Wonderful testimony sister RedTent!!I myself have a few i could share, but perhaps the most dramatic, came in my third year in the Lord,I was living in Clarksville Indiana, about 5 miles from Louisville Kentucky,i had just come back from a church meeting walking home, when I saw a man about 35, standing on the bridge, i was looking to cross to go home on. He looked homeless, and hungry,so I asked him if he was hungry and needed a place to stay for the night? he said" I have no place to rest my head" Did not think much about this statement at the time. LOL I should of though!!

So i said please come along with me,i shared to him what great things the Lord has done for me, and has had great compassion upon me,and how thankful I was to him!( Mark 5:19) and ( 1thess 5:18) I made him some food and a bed for the night,he smiled a lot,but did not speak much at all!

Before sleeping I told him anything he may need please do wake me,and I would be happy to serve him what he needed. I will say there was a kind of glow on his face, but he did not wish to shower, and the dirt around him,was great cover to him as well! LOL

I woke up to find him gone,i never did know his name, and when I asked him, he only said " it is not the name which is important, only the deed done to that name that matters most"?? humm ok? I still did not get it!! LOL Anyway as i woke up, he was gone,I looked through the house for him,but he was not anywhere.

Well I thought I hoped he at least saw Jesus in me! I looked on his bed, as there was a note,it only said this! HEBREWS 13:2!!!! I raced to get my bible, and started to tear up when I read what it said!!" Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it!! I was visited!!! ME????? This incident forever changed my view of all strangers!! Blessing all!

Yes, I believe we can ask God for angelic assistance (as Jesus said he was able to do). He was only a human then with the Holy Spirit in Him, which describes us.

Once a conference speaker I knew was giving a teaching on angels, and knew they would be present. At the end, she had everyone in the room and fan out from each other, and close their eyes. She said that if they would put out their arms and walk slowly, they would encounter the presence of an angel.

As they did so, they all felt a slight, very slight, pressure in the air. Nothing to see, only a heavier feeling in the air that people touched. This was not New Age stuff, it was a Christian conference. Her teaching was not to have people "find" their angel or to have them worshiped, or to even communicate with them. It was to help them be more aware of their presence. It sure worked. That was all they did. This was the first time that I had thought about there being an angelic substance in the air that sometimes can be felt.

Thus you quoted Exodus 23:20:23 which annotated word Angel with a capital 'A' meaning the angel was Jesus, the christophany and I can see Him as a Guardian angel.

Brother please check out exodus 23:20-23 One day a young boy in our Church prayed and fasted to see his,the parents of the child were of course very firm believers, and allowed the child to do this, because all were led by Holy Spirit( rom 8:14-15) to allow this. Upon the second night of the second day,the child was granted to see his. The child recorded the following." My angel was very large and strong, near 7 foot tall at least he said, with a great wingspan of at least that much of an eagle, the angel bowed his wings before the child, and said" I have come to bear witness of Jesus,to you,and from this day, you will always remember Jesus loves you,for as his Word says to you( matt 18:2-5) remember this word I say unto you,for no matter what age,all who believe upon me are indeed my children." At this point the angel departed, and all who heard this 12 year old boy were amazed. It was a most interesting church service that day let me tell you!! LOL Blessing brother super!

In the Scriptures angels are always treated in the masculine gender...
Further to the above, the Name of "Yahweh Tsabaoth" (The Lord Of Hosts) is one of the Covenant Names of Yahweh, which were often used by the saints of the OT (and the early NT Church), these wonderful Names of Yahweh (which brings His Presence, Power and Love into the immediate circumstances that the Christian is applying them to) are also available to Christians today (covenanted to us by His Blood) to invoke and call upon in ALL circumstances (2Cor 1v20), you can find a short study Here on them...

Yahweh Shalom

This brother super is indeed possible brother, looking at exodus 3:2 exodus 14:19,etc,however it is also possible it was sent by God,look close at verse 20 then verse 23,so it is interesting.I do believe it was Jesus in the fire with Shadrach,Meshach, and Abednego, for in dan 3:25 it says like a Son of Gods.

When Jesus is with a person,it does appear he is called a son, rather then an angel. Jesus is no angel, LOL he is the Son who created them hehe Just a thought bro! Blessing all and thanks for the fine testimony's as well!! The anointing of God breaks every yoke( or bondage!)( Isaiah 10:27)

Staying conscience of Jesus being in us,also means his anointing is as well!( eph 2:11-13) verse 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought NEAR by the BLOOD of Jesus!! amen! Something else to consider for us as well, those who expect the Lord to move in there life's or the life of another shall see this!( mark 16:20) To Jesus be all glory!! amen!

i want to share a angel encounter, that i was sure it was an angel i was seeing. posters have said that the angels was big, and the one i seen was. i was driving down to florida about 10 years ago, and fell asleep driving. When i woke up, an angel was sitting on the hood of the car, the angel never looked at me or spoke, just vanished, but the angel seemed to be 7 to 9 feet tall i couldn't really tell since it was sitting on the hood. Thanks for the thread superman.

I was able to perceive that angels were working twice in my life, once while I was giving birth and once while I was in the room with my Father as he was dying.

Both times there were two of them, and they did not want me to be aware of them..........................
But you, being the sharp discerner you are, was able to know they were there. My, I hope you didn't hurt their feelings by doing so. And all that time they thought they could get by you.

You must have a wonderful life, seeing as a mere human like you is able to see thru angels intents.

No I am not trying to say that. Sorry.
this is a very interesting topic thank you superman for posting it . I would like to give it the respect I think it deserves by trying to show some biblical point about angels .

gen 1 we know that god created all everything in context for man to have all that God knew he would need. So if God created all I think it is safe to say God created angels for His good pleasure 93 times is the word " angel used in the bible kjv. the first time it is used in scripture is in gen 19:1 ( Hebrew tran masculine noun messenger, representative mal'ak .
please remember a masculine noun is not saying angels are male the bible doesn't give no ref to sex. because noun is applied that means the action done in context to the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah was masculinity in action.

this translation is prominent of this up until Plams 8:5 when angel is translated as elohiym
rulers, judges. I would also say this passage is to speaking about the Lord Jesus Christ.

the Hebrew has other translations of angels but mostly speak of their action mighty, great in numbers. it is not until we get into the new testament that we see the Greek application for angel Matthew 4:6 (greek: aggelos a messenger, envoy, one who is sent, an angel, a messenger from God) and this is the main word in the new testament until Luke 20:36 where it isisaggelos an descriptive word which means like and angel this is the only time the word angel is not in context to Massager.

So the Majority of Scriptures both Old and New Testaments shows angels as Massagers of God. When they are not in this context very specific names are given to bring understand to the Elevations of a Position or title or exceptional Authority .

the context of angels doing in scripture what God has Commanded or sent them to do has to be seen God created them, God named them, and God sent them. and they bring judgment, ministering as did for Jesus after being in the wilderness tempted of the devil, messages, and Proclaim and we see in REV. They have a past, Present, and future work to do as God has Ordained for them to do.

What he is trying to say is SCIENCE CAN`T PROVE ANGELS existence or nonexistence because they r on another intertectual level than anything/one in the universe.
No that's not what I'm trying to say,

Guardian angels are not biblical, however they work for God to make a difference changing the course of fate but the Blood of Jesus, wisdom and Spirit of God protects.
Psalms 103:
20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.

22 Bless the LORD, all his works in all places of his dominion: bless the LORD, O my soul.

Psalms 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all (His angles) ministering spirits, sent out to serve for the sake of those (believers) who are heirs of salvation.

Well Superman, people get confused because of our tradition of calling cherubim/seraphim angels. Angels are almost always translated as messengers, as you pointed out. Sometimes it could be a heavenly cherubim, or it could be a man, or it could be God Himself (see Gen. 22:11-18). One time it was Balaam's donkey (Num. 22:28). An angel unawares in the New Testament we need to think more of a person.

Me, I don't want to see any. The more we are allowed to see, the less faith we need. I want to be like Elisha, believing without seeing. 2 Kings 6:17
"And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha."

There is no stand alone doctrine or literature to describe the origin of Angels. All references derive from the Holy scriptures. Angels are made by God. God has breath into the scriptures everything we need to know about these Heavenly beings.

Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

What is a Angel?
A Angel is:
1) messenger, a divine representative of God
a) the theophanic (a visible manifestation of a deity) angel

Angels serve in the capacities of, messengers, ministers, soldiers, choir, causing calamites and ambassadors. Angels are created to do the most profound to the smallest of acts ordered by God. God gave Moses the blue print to structure an image of two Cherubim fix atop of the Ark of the Covenant.

Not even Angels wants us to worship them. They have a perfect fear of reverencing God. In fact they will direct us to worship the Almighty.

Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship
him. And he said unto me, See [thou do it] not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy
If I may embellish a bit.........

a. There are also classes of Angels (Seraphim, Cherubim, etc)
b. We know for sure the names of 2 (Gabriel, Michael)
c. There seems to be a hierarchy within their ranks
d. They war with the fallen angels which attempt to hinder their service (Evidenced in Daniel)
e. They are compared to the chariots of the Lord (Psalm 68:17)
f. They are used to announce or bring judgment (Sodom and Gomorrah)
g. They proclaim the everlasting Gospel to all who dwell on the earth (Revelation)
h. They sang when God cast down the heaven and earth in creation
I. 1/3 fell with Lucifer when he was cast down
j. The inheritors of eternal life will judge the angels
k. The children have guardian angels that behold the face of God before the throne
l. There is rejoicing in heaven in the presence of the angels over one sinner that repents
m. They look upon humanity with curiosity and wonder while pondering why God would be so concerned with us
n. Humanity has been made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death

etc...........Many truths are given and some alluded to in the word.............

I agree with most of what you said, but angels are not Deity-which means God.

I absolutely believe in angels who help us: and my family and I personally believe we met one together[I believe I have met a few in my lifetime]. but the one that sticks in memory is the family meeting with an angel:

my second grandfather on my mother side died and we were travelling to his viewing/funeral and some how managed to turn onto the wrong highway. we were going to Owensboro, Ky and ended up in West Virginia with car issues stuck on the side of the road. literally for hours no vehicles passed by. it was so hopeless that my dad thought he should begin walking to find something. my aunt suggested we pray first. as we were praying a semi from nowhere showed up and stopped just beyond us. the driver got out and came to us and offered to take us to a truck stop another 1 1/2 hour drive down the road. this road literally only had a few stops for food and gas along the way. so we load up in his cab and he calls for a wrecker to pick up our vehicle.

anyways, we made it to the truck stop. but what was unusual was the driver was talking to us about God. he said, I know you are believers and will be heaven. he would talk to each one of us and tell us things to come. odd thing to say, but we just were happy for the ride. now, if you know anything about the highways in west virginia running east/west you know they go up and down continuously. very hilly with lots of high plateaus and low valleys. after we were safely dropped off at the truck stop we stood there along roadside watching this semi leave. it was just a feeling of awe in his presence and we just had to watch him leave. it was a gesture of kindness I/we had never knew before because there was safety and assurance in a complete stranger.

so we watch the semi climbing this plateau and reaching the peek before descending to the valley. the next rise was even higher and we just kept watching. according to my parents and both aunts with us, we had stood watching for nearly 45 minutes and never saw this semi again. it had just disappeared. when our vehicle was running we went the direction we watched the semi go since it was taking us back to Kentucky. no semi off to the side of the road or anywhere. it just vanished. it virtually was impossible to have escaped us as we stood there just watching.

to this very day, we believe we met an angel of God.

I have had a couple encounters with heavenly beings, maybe even the Lord Himself for my baptism. We decided to redo ours, my wife and I. So, we went to the mud flats at the edge of the lake to baptize each other. I took authority in Jesus’ name and dunked my wife. Then I took the palm of my hand and covered my nose and eyes waiting for her. She said that somehow (divinely moved?) , she was about 5 feet away from me; so she started toward me. To her surprise, I went straight back into the water and came back up. She said: “How did you do that?” I said: “do what?” I told her she dunked me, she said she didn’t. Something had grabbed me and did it for her; something invisible. We deduced it was an angel/cherub. I felt something pulling me down into the very deep, cold abyss of what felt like death. My eyes were closed, but I saw the surface of the water disappearing above me. It was very cold, and it felt like death. That was my vision of my baptism. We both came up speaking in tongues as the Lord promised.

A little later, we came to believe that a woman couldn’t do the job of a minister. That was why God did it the way He did. We put our doctrine together as a unit. The scriptures led us to believe the whole house can believe one way together. I was still driving the truck and the Lord told me I would have to give that up. I had a spinal-fusion surgery 5 years earlier, and I really had no business driving a truck. It is hard to quit when the money is good. So I did not share what the Lord told me, and He then told my wife also. It would be a big step of faith to just quit, so I didn’t.

Less than a month later, another truck pulls out of a truck stop at the Texas line and stalls across both my lanes. He was going north and I was heading south. At first, he was straddling the median area and my right most lane was clear. When I get right on top of him, he starts rolling backwards. I don’t know what to do so I kind of half get on the hard dirt outside the lane and hit my brakes. I immediately went into a high-speed jack-knife back across the road and wound up digging grass up in the median of the divided highway. The trailer was pushing the tractor sideways with the wheels plowing up sod. I didn’t even have my seatbelt on. When the rig came to rest, my driver’s door was flung open. I think the way things happened, I had divine intervention again, because I should have been ejected out that door. If I had gone out the door, I surely would have been sucked under the rig.
