Wow you had me going for a minute. rofl. Do not like that we can't tell who is male and female. I nominate the "Orange Kitty Brigade" to fix this issue! Once they get their paws on this I'm sure it will be solved.
Yes we must have our orange feline friend blue lady bug post more Garfield gifs in opposition to such a change lol!

I'm still wearing it - back after a few years. Lived through many changes of CC - remember when it first started out, and when we all had to re-register - lucky my screen name/handle wasn't robbed :) - that was the best ever chat board - think it probs flash but it was fun to use :)

Wait, you can't get the other reactions? I am never going to like a post of yours again. From now I will find your posts "friendly" or "happy" or "useful" just to gloat over my superior power XD.
:oops::eek::giggle::unsure:(y)

I just figured out how to do it too

So.... spread the knowledge.... maybe I'm closing the wrong eye, or something... I still only get the thumbs up...

Do you have pop-ups blocked, or something like that, maybe?

sure thing!

first off, there's two different sets of emoji that can be used.

Let's start with the ones that are in my post that you quoted there.

do you see the toolbar that's right above the reply box where you write posts? it starts with an eraser then I think there's a B for bold and and I for italics.

in that toolbar there should be a smiley face. what happens when you left click on it? it should bring up a set of emoji. you may need to click in the reply box first.

If that doesn't work, try right-clicking the smiley face.

Let me know what happens!

Yeah.... I can do those... no problem. It's the ones where you just want to "like" a post without replying. The only one I can get to work is the thumbs up. Other people can "like" posts with little hearts, etc...

look at the bottom of your post, #25.... Tinuviel "liked" your post with a little smiley face. I can't do that....

This is what it should look like (minus the "warn" tab at the bottom, that only shows on my screen) when you hover over the "like" button. Sometimes it takes a second or two for the options to pop up.

Right, so I'm using an Android phone with the Opera browser.
So I long press the thumbs up picture, which should correspond to a right click on a PC.
Do you have a phone you can test this out on?

Wow oh wow, what a change! I could hardly find my way around! What happened? How's everyone feeling about it? Who's still here. What the news CC? Hope everyone is well.
There has been considerable grumbling by quite a few members, myself included, about the wholesale overhaul of this site. The new format does not seem cozy to me and feels like a sterile environment.

I figured there would be something like that, but it just doesn't pop up for me... when I "hover" over the "like" button, all that pops up is the "like" button. I've been cheated.... CHEATED I tell ya....

This is a screenshot of what I get when I hovered over the like button on your response.... the cursor disappeared in the screenshot, but it was centered over the like button.

from that their screenshot it looks like you're using Internet Explorer, or is that edge? I'm not too familiar with Microsoft products.

I can't remember, did you say you've tried other browsers? if not, what happens if you try Firefox?

I haven't tried any other browsers. I don't know if I'm allowed to do that at my work computer, but I might try it at home.

Yes, you might try installing Firefox at home, if you don't have it already.
Then just try coming to CC and hovering the mouse over the like button

Let me know what happens!

another option I just thought of is to get a browser as a portable app.

Get a flash drive and go to

https://portableapps.com/apps

pick a browser, I've used Sea-Monkey portable before

https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/seamonkey_portable

download the installation file, run it and tell it to install to the flash drive.

now there will be a folder on the flash drive called, for example, Sea-Monkey portable.

open that folder and click on the exe file (I think). the browser should now begin to load and you can add favorites or save pages, passwords, whatever, and it will all be saved on that flash drive folder.

Then you can take that flash drive to any other computer (I think it has to be running Windows) and that same browser experience will load, without installing anything to any of the computers, including the computer you started with.
