Fillan that’s what I’m hoping for. How was your day today? Did you do anything special? I bet Scotland’s a very pretty country. It would’ve been nice if I could’ve seen it but it won’t be in this lifetime lol. But I’ll get to see heaven and that’ll be the best!! maybe you could send me some pictures sometime of Scotland. I would like to see them.. i’m gonna try to answer your other post and hopefully I know what I’m doing lol great to hear from you again and have a fantastic evening or day. By the way I live in Sacramento California and I’m 60 years old.. love Pam may God bless you and keep you safe🙂

Pamela, please try talking to others in the many forums and threads available from the main page of Christian Chat while you are waiting to have your membership privileges activated by RoboOp. Read through any that interest you and feel free to jump into any conversation at any time! There are plenty of threads in the Singles Forum especially designed to help people get acquainted with others here, but even just by participating randomly you will come to know people and we will get to know you... and there are many threads in Miscellaneous, Bible Discussion, and other forums that may delight you, elucidate you, edify you etc. On the main page of https://christianchat.com/ every Forum you see listed along the left hand side is a link you can click on to see the threads that are active there... then just click on any thread title that grabs your attention to see what is going on in there, as in, who is saying what to whom, and reply to posts as you feel led...
Thanks magenta for all your input. I sure appreciate it. I’ll check it out but I’m still trying to figure out how to navigate on the website anyway I will talk to you later and thanks again you’re wonderful. Sincerely, Pam.

Dearest David, unless something major has changed, a new member must financially support this site in order to get PM privileges. Since Pamela just joined last night, it may take Robo a day or two before he gets around to taking care of such matters. I am not sure how often he is on any more, but a while back it was about once a week... though that may have been a one time thing. Although having said that, anyone with messaging abilities can start a conversation with Pamela. Generally it is considered better to get to know people a little before jumping in to PMs with them, though...
Magenta, what does PMs mean? Also, what do you mean by if someone has messaging ability they can start a conversation with me mean ..thanks for your help again Pamela. 😊

Hi, Pamela.

You did reply to me twice, but that is not a problem.

I also live in the US, but I am probably about 2,800 miles away from where you are.

I saw that you asked Magenta what PM's are, and they are private messages.

I am going to send you one now.

It will appear as a notification on the envelope in the upper right hand corner of the page.

I live in PA and am 56. I'm a hermit on a hill with a cat named Amelia. I have grown to like the peace and solitude. I talk with Jesus as friend with friend. I feel fortunate to have a life with time for quiet contemplation.

Went grocery shopping today with my aunt. We both bought yarn and crochet hooks. Relearning how to crochet is our latest project. :giggle: She lives 1/2 hour up the road. We often get together on weekends.

Hello again, Pamela... I see that seekingthemindofChrist has answered some of your questions to me (thank you, @seekingthemindofChrist ! .:)) and I am sorry for using language short cuts you do not understand. Some people
speak in a lot of shortcuts and I understand that can be difficult to read, let alone understand (known as "chat speak"),
but there are many short cuts people use on a somewhat regular basis in conversations here and elsewhere on the
web/internet. I will list some of them here for you... any others that you come across, you could try using a google
or duckduckgo or bing search engine to try to suss out the meaning. Learning how to use a search engine can
really enhance your web experience! I do hope you get more comfortable as you chart this unknown terrain.

Oh my goodness, I just googled chat speak on wikipedia and there is a very long list!

But some of the ones mainly used are

AFAIR as far as I recall

AFAIK as far as I know

IIRC if I recall correctly

LOL laugh out loud

AFK away from keyboard

ATM at the moment

BTW by the way

IOW in other words

ISTM it seems to me

JFTR just for the record

TBH to be honest

TMI too much information

SMH. TBH, ROFLOL. JS. Got the 411, but keeping it on the DL. CFN.

Neither JS nor CFN was on the list I consulted, but I assume DL means down-low?

I also meant to add

TY thank you

and

YW you're welcome

... but ran out of edit time...

Parting is such sweet sorrow. Don't try the acronym for this.
Yes, there were some on the list I consulted that were 100% inappropriate for this site .:censored:

I skipped those and many others as well, plus quite a few even I had not heard of LOL

Then there are all the keyboard shortcuts...
