me hope for my teen age children who are resistant to the things of God
