So, according to Islam, Muhammad's first revelation was the event in which Muhammad was visited by the archangel Gabriel in 610 CE, who revealed to him a verse from the Koran. The event took place in a cave called Hira, located on the mountain called Jabal an-Nour, near Makkah.

However, we know that Satan usually poses as an angel of light.
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.
And let's remember; Satan is not his original name. It is Lucifer and in the Hebrew it means “shining one” or “morning star.”

Now we know that Satan is the author of lies and confusion (John 8:44). And that his only will is to steal, kill and destroy.
John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;
So Muhammad is said to have been visited in a cave by an angel of light. Or the angel Gabriel to be precise.

Well check this out....

The Birth of the Quran

Muslims believe that when Muhammad received the revelations that have been compiled to make up the Quran, he received them word for word, directly from Allah. As such, Allah is thought to be the actual author of the Quran. The Quran is thus intended to be read as if it is Allah speaking directly in the first person. Muhammad is merely viewed as the human messenger, or the apostle of Allah (rasul-allah). As one Muslim theologian has said, “The prophet was purely passive - indeed unconscious: the Book was in no sense his, neither its thought, nor language, nor style: all was of God, and the Prophet was merely a recording pen.” [SUP]1[/SUP] This stands in distinction to the Christian view of the nature of inspiration of the Bible. Christians understand that while God indeed inspired the authors of Scripture to convey His thoughts and words, each individual author brought to the Scriptures his own individual human style and personality. God used the human agents as His vessels, but He did not literally override them. As we will see, this was not the manner of Muhammad’s revelations....

Karen Armstrong, a popular and highly sympathetic writer about Islam and Muhammad gives this account of the manner of Muhammad’s initial encounter with what Muslims believe was Gabriel (jibril) the “angel” in the cave of Hira:

Muhammad was torn from his sleep in his mountain cave and felt himself overwhelmed by a devastating divine presence. Later he explained this ineffable experience by saying that an angel had enveloped him in a terrifying embrace so that it felt as though the breath was being forced from his body. The angel gave him the curt command: ‘iqra!’ ‘Recite!’ Muhammad protested that he could not recite; he was not a kahin, one of the ecstatic prophets of Arabia. But, he said, the angel simply embraced him again until, just as he thought he had reached the end of his endurance, he found the divinely inspired words of a new scripture pouring forth from his mouth. [SUP]2[/SUP]

Armstrong mistakenly however, does not mention that it was not actually until the third time that the “angel” had strangled Muhammad, demanding that he recite, that he finally did so. [SUP]3[/SUP] This encounter stands in stark contrast to the general nature of angelic and divine encounters found throughout the Bible, where the angels (or the Lord Himself) almost always are found beginning their conversation with the comforting phrase, “Do not be afraid.” (Genesis 15:1, 26:24, 46:3, Daniel 8:15-19, 10:12,19, Matthew 28:5,10, Luke 1:13, Luke 1:26-31, 2:10, Revelation 1:17)
Original source: Chapter Eleven: The Dark Nature of Muhammad’s Revelations

Stark contrast indeed! Do angels of God usually strangle people?

Is Islam from God?

Was this really the angel of God Gabriel?

And another interesting question, since the bible teaches us that Jesus is the only way to God, that Jesus was given to us as a way back to God, that faith in Jesus is the only way mankind can gain atonement/forgiveness for their sins. And the Koran actually denies that Christ was Gods son, came into the world and was crucified on the cross (even though we have the three Gospels Matthew, Mark, and Luke). Is the Koran from God? Or is it just the works of Satan back in 610 CE?

Can an educated person here bring and shed some light on Islam?

Thanks!

It's up to you to decide what the truth is.

While I may be a Christian, I still accept that not everyone shares my beliefs. I would still pray that the Lord puts people on the right path if they're not on that path already.

While I may be a Christian, I still accept that not everyone shares my beliefs. I would still pray that the Lord puts people on the right path if they're not on that path already.
But me making my own mind up about what the truth is, doesn't mean that the decision I've made is the actual truth.

I personally believe that Muhammad is a false profit (one of the false profits we were warned about).

And that this "angel of light" wasn't Gabriel at all, rather it was a fallen angel posing as an angel of light.
[h=3]Matthew 24:24 “For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”[/h]I also believe that God has allowed this to happen for a reason, for reasons we don't fully know yet in full.

But this is why I asked "Can an educated person here bring and shed some light on Islam?"

I don't want people telling me I should just make an assumption. I want facts, I want details, I want the truth!

Is that too much to ask?

No. In actual fact, Mohammed did not know what form of spirit (jinn) accosted him. It was his wife and another relative that convinced Mohammed to say it was the angel Gabriel.

There will be many false prophets, who will deceive many. We are told that the antichrist denies the Father and the Son. Mohammad was definitely an antichrist-

Quran 5:75 "Christ the son of Mary was no more than a messenger; many were the messengers who passed away before him"
Quran 4:171 "O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs."
Islam completely denies Jesus Christ, and offers an alternative character they call "Isa", who, while performing some miracles here and there (and apparently the ones written in the quran are known fables involving Him), He did nothing more than tell the Jews to worship allah.

You will often hear Muslims tell you the Bible has been corrupted, with Paul being the usual suspect. They usually tell you that you cant trust in the Bible because its been "changed". This is not what Muhammad taught, though : p Muhammad taught his followers that the Gospel is from allah, as well-

Quran 5:47 "Let the people of the Gospel judge by what allah hath reveled therein. If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) those who rebel."
Quran 3:3-4 "He has revealed to you the book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and he revealed the torah and the Gosple aforetime, a guidance for mankind, and he revealed the criterion."
So, if the quran is from allah himself, he tells us we are to judge by the Gospel. If we are to do this, we see verses like this-

John 8:58
Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.”
John 17:1-5 17 After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2 For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. 4 I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
Matthew 28:18
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
John 16:15-33 "All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you."
If we are to follow both the Gospel and the quran, as allah has instructed us to do, we would see that Muhammad was not correct about the identity of Jesus Christ. No prophet has ever claimed to own all that God owns, to have authority over all that God owns, and to have existed with God before the earth even existed.

And we know from the Gospel that Jesus often referred to Himself as "the Son of Man". We know from context, in the book of Daniel, that it is a divine title of the One who will reign over the entire earth from Jerusalem forever, and worshipped by every nation.

For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
John 5:26-27
Muhammad also tells us that Jesus was NOT crucified-

Quran 4:157-158 That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-
Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise
But, not only did Jesus' own hand chosen followers give their own record of His crucifixion, Jesus Himself told us of His mission-

John Chapter 10-
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.

14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
Matthew 20:28- "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Islam claims to be from the same source as Jesus Christ. But in truth, it completely denies everything that He told us, and everything He did for us. Allah tells us that the Gospel is from him, and that we are to judge by it if we are to judge Islam.
But, by doing so, we see that the quran contradicts the Gospel entirely : p

We are told to not believe every spirit, but to test them. Muhammad did not test the spirit who came to him. Though, according to his own words, he originally believed he was possesed by a demon! : p It wasnt until his first wife told him that it was an angel of God that he decided he was a prophet.

Followers of Islam are told they honor Jesus, but according to Jesus, they do not honor Him at all.

John 5:21-23 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
If we judge the Gospel and the quran against each other, as we should, it is clear that Muhammad was a false prophet.

I believe he was lead by an angel, but not all angels are of God, and those that are not have no problem with lying to us in order to destroy us.

It has also been said that it was the same spirit (probably a demon) who visited both Muhammad and Joseph Smith.

Sermons I have heard on Christian radio from very smart pastors!...
Quran teachings saying that an angel came to Muhammad. Muhammad fell to the ground in fear. The Pastor went on to mention in his sermon that every time an Angel appeared to Profits in Christianity. The Angel appearing to man has always said!... Do Not Fear. Then the Profit was able to receive the Angels message without fear of death. The 1st Quran writings of this event! The angel never said, Do Not Fear. Muhammad was in great fear of his life till after the angel left his presence.

The Quran has had many changes in its writings and teachings. One reason! Muhammad could not write. So many misspellings, nothing in order or sequence. Could not understand his writings.

Later the Quran writing were changed of this angel visitation event. The later writing say that is was the Angel Gabriel that appeared to Muhammad. Once again Muhammad was in fear of death the entire time that Gabriel? told him what to write. The angel did NOT say! Do not fear.

The conclusion would then be? If Muhammad was indeed visited by an angel. It would have been a fallen angel. For Muhammad was in fear of his life the entire time the angel was present with him. This was never the case when Angels appeared to Profits for giving messages that are from Christianitys God in the Bible.

Maybe Muhammad was afflicted by an actual angel as the Islamic tradition states.

Maybe Muhammad was afflicted by Satan
that old dragon pretending to be an angel and all the deceived followers under the dragon's breath spell swayed.
His deceived followers are blinded by his lie of being an angel Lucifer or Iblis and call him such nice names
The story of Lucifer/Iblis is not in the Bible, but it is found in Koran and every heretic's shame.
They say the lying lowly wyrm that he was a beautiful, wise, and such wonderful complimented angel of light,
but fell for his jealousy or pride or to Man would not bow right.
Bible says he was foul from the start.
Satan is a serpent, the end says he's a dragon.
One whose deadly breath holds the Three Original Sins,
The Lies, the fire he sprays from his mouth.

Maybe Muhammad was under influence of djinn, after all, the Koran states much about them.
Maybe Muhammad was an idolator influenced by rocks and daemons,
the proof circled in Mecca and written in exo-Koranic Islamic Tradition.
Maybe Muhammad's cougar wife Khadija convinced him.
Oh mad poet of Arabia you gotta beware all those very pretty women!
Maybe Muhammad was actually mentally ill like he thought.
Or maybe Muhammad himself simply made up the plot.

Who cares?
Muhammad is dead and has been for a long while.
Even his supporters know it and will walk to his tomb, even for miles
Is the religion of islam, the religion of submission,
is it a religion of God, or a lie made to defeat billions?
I think it by its name is all ready defeated, God be willing.

It is said in the life of Muhammad he was demon possessed & tried to kill himself. Even one of his wives criticised him about "Allah" fulfilling his personal desires. He didn't have the holy spirit in his life that's for sure.

Satan is actually very intelligent. First he tries to completely block someone from seeking God with money worship, hedonism, etc. If that fails then he tries to push them towards false religions like idol worship etc. If that fails, he tries to push them towards false religions that worship God like Islam where they have a lot of truth, but the most important parts are twisted such as denying that Jesus is the son of God and them trying to get to heaven by works -- both false.

Now, if they already have their heart fixed on Jesus then he tries to push them towards things like Mormonism where it has a book of false doctrine with the bible as supplement. He will also push them towards Catholicism where they worship and even pray to the mother Mary, which is also false. Then you have Jehovah Witnesses and the list goes on...

To the OP, take a look at these verses and see what they teach about lying spirits
and prophets tricked into thinking a lie.

1 Kings 22:1-23 NLT
[1] For three years there was no war between Aram and Israel.
[2] Then during the third year, King Jehoshaphat of Judah went to visit King Ahab of Israel.
[3] During the visit, the king of Israel said to his officials, "Do you realize that the town
of Ramoth-gilead belongs to us? And yet we've done nothing to recapture it from the
king of Aram!"
[4] Then he turned to Jehoshaphat and asked, "Will you join me in battle to
recover Ramoth-gilead?" Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, "Why, of course!
You and I are as one. My troops are your troops, and my horses are your horses."

[5] Then Jehoshaphat added, "But first let's find out what the LORD says."
[6] So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, about 400 of them, and asked
them, "Should I go to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should I hold back?" They all
replied, "Yes, go right ahead! The Lord will give the king victory."
[7] But Jehoshaphat asked, "Is there not also a prophet of the LORD here? We should
ask him the same question."
[8] The king of Israel replied to Jehoshaphat, "There is one more man who could consult
the LORD for us, but I hate him. He never prophesies anything but trouble for me! His
name is Micaiah son of Imlah." Jehoshaphat replied, "That's not the way a king
should talk! Let's hear what he has to say."

[9] So the king of Israel called one of his officials and said, "Quick! Bring Micaiah
son of Imlah." [
[10] King Ahab of Israel and King Jehoshaphat of Judah, dressed in their royal robes,
were sitting on thrones at the threshing floor near the gate of Samaria. All of Ahab's
prophets were prophesying there in front of them.
[11] One of them, Zedekiah son of Kenaanah, made some iron horns and
proclaimed, "This is what the LORD says: With these horns you will gore the Arameans
to death!"

[12] All the other prophets agreed. "Yes," they said, "go up to Ramoth-gilead and be
victorious, for the LORD will give the king victory!"
[13] Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him, "Look, all the
prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and
promise success."
[14] But Micaiah replied, "As surely as the LORD lives, I will say only what the LORD
tells me to say."

[15] When Micaiah arrived before the king, Ahab asked him, "Micaiah, should we go
to war against Ramoth-gilead, or should we hold back?" Micaiah replied
sarcastically, "Yes, go up and be victorious, for the LORD will give the king victory!"
[16] But the king replied sharply, "How many times must I demand that you speak
only the truth to me when you speak for the LORD?"

[17] Then Micaiah told him, "In a vision I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains,
like sheep without a shepherd. And the LORD said, 'Their master has been killed.
Send them home in peace.'" [18] "Didn't I tell you?" the king of Israel exclaimed to
Jehoshaphat. "He never prophesies anything but trouble for me."

[19] Then Micaiah continued, "Listen to what the LORD says! I saw the LORD sitting
on his throne with all the armies of heaven around him, on his right and on his left.
[20] And the LORD said, 'Who can entice Ahab to go into battle against Ramoth-gilead
so he can be killed?' "There were many suggestions,
[21] and finally a spirit approached the LORD and said, 'I can do it!' [22] "'How will you
do this?' the LORD asked. "And the spirit replied, 'I will go out and inspire all of Ahab's
prophets to speak lies.' "'You will succeed,' said the LORD. 'Go ahead and do it.'
[23] "So you see, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouths of all your prophets.
For the LORD has pronounced your doom."

If you read th rest of the chapter Ahab was killed.

If it is of the Holy God, I'm pretty sure the Holy angels won't harm you. I'm also sure you will NOT feel fear or confusion by it. For God is not of confusion but the truth. He doesn't bring fear but comfort and peace. I think a lot of us Christians, including myself, need to work more on discerning the unclean spirits. Without the knowledge and wisdom from the Holy Bible, we would be very confused.

Jesus said you can judge whether a tree is good or bad by its fruit... and in my opinion, the fruit of the religion of islam has not been good.

I mean the same could be said about Christianity -- we have done some horrible stuff in the past and bared some terrible fruits especially against God's chosen people the Jews. Second, I am sure there are some amazing Muslims who are goodhearted and more faithful than many of us Christians -- definitely praying more often.

It just comes down to the fact that Jesus died on the cross for our sins -- its the only way to have sins purified. You can't beat sin out of yourself, you can't pray sin out of yourself, you can't kill people to get sin out of yourself, you can't do good deeds to get sin out of yourself -- its by grace only through the acceptance of Jesus Christ, period. So, any religion that doesn't accept Jesus as the savior is literally doomed because even with a single sin one can't enter heaven -- you have to be perfect. And we are only made perfect through the blood and suffering of Jesus Christ.

If you read the Quran it is like a joke with repeating itself about things, and so basic a book.

But the Bible is detailed and tells us of things, and history, unequaled by any other religious book, and it is all inspired by God,as the Bible states that none of the word of God is by human interpretation, but all scripture was given by inspiration of God,as the holy men were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Isa 41:21 Produce your cause, saith the LORD; bring forth your strong reasons, saith the King of Jacob.
Isa 41:22 Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.
Isa 41:23 Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.
Isa 41:24 Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.
Isa 41:25 I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come: from the rising of the sun shall he call upon my name: and he shall come upon princes as upon morter, and as the potter treadeth clay.
Isa 41:26 Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words.
Isa 41:27 The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
Isa 41:28 For I beheld, and there was no man; even among them, and there was no counsellor, that, when I asked of them, could answer a word.
Isa 41:29 Behold, they are all vanity; their works are nothing: their molten images are wind and confusion.

God of the Holy Bible identifies Himself as the one true God,by telling the end from the beginning, and telling the whole history of mankind, for the time of creation until the saints are in the New Jerusalem for all eternity, and said no other religion would be able to do that, and their god is false.

God told us of cars, that He would bring the Jews back to Israel, and then take control of Jerusalem by way of fighter jets,1967,the 6 day war.

Told us of every kingdom that would come up,one after the other, with the next kingdom to come, the ten horn kingdom, the world split in to ten sections with a leader in each section, and then the 8th king, the beast, who will deceive all people who do not love God to follow the beast kingdom, for it is the time for God to end this sin business.

Told us of the new age movement in the latter times, that will have an interpretation of the Bible based on the occult, and spiritual evolution, that will become so popular that is will be the standard format of the unified religious system to come in the reign of the ten horn kingdom, which the Bible says that the time will come when they will not want to hear the truth of what has been taught for years, but want to hear it according to their own lusts, harnessing the power of nature for spiritual evolution, and will turn their ears from the truth of the Bible, and be turned unto fables, which the new age movement is the imaginations of people.

The book of Revelation is a warning to the world to turn to God,the time that God will end this sin business, and a revealing of Jesus to the world, which God will put the world down, and the saints will be forever in the New Jerusalem.

The book of Daniel was sealed, which means people could not understand it,until there is advanced travel, and advanced technology, for then they can see what the world is doing, and how they can communicate with each other to come together to form the beast kingdom, the time for God to end this sin business on the entire planet, for all people who do not love God will follow the beast kingdom, believing in no personal God,so it is over.

Among other things, but God told us the whole history of mankind, and said no other religion,or there so called god would be able to do,identifying Him as the one true God,out of all the gods that people call gods.

Can the Quran do that, can Allah tell us that,I think not,and that is why the Bible is so complex with a vast amount of information, and history,as God identifies Himself as the one true God.

God's word does not say,I am God,follow Me or else, but proves to us He is God,so we will know He is God.

Where is the proof of the Quran.

The God of the Bible says to the saints,do not fight for the kingdom of God by physical power, for it is a spiritual kingdom we belong to,so the saints not having any power in the world,as far as land territory, politicians, and positions of power, does not mean that their God is not true,as the world views prosperity, and they are instructed not to fight physically for the kingdom of God.

But the religion of Islam can fight physically in the name of their religion, but they are decreasing in power, especially with America in some Arab countries, and the religion of Islam does not have control of the world, but how can this be,for if Allah is the only true God,and they can fight physically to extend Islam, why are they decreasing, which if Allah is the one true God who could stand against him.

The truth is during the reign of the ten horn kingdom, with the unified religious system, the religion of Islam rebels against them, and fights against the war,the 6th trumpet, and nuclear weapons are launched, and one third of the population of the world perishes, which is concentrated in the Arab nations, which the man of sin plucks up 3 of those 10 horns by the roots.

The Quran is a joke, and they are going to be devastated when they defend against Islam by rebelling against the world, because they have no power, and no God on their side, for Allah is a false, phony, unreal, made up,god.

Quote " Second, I am sure there are some amazing Muslims who are goodhearted and more faithful than many of us Christians -- definitely praying more often. "

The problem is they are praying to a false God and this demonic religion is far from "good hearted" if you follow it faithfully. It is a violent and intolerant religion.Their religion dictates violence and cruelty against unbelievers, Christianity does not.One can be sincere but sincerely wrong.

^Theres also a big difference between "some Christians have done bad things too" and having an entire doctrine thats based on making war with anyone who refuses to believe.

We can absolutely judge the fruits of Islam against the fruits of Christianity, and by that I mean the actual teachings themselves, and not the works of a few members here and there, and through that we can see where Islam really comes from.

Hi, Muhammad is not God, nor Jesus, I have learned a lot as a Christian to read the bible, do you have a bible
to read if not I know of a site you can get one for free, New King James, because the others are and have been
paraphrased the last think 10 years.........I am proud that you ask questions, I think that is awesome we all
should ask even in a church which we attend nowadays things are more secret sensitive, like going to a night club
or gosh knows where we are here for you, we do not know it all but study, and read, but you are awesome to seek
truth and that is better than others in America that will not try to...Blessings to YOU
