I just toured Sony Movie studios in LA. Our guide told us that many female actresses have it in their contract that they must be present for only 70% of their characters scenes in the movie. For example, if the scene requires a close-up of their legs or breasts, they might mandate a female double to be case in that scene. So my first question is this:
(1) Why are female actresses so vain or insecure?
(2) Why won't the mods allow my thread on NDEs to be started?
1) Because they know the only thing they can sell in the movie industry is their looks and they know look fades, more young actresses come all the time, they have no career to fall back on when their looks are not selling anymore.
2)Mods have their reasons. I don't even know what NDE is

I know us men are supposed to be chivalrous, but are there any true good hearted women still out there?
When you find one, you should hold on to her.
Should I ship you with Littlemermaid. She is the right age and as good hearted as it gets!

Questions I have been too polite to ask...

Where are all the vacationers on Sunday morning? I know some church attendance drops because people are out on vacation, but we don't see a lot of church attendance rise in other churches. I mean sure there might be one or two new faces in churches near the beach during vacation season, but nowhere near as many as most churches are losing at that time.

But I've always been too polite to ask.

Prophetic in the Bible that there will be a "great falling away"...

I know this question was already answered but I had a few things I wanted to add. I'm certainly no expert on any of this but knew a few people who were trying to get into modeling.

I had a friend in high school who was outstandingly beautiful and told she should model since she was a kid so later on in high school she gave it a try. She got a few local jobs, but soon gave it up because she said she absolutely hated the business.

For instance, in order to get jobs, you have to go to a casting call (I could be getting these terms wrong--anyone out there who knows better, please feel free to correct me), which is basically an interview, and she told me that you walk into a room of people who immediately tell you everything they hate about the way you look, walk, and carry yourself--any little visual flaw they can find (or imagine), they will point it out and talk about it with each other in front of you. She said that as soon as she walked into one such call, a woman immediately said, "I hate her hair--it has to go. She'd definitely have to cut it off."

It's a toxic atmosphere in which your entire livelihood is based on looks and how far you can go with them, and in order to keep working, you have to keep up the look that everyone deems is fashionable. I saw an interview a while back with Paulina Porizkova, a very famous model from the 80's, who explained that how you look becomes everything--it's the only thing that will get you jobs, and you become dependent on your looks to make sure you're able to obtain everything your family needs, from school supplies to health insurance. In other words, if you're NOT always worried about your looks and trying to maintain or improve them, you won't get any jobs. It's like any other career--you have to concentrate on, and stay on top of, the skills or characteristics that will bring you work.

My then-husband was trying to break into modeling as well, and we went to a few open calls in which some of the agents would sit at a table and bark soul-crushing criticisms at many of the hopeful applicants, even though many of them were just young kids.

Imagine being a size 2 (for all the guys who aren't familiar with women's sizes, that's pretty doggone tiny), walking into a roomful of 300-lb. chainsmoking men, and having them all tell you how fat and disgusting you are and that you need to lose a good 25 pounds (I've read that the current industry standard requires that most female fashion models be a size 0--or smaller.) As if that's not bad enough, now days, even if you get a job, the entire world will be sitting there waiting to criticize your every perceived "flaw" with just a few taps on their phones.

Needless to say, my friend from high school was perfectly happy to walk away from all that--and later became an attorney instead.

I actually don't see how A. (being present for 70% of contract, having doubles during close-up scenes) leads to conclusion B. (female actresses are insecure).. In the case of having doubles, does it have to be an insecurity thing? Maybe they're simply not interested in shooting a nude scene in front of their cast OR they just do not want the entire world to see them naked. In some scenes we see nudity is implied (ie we see characters in bed together or something); in these cases as well the actors would have to be naked to shoot these scenes (hence the body doubles for close ups that still imply the character being naked). Both actors and actresses can sign "nudity clauses", stipulating they do not want to shoot nude scenes in whatever shape, form or fashion.
I'm sure there's loads of actresses (as many other women) that are insecure about their looks. I'm sure the same goes for men.
Not sure I'd say that signing a nudity clause means someone is deeply insecure..

Children are one of the main reasons for children and it says that they are a gift we should never turn down gifts cx especially from someone who cares about you, plus kids are great they are a handful but still great. WHY DON'T PEOPLE LIKE KIDS? tends to be men mainly i think men these days including myself just don't want more responsibilities and kids bring tons of them but that's a foolish reason to not want children especially seeing that we are supposed to die to self so yea just my thoughts or whatevs
The younger generations (warning broad generalization coming) have been raised up into narcissistic, selfish, responsibility dodging adults. A large percentage of the Millennials are shunning parenthood because it would require self sacrifice and interrupt their fun.

(1) What does it matter? In reality why does our entertainment require that women be routinely reduced to nothing more that a piece of meat that is to be objectified because of her voluptuous breasts and shapely legs or derriere?

2) The thread deletion note clearly stated that it was deleted because
a: The OP was rampant with hyperlinks to another christian forum because
b: the OP was plagiarized (copy and pasted) from said other christian forum

I love kids. I would love to have one (or two). The only thing that scares me is the way schools and kids are now on social media. Teens are killing themselves because of bullying and the schools do nothing about it.

Do you need a physical building to worship? Do you need to attend a service to hear or read the Word of God?
Do you need someone to say "let's pray" to pray?

Single men and women: say you meet a wonderful person, and you connect on so many levels but there is one huge language barrier (say both of you are from different countries) that come with different cultures and traditions, would that stop you from pursuing them further?

IMO, nothing has really changed since you and I were in school. There have always been the bullies and the bullied within schools and invariably when the school does step in (on the rare occasions that bullying gets reported) the repercussions for the person who "snitched" are worse than the original bullying.

What has changed in a big way since we were in school is the advent of social media and the breakdown of the family unit. The person who is bullied now deals with it 24/7 instead of just a couple of hours at school every day and of course since the family has devolved in many cases to nothing more than a handful of genetically related persons coexisting under the same roof without any real intimacy, children easily begin to think that no one really cares whether they live or die.

As much as it made harder, it also makes.bullies more vulnerable. I was getting threats before (5th grade or so) per facebook and so I printed it out and gave it to the school psychologist. He took care of that really fast.
It gives literal proof of anything and everything

Its not just suicides now, its also school shootings like Dylan Roof and the Columbine massacre. Back when I was in school, the bullies would get sent to the principle's office without question. Nowadays the schools and teachers do nothing. There have been cases in the past few years where the parents notified the school that the child was being bullied and told them who was doing it and the schools did nothing. And then the child ended up hanging themselves... Another thing that is different today is that kids are getting bullied for ridiculous reasons. When I was a kid, it was only the quiet or very different kid who got bullied. Now they are targeting kids for all sorts of things.
