as well as others that think that it's possible to lose salvation. Heck, I was in that boat a long time before it sank!
You were in the 'I must work and continue to work to earn salvation' boat, not the 'I must continue to believe to be saved' boat. And if you think that you can stop believing and you will still be saved, then you're in yet another boat besides those two .

Heres more narrative

PARABLE OF THE LOST SHEEP

"The parable shares themes of loss, searching, and rejoicing with the Parable of the Lost Coin.[1] The lost sheep or coin represents a lost human being.

As in the analogy of the Good Shepherd, Jesus is the shepherd, thus identifying himself with the image of God as a shepherd searching for stray sheep in Ezekiel Ezekiel 34:11–16.[1] Joel B. Green writes that "these parables are fundamentally about God, ... their aim is to lay bare the nature of the divine response to the recovery of the lost."[2]

The rejoicing of the shepherd with his friends represents God rejoicing with the angels. The image of God rejoicing at the recovery of lost sinners contrasts with the criticism of the religious leaders which prompted the parable.[2]"

Has anyone ever met someone who they were fully convinced was previously a genuine born again Christian and we’re also convinced that later they stopped believing and maybe even became an atheist? I’m yet to the meet such a person and I’ve had discussions with multiple people on numerous Christian websites who claim to fall into the category of ex-Christian, yet when I interrogated them and asked them what they previously believed to become a Christian, but no longer believe, I never received a satisfactory answer.

@PennEd ..i suppose iron sharpens iron..lol. But iron can also cut..;)
Iron is not what we want to come on us. It's an interesting study to find out the meanings of different metals according to scripture.

Iron is natural truth, the complete opposite of gold which is Gods true nature. Natural truth, the rod, will crush a person. Condemned. Truth who is Jesus is innocence, free.

Holy Spirit gave me a poem about His hammer and for His own it's not a rod. Remember the words of Paul to the Corinthians? How shall I come to you, with a rod or with love.

It's then said in another place that it's the goodness of the Lord that causes repentance.

Lifting up the truth of the Cross draws all men.

It's taken me too many years and too many failures to see this truth. So we redeem the time we have left. Starting with family for me.

Are we giving freedom or bondage with our words?

Nothing will change what lost and what found means.
Ever heard the idiom "can't see the forest for the trees"?

You are purposely diverting attention from the information Jesus wanted to impart and misdirecting to what you want conveyed.

How about we stick with what Jesus wanted the pharisees and scribes (Luke 15:2-3) to know, hmmmm?

He spoke the parables because the pharisees and scribes secluded themselves from publicans and sinners and also had the audacity to murmur because Jesus received publicans and sinners and ate with them.

So what does Jesus want the pharisees and scribes to know? That publicans and sinners are in need of repentance? The pharisees and scribes already believed that.

So what was the point of the parables? And look at the overall point Jesus makes in the parables in Luke 15 and 16.

Don't remain myopic and miss the whole point.

Found = Reconciled to God: Justified - Declared to be right with God.

Lost = Seperated from God. Unjust. Unrighteous. A Sinner in need of repentance.
I have asked both you and Ralph the following question before and neither you nor Ralph will answer. Hopefully, you will answer now:

The believer does not turn into an unbeliever. The believer is still born again. He or she is no longer walking in light of who he or she is in Christ Jesus, but that does not mean he or she is not born again.
What happens to the "new man" within the born again one under your scenario?
Ephesians 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

A natural truth is it not? The law presents boundaries that if crossed will bring judgement.

A good spanking will cause obedience with fear. May or may not bring love. That will depend on the way it is given. Is this true or not? :)

Isaiah 41:7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

I reposted The Hammer but this scripture backs the truth of it and shows again the way of the Lord, and that He loses none to His own.

Isaiah 41:7 So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.

It's probably more well known by it's other name - Freegrace. It teaches that you can even stop believing all together and you are still saved. I don't know exactly when it reared it's ugly head in the church but it's become very popular in the last few years. You can see right away how vastly different and contradictory this new 'once saved always saved' view is compared to the traditional Calvinistic 'once saved always saved' view which says the person who stops believing was never really saved to begin with. I see more and more people going with the new version of 'once saved always saved'. It effectively relieves the believer of all responsibility to live for Christ in a continuing faith.
R...,
Thanks.
Never heard of it...I thought OSAS was bad enough..

Typical new age religion interpretation of The Bible ....coming out of the 1960's moral and social revolution....designed to disregard G-d's word so one can live a fictitious "christian" life without moral values....typical leftist.

I have a brother-in-law who was clearly a believer, but now is clearly an agnostic and an unbeliever! To try to say that he was not a believer to start with - well - I walked with him and knew him and I know he believed and changed and was born again!

I believe that once i was saved i have COMPLETE ASSURANCE that i AM and will REMAIN saved BUT the video that was posted is NOT the saved by grace..its a perversion so you cant compare the two..if your ONLY understanding is the OSAS video..i feel sorry for you..especially for the fact that you have NO ASSURANCE in salvation unless you CONTINUE to do good works and you have NO true knowledge of God..whay Jesus accomplished on the cross and NO knowlege of His AMAZING GRACE...
J...,
You are correct...so long as you ...."maintain until the end".... (death).
However, a slight correction...we are not ..."saved"...until G-d judges ads says we are saved. Until then we are of a repented status
Who is advocating other than that?

Well, I hear what you're saying Jewell, and there is certainly merit to it, but people don't become Christian, or NOT Christian because they see vigorous, and sometimes contentious debate. I'm truly sorry if my posts come off as that.
People become Christian by hearing the PURE, UNADULTERATED, GOSPEL! They can hear all sorts of 'different' gospels everywhere. I'd hope that in here they could be confident in receiving the One True Gospel.

Now I have to go sulk for awhile. Chester gave me an X! lol

Just kiddin. Chester knows I love him, as well as others that think that it's possible to lose salvation. Heck, I was in that boat a long time before it sank!
Even my Pastor, who I love dearly has yet to abandon that Titanic. I thank God, that it is JESUS that keeps them saved as well as me.
Ha! Now who is lying? Where did I give you an X? Bet you can't find it -- . . . !!!!!!!!!

(Actually - confession time - I did give you an X because I really disagreed with you and felt that what you said was not fairly presenting the Gospel - but then my conscience smote me and I changed it! I guess you caught when I first gave it!)

I think I need to talk to your pastor! Wonder what his line would be?

I thing I have discovered is that much depends on a person's background. I have found deep meaningful assurance of salvation in Christ. To go to OSAS would cause me to doubt my salvation every time my works did not measure up - (because then I must not have been saved to start with). The OSAS argument just does not make any sense to me nor can I find it in the Bible in any sense at all!

So please, PennEd, don't go and sulk! You do that too long and you might wonder if you were ever saved to begin with! . . . . lol!
