What is the main purpose/goal of life-bits?

a) To post some short videos, photos from our lives (similar to instagram) so that others can share with us what they are doing, where they are etc...

b) To post memes, pictures from internet, so that others can share with us what they found in google

There are few of the a) types, but most of the life-bits seem to be without any connection to poster´s life...

I wanted to shared some pictures from my university, from train travel etc, but when I saw dozens of memes shared, it would seem inappropriate. So, how should it be used, properly?

Please do share that troffimus, that's actually what was intended, but also anything from your life including favorite music, favorite videos, or anything that interests you. So go ahead :)

In my opinion troffimus it would be lovely if people do start sharing videos etc as it makes them much more real, it deepens fellowship.
It is easy to put on a front and not really be open with others.

Tro you are absolutely right, I was thinking the exact same thing myself.

The actual life bits people want to share about themselves, are getting lost
in all the other stuff. That’s a shame as it would be really nice to get to
know each other a bit better.

Hi all...I just made an album so I can put all my garden flowers in as they bloom day by day praise God \:)/... I have to wait for it to be approved before I can see it or anyone else...By making my album , I won`t be hogging the life bits...I agree it would be wonderful if it could be used for real life purposes like vids etc , and not take it up with loads of pointless memos , sorry but I am just being honest , I love seeing the sunsets that people have posted , or meals or things that they have come across in the day , I hope more people use it for that manner , it`s nice if we can keep it personal and keep the google images away ...xox...

I haven't seen any "pointless memos" on there. They may be pointless to YOU, but very meaningful to others. :) Personally I like the encouragement quotes and bible verses that people put up there.. along with personal glimpses of their lives. :)

I'm actually hoping that RoboOp can limit the number of submits a user can post in a day. we've had a couple of users just shy of spamming this section with half a dozen to a dozen posts in a day.

Maybe it'll slow down once the novelty wears off.

Or at least a limit for amount of bits in a row from one user?

One person can post for example max 2 bits in a row and then he/she must wait for posts from another user before he/she is allowed to post another 2 bits.

My point was that when there are 20 images with Bible verses about Jesus etc, it seems inappropriate to post an ordinary photo like "this is me", lol.

So my question was whether life-bits should be really from our life, about us or if its just a board for everything without any system. I do not say that some people cannot be encouraged by memos, I was asking what is the planned purpose.

Yes, I liked when people posted their own pictures, their dogs, cats, gardens etc.

When it began to be flooded by googled pictures and motivation quotes I must admit that I stopped looking at it.

Speaking strictly for myself, I skim right past every meme, and almost all pics that do not have people in them. Maybe there could be categories.

Now you're dreaming dude. Life-bits is just too enticing for modern "look at me!" society.

I don't even pay attention to it any more. I tried to follow life-bits for a time but none of the bits were from users' lives. They were all googled up images from the internet, mostly memes or cute phrases. I gave up after a while, and now my life is better without all the bits.

Maybe if Robo finds a way to limit it to two life-bits per user, per day, it might be possible to find bits from people's actual lives in the clutter.

I believe there IS an option to add a video to the life-bits. As for some of my pix on there, many are from my faith book and are very important to me. :) Others are creations I've made through Pixlr photo editor.. Isn't that the purpose of life-bits? To show images from one's life, be it a bible verse, personal picture or whatever? :)

I think people will post different things, it can be encouraging seeing Bible verses, it is more personal when people explain why something is important or personally. However when we do that we make ourselves vonourable. Blue-ladybird what's your faith book?

Ephesians 2:19-22
Christ Our Cornerstone
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

I wish there were a way to not have it appear at all. The small number of pics of any interest is so minimal, for me, that I'd rather not have to see it at all.

I agree, without people in the pics or at least something that is of interest to them the life bit hold very little meaning. Seems that most of them are just computer generated

I agree with you. It would be best just to have this stuff in a album on their profile page. After a few life bits my eyes just glaze over. I would be very interested see life bits about the members but don't care to view hundreds of computer generated images or pics from google.
