Yes , I believe it was the father. Jesus always said he did not come to do his own will, but the will of the one who sent him.

Is it God the Father?
No, it is Jesus. Read Revelation chapter 14. Jesus was on a cloud, and was told to go harvest. He then harvested His people from the earth. After that an angel was told to harvest everyone else (grapes) who would go to the winepress (wrath of God).

And He was called the angel of the Lord in the old testament.

Is it God the Father?
1st Corinthians 3:5 Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?

3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase.

3:7 So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

Yes , I believe it was the father. Jesus always said he did not come to do his own will, but the will of the one who sent him.
It is Jesus who does the works of his Father as mentioned in John 5:17, 19.

According to Isaiah 9:6, the Child born to the virgin is called such titles as Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Counselor, Comforter...........and more........

With the above truth in mind, why the question goes on misunderstood?

God is One. Grammatically it may also be said, "One is God."

Listen to what the "harvesting Angels'" comments, concerning the "efforts" of their "labors!"

Matthew 13:28-30
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

It seems the "question" is: "Who does What, and When?", Not so much, with the "obvious tares", as it is fairly revealed in verse 30. But, What "TRANSPIRES IN THE BARN?" Yes? Where the tares are not so obvious! Or, when the tares are so "intertwined", usually, at "root/molecular/spiritual/atomic/ SUB-atomic/DNA/gene" level/s.

This is also fairly well revealed in the O.T. In Zachariah 13:9: "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God."

But, I get ahead of myself. Let's look earlier in chapter 13:2 - And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the Lord: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:

5 But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.

Yet, one may correctly ascertain in verse 6: "And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends": That this is what happens when one starts becoming "crucified with Christ!" This Occurs AFTER one, who has believed, and accepted, Christ, has "Confessed" Christ before man/men (non-genderized)! When, Christ has confessed "one" before His Father! This is just the "beginning stages" of "refinement!" The good news, is that you have been "dug up" root and all INTO THE BARN! Or? "The Father's Nursery." Where one is fed and watered and grows! Where? The Father, also referred to as the Government "On the Shoulders" that Christ bares, IS! WHERE, and when verse 9 comes into play! As the "refiner's fire" "seeks" the wheat! Like having one's feet held "close" to the fire! But, "like" the wheat" that one is, there is a "root structure!" Which includes, many tiny "tendrils", of the which? The "not so obvious" tares are as well! As one gains "more perfecting", or maturing? Verse 5, starts coming into play! As one's "judging of angels", spoken of in the N.T. will testify to. As one can guess, all this is done under the Father's supervision! Which, at times, when "things are going according to Hoyle ;), One may also think of it as one's holding one's OWN feet to the fire, as one (how can I say) "graduates(?)" from a "Priest of Jesus Christ (and Him crucified)", TO a Priest of God, IN Christ Jesus, and closer TO being "chosen" in candidacy, as a "fellow" "Priest" (but NOT High Priest), after the Order of Melchizadek!

Sometimes, I get a mite "carried away" in the "telling" of "one's experiences."

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; - Psalms 91: 1 & 9 (KJV)

Is it God the Father?
God shows himself as a Father and Son. Two metaphors as which that speak of his one immutable attribute as God, as the loving government of God .

I and the father are one... not that they became one but always were one God

God is not a man as us and neither is there a fleshly mediator set between God not seen, a man seen called a daysman in the scriptures .

The Son of man, Jesus refused to be call good teacher as master in that way. But said only God not seen is good. Therfore establishing we walk by faith and not by sight after the temporal things seen

God remains without mother and father, beginning of Spirit life or end thereof, typified as Melchisdiec in parables.... hiding the unsen spiritual understanding... but abides our High priest as the Son of God continually, supernaturally without beginning or end

Its takes two to form a loving government .I think we can se that practice of a perfect government or authority as that practiced perfectly in the God head or what some call the trinity. Not one person of the Godhead ever works independently of the other or for selfish reasons.

In the God head there is complete satisfaction and never a thought of seeking another position . The loving father submits to the Son(John 5:19, 16:13 ) the Son willing submits to the will of the father (Mathew 26:39: Philippians 2:5-8; Hebrews 10:7).

Together it makes for a living harmony, as the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding. Not just a mechanical order. But living abiding of the Holy Spirit that live in us as Emanuel God with us, and not of us ..

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.John 6:45
