Hmm...interesting. Isn't it the Catholic Church's position that if you're divorced, you're
excommunicated? While I seem to remember attending a Methodist church in my teens
had the bread and wine (grape juice) ceremony. I don't remember if it were called Eucharist
or something else. Anyways, my memory is hazy about that time. God Bless you.
Like many other things within Catholicism, they have changed their official stance on divorce.

The other has their story lines confused, also ;)

They said: "In the bible, at the Last Supper, Jesus broke the bread and gave
it to his disciples saying This is my body. Alot of people left at that point. "

Nobody left during the last supper except Judas, to betray Jesus.

Yes, but I need to be very discerning as to which one. I'm a conservative and not into the alphabet people and other leftist insanity. I feel that if you leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. Live and let live. I also don't want one who'll tell me to get a vaccination shot. I haven't gotten one and never will. I'll have to attend a church on Sunday and listen and watch. I'll start with the Methodist church that I have attended as a teen and go from there.
The Methodists just split over liberal/conservative lines, Sunday was the first day after the official break up so I might give them a bit to figure it out, or see prior to attending if the church your wanting to attend is staying or going... (The ones staying under the banner United Methodist are the liberals, if memory serves.)

Likewise, PCUSA churches (Presbyterian) is Presbyterian liberal. Whereas PCA (Presbyterian churches of America) is Presbyterian conservative.

But at least now with mainline churches you can know if it's going to be a church your able to attend.

The United Church here in Canada is very liberal. In 1992, Tim Stevenson became
the first openly gay man to be ordained as a minister by the United Church. In 2012,
the church elected Gary Paterson (the husband of Tim Stevenson) as its Moderator,
the first openly gay man elected to lead the church, and the first openly gay leader
of a major Christian denomination in Canada.

Well and that is why this split has occurred.

At a general conference some years ago they voted against the ordination of LGBT clergy and kept to the conservative doctrine by their majority, but the liberals just ignored it and did whatever they wanted.

Since they refuse to stop and abide by the decisions of the conferences, the conservatives are leaving United Methodist and going under the banner Global Methodist.

It's really ridiculous... Especially since the liberals are pushing off the next conference to 2024, so the matter of church property etc can't even be settled for years ..

Lol, no, they don't excommunicate you if you divorce. Excommunicating is for something extremely bad (yes, worse than divorce, it's extremely rare). In the Methodist Church, they have the bread and wine as a symbol of the Eucharist, which is the BODY, BLOOD, SOUL, AND DIVINITY of Christ Jesus. They don't believe it's ture, but like I said, it's what Jesus meant.

A United Church minister came out as an atheist in 2015, saying, "I’m a product of the United Church."

She cannot even unequivocally affirm Jesus' existence, claiming anything super-
natural about Him, including His divinity, an invented theological construct. She
wants the United Church to accept that the Bible is not the authoritative word of God.

Yeah, that sort of thing is everywhere now. It's a direct attempt to destroy the church from within..

Being careful about what church you attend is so important now, so that your not sitting under a false teaching.

I'm currently in a PCA church, for me thats the best option (since I am of the reformed doctrine) even though I don't believe in paedobaptism.. at least the teachings are good otherwise.

I agree :) And how odd that someone who clearly does not know God wants to set herself up as an authority on Him. Not to mention being nonsensible, nonsensical, and self- contradictory. I discovered that non-believers are very much like that, though.

I studied with some United Churchers for a while. It was a similar situation, where the ordained minister and leader of the
group identified as an agnostic. I found this post of mine from August of 2015, which was shortly after I joined this site:

Since the Wednesday evening classes I was going to at another church have ended,
I have returned to the home Bible study I had been attending for about the past
three years. The last few weeks there have been ten people at them! Normally it is
about six, and we each read different translations, with the "leader" also reading
Hebrew and Greek. I enjoy this group very much even though they do not believe
what I believe at all... in fact, others might call them heretics LOL. They do not
accept the Deity of Christ, do not believe Jesus' crucifixion took away the sins of
the world (paid the sin debt of the world) etc, but they do identify as Christians
(the leader is an ordained minister but calls herself an agnostic Christian)... We
read Old and New each week; they really do not like John's gospel because
John was all about the Deity of Christ (I like John's gospel)...

It was a critical analysis of the text, which I quite enjoyed, and I also very much enjoyed
all the discussions that came out of our readings in relation to current events. I got
shingles right around the election of 2016, and that is when I stopped attending.

What do you have against the Catholic Church? That's what this is kind of suggesting.

Hello, my name is Jerry. I've been a lifelong christian, but, largely spiritual, as I called it. I had an awakening. Not sure what, though, but I do know it was in April. I felt moved to get a bible (Amplified Study Bible) and started watching Christian YouTubes, in particular, Lions of Judah. I've started correcting my behavior and praying. I'm not in fear of my life, but my soul. I stopped watching porn, stopped cursing, though, people around me still curse. I still fail and curse at times. I am regretful when I do so. Whereever I could see that I'm sinning, I try to fix. I have some things to fix with my wife, my second wife. I don't know how to fix my divorce. All I can do is ask for forgiveness.

I pray but I'm not the most eloquent. I've been hard of hearing since I was three years old. I'm now 59 years old. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm born again. There was no big revelation or insight or issues with problems. I just felt moved. I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do. I do know that I need to fix my sins and where I can, apologise to those people I've wronged. As for my life, I had to deal with my hearing loss. I wear aids and do okay except I found that people treat me differently, especially if they don't know me well. I have a friend at work who curses like a sailor but bless his heart and soul, he's treated me like a person and talks to me.

Anyways, God, bless everyone, especially the children. Amen
Welcome

You are bearing false witness.
THAT is a lie. Dude, 5 times Jesus appeared to priests. He had a sword in his hand. He signaled them to take it and it turned it to a ROSARY. TURE STORY. And again, do you believe that Jesus was both God and man?

This site is odd. I'm mainline protestant of the largest and most traditional belief set in protestant Christianity but I can't speak fully about my beliefs here either.

Just accept these are the site rules. You can chip in in ways that don't speak fully about your faith.

This site has a particular view of the faith and you can't much stray from that. They do hold to the Nicene Creed though, if memory serves.

Perhaps you should actually read the Bible.

Did you just make that up, did someone teach it to you, or are
you as confused as you want to pretend everyone else here is?
