Hi, I moved across country after my husband died and im struggling with missing my friends, my ministry, my security. God is keeping me afloat emotionally, but just barely. I found a church here but no one talks to me. I'm not the outgoing type lol. And dating has been a disaster! So I'm just here to see what this is like. I do love talking about books too! I've been reading very thought provoking books by James L Rubart if anyone knows his novels?

I joined this site a month after my late second wife died. Books are a popular topic at times and I am an avid reader myself. Sorry for your loss. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

Hi Kacey, and welcome to CChat! I'm glad that you found us and have joined in the discussions with us, but I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband, and that you are struggling with other parts of your life right now too.

Praying for you!

God bless you! (Numbers 6:24-26)

~Deut
p.s. - have you considered talking to your new pastor about everything that's going on in your life right now, including the struggles that you are facing at church? Perhaps he can help you find a new ministry to be involved in at your new church, or something like a small group? (and he would know how to be praying for you in a more specific way too)

1 Thessalonians 5
23 May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body
be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.

Thank you, he did suggest a small group to me and I went this evening. I am feeling very positive about it!

Hello, there are good people here. I have met one or two that that are kind and give insight. Happy to message if you like. But I am not interested in dating. Being in Europe time zones to make it harder to keep in touch with the people across the ocean. But overall I think the room has a good mix of people

I applaud your adventurous spirit. What in particular were you hoping to find, a fresh start? What ministry were you part of? There’s lots of reading for you here at CC. Colourful characters and conflict of every flavour in every genre, for hours…and hours of literary distraction. The best part is that you are now part of the story! Welcome.

Thank you. Yes I wanted a fresh start, hate California, my daughter wanted me here, and I really felt called here to Virginia for the HeartChange ministry. No doors would open for me there, and doors here started flying open as I'd prayed for, so here I am. In California I was the organizer for my church's children's ministry. But HeartChange is an amazing program, bringing people in closer to our Papa and His infinite love. Look it up. There are workshops in Oregon, Sacramento, and Norco, CA and hopefully here near Richmond, VA soon.

Hi Kacey, I'm Lily! It's so nice to meet you. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband passing away *sends you a big hug*
I'm glad to hear that doors are opening for you; HeartChange sounds like an amazing program. If you don't mind me asking, where did you use to live in California? (i.e North, South, Central valley?) I have some aunts and uncles who are currently living in California (Central region to be exact).

Honestly not too good. I miss my life. Things here keep going wrong. I know it's the enemy coming at me, but it's hard to keep it together some days. Thank you for asking. I feel like I lost my self when my husband died.
sorry to hear, know how it is to lose people.

I guess the losses you feel is an indication of how deep the love was even is.
I guess it will take a few years for things to improve. Are you managing to keep fit getting sleep and exercise can help with the emotions

Well sleep is hard to come by, but I just got an exercise bike and I'm trying to use it every day. I make every other lol. And I eat healthy, except for ice cream. It's my thing.
