It's so hard starting over. I feel lost. I just want my life back. I had a really good life. I had my act together, was super organized, was on a great walk with my Savior, was in a position to help others which was awesome. Now I can't even tell you where my mail from yesterday is. I can't help anyone in my condition and my walk is a snail crawl, often in the wrong direction! I don't feel like me anymore. I try to cling to Jeremiah 29:11..... I know there's a plan, it's going to be amazing! But how to get there? I have no clue.
Neither do I. Geez, I wish I had something encouraging to offer.

At this time, my life has not fully recovered from that. I was content back then. She was a great wife. I had a home (not great, but a place to live), and a career that was going okay. Now, I have none of the above. I am dreading going into work on Monday.

Trying to get my joy from God alone, but I don't even know where to start with that, other than daily prayer.

We just have to hang on. This is temporary. Whether in this life or the next, the dark clouds will pass. I just wish they'd pass already. Really kind of sick of this now.

I am so sorry. I am not acquainted with dogs. I am fortunate to live way out in the boonies of northern PA. My cat is free as the the birds (accept the ones she catches and eats every day.) She catches many mice also. She leaves every other one on the doorstep for me to eat. I BBQ them up and tell my dinner guests that they are Buffalo Wings.:giggle::coffee:

Reading the scriptures and understanding and agreeing with what we must do is so very different from actually living it day in and day out .

Hi, I moved across the country after my husband died and I'm struggling with missing my friends, my ministry, my security. God is keeping me afloat emotionally, but just barely. I found a church here but no one talks to me. I'm not the outgoing type lol. And dating has been a disaster! So I'm just here to see what this is like. I do love talking about books too! I've been reading very thought-provoking books by James L Rubart if anyone knows his novels?
Brutal. Extremely sorry to hear of your struggles. Hang in there . . . the Lord Loves those who are suffering and struggling. Cling to Him, particularly in your struggles . . . He [is] watching you . . . He knows every fiber of your heart.

May the Lord grant you remarkable peace. And if necessary, find a church that has the Love of God in their hearts. Any church that does not welcome you is probably not of the Lord.

YYYEEEPP!!! Counting the cost... I was contemplating that today.

DO NOT GIVE UP. 80-90 years is not worth eternity.

But, this is why I have difficulty singing some lines in hymns, and I wonder how many people in the congregation actually mean what they're singing. Things like "Jesus you're my all... nothing in this life matters..." Yeah right. Hard time believing most believers fully take that tack.

Amen. Lets all pray for one another...

Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

Thanks dude. But, I'm not Job :D

Why do you call yourself oyster? Are you hard on the outside but soft on the inside? Or do you have a fondness for pearls?

God wants to use all of us to make pearls. I have heard that all pearls start with an irritating little grain of sand.

If you mean activities, they usually have something going on. I volunteered once. They have small home groups and I am in one now. That's going well actually 🙂
I think volunteering is one of the most important things we can do.
Regardless of faith. The world means action not procrastination, the politicians are good at words.

For me, volunteering helped break me out of a very low point. Im trying to get out of a hole, but reluctant to press on those who care because they have their own pains. Volunteering helps

Hi Kacey, I'm Lily! It's so nice to meet you. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband passing away *sends you a big hug*
I'm glad to hear that doors are opening for you; HeartChange sounds like an amazing program. If you don't mind me asking, where did you use to live in California? (i.e North, South, Central valley?) I have some aunts and uncles who are currently living in California (Central region to be exact).
Hi, I was in so cal. Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Oh my gosh, I love James L. Rubart! I'm actually friends with him. :) He's a nice man and has been so helpful as I'm starting as a Christian author.
Sorry it's been so hard for you! Which side of the country did you move to? I'm in the Northwest.

P.S. Follow my journey as I create newsletters about faith fiction and a podcast. Message me with "I'm in" and I'll add you.

Oh cool, I remember passing through San Bernadino (or the at least the general area) on a family trip to L.A!
How was your Thanksgiving week?
It was ok. Too many distractions. But I had a nice time with my daughter and her in laws. How about yours?

WOW!! I'm having a fan girl moment lol! "Rooms" blew me away! I need that house. I definitely need to clear out some rooms of my own. Fiction that has a typical plot but the characters happen to be believers is ok, but actual stories of everyday people fighting the enemy in the spirit is so much more.... more important? Some of the scriptures he quotes have hit me deeper in the context of someones story. I hope he writes more books! And yes "I'm in"!
I moved from Southern California to Virginia.
