Has this been fulfilled yet about burning the weapons?

so I was listening to a podcast of this section while I was out walking this morning and I realized that this passage must have already been fulfilled,
or it's highly symbolic,
or there will be some drastic reduction of technology in the future.

I say that because today we would not burn the weapons of warfare, most of which would not burn anyways, and especially not burn them for cooking fires which seems to be the implication above.

Or maybe there's another option?

I don't know about that occurring in Israel as I am not familiar with their gun laws.
However, as I recollect in Great Britain when their strict gun laws passed in Parliament people were ordered to turn over personal firearms. Even if they were very valuable antiques.
And supposedly these were then melted down. Though I doubt very much the valuable antiques were.

You are correct that it is history. So is Lk 21:20-24, where it talks about the swords. These things have already happened.

The confusion comes when some don't recognize that they are in the past and apply them to the future.

Many want to apply the things showing the 70 ad destruction to future events, which they are not (Lk 21:20-24).

What has happened and what has not happened. This is the key to understanding the prophecies.

Jesus coming for the kingdom and the resurrection have yet to happen.

In my humble opinion, Daniel 12:4-7 is the key to understanding the prophetic time line.

It proves that the 7 times are not 7 years, but the time from Babylon until 1967, when Israel is restored to Jerusalem. It is the same time as shown by the statue in Daniel 2.

Please study and concentrate on these few verses. Dwell on them.

Ezekiel 38 and 39 has not been fulfilled yet, but it is speaking of the battle of Armageddon which is the beast and the world that makes war against Jerusalem, the Jews.

Eze 38:8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

This shall occur in the latter years, which is the end time, and the Jews are back on their land.

The Bible says that 70 weeks is determined upon Israel to make an end of sins, and to anoint the most holy, which means to be in the truth that Jesus is their Messiah.

69 weeks have passed with 1 week to go, 7 years, which is the time that God causes all people that do not love Him to follow the beast kingdom in Revelation, so He can end this sin business on earth.

And brings Israel to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah.

Israel is blinded in part, they acknowledge the Old Testament for the most part but not the New, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in, when salvation is no longer available to them, and so all Israel shall be saved.

Repentance and salvation is still available to the world for the first three and one half years, then the beast deceives all people that does not love God, and when they take the mark of the beast then salvation is no longer available to them, and the fulness of the Gentiles have come in, and God will turn Israel as a nation to the truth that Jesus is their Messiah for the last three and one half years by way of 2 witnesses, and the Jews that know the truth shall instruct many concerning the truth, and at the end of the three and one half years Israel as a nation will be in the truth.

God said He is going to gather all nations together against Jerusalem to battle, and make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the nations, and anybody that burdens themselves with her shall be cut in pieces, although all the earth is gathered together against her, and then the LORD shall go forth and fight against those nations as He did in the day of battle, and the LORD my God shall come and all the saints with Him.

The LORD shall be King over all the earth, and in that day there shall be one LORD, and His name one, and the kingdom on earth restored to Israel, which God will make a full end of all Gentile nations, their governmental rule, but not make a full end of Israel but will not leave her wholly unpunished, and everyone that is left of the nations that went against Israel has to go up year after year to Jerusalem to worship the LORD.

Eze 38:16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
Eze 38:17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
Eze 38:18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
Eze 38:19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
Eze 38:20 So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
Eze 38:21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.
Eze 38:22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.
Eze 38:23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

This is the battle of Armageddon when Jesus fights the world and defeats them and saves Israel, and God is sanctified in the eyes of the nations that He is God, and then the world will know God and that He rules, in which the millennial reign will begin.

This will occur at the latter years, which also says the latter days, so it is a future prophesy.

Eze 39:1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
Eze 39:2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

God will leave a sixth of the people that went against Israel, which are the ones Jesus and the saints rule over, and they have to go up year after year to Jerusalem to worship Jesus.

Eze 39:7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
Eze 39:8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
Eze 39:9 And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
Eze 39:10 So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
Eze 39:12 And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
Eze 39:13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
Eze 39:14 And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
Eze 39:15 And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
Eze 39:16 And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.

God will make His name holy in the midst of His people Israel, and the heathen will know the God of Israel, the true God, and the heathen will not be able to mess with them again, and the Jews will burn the weapons, and bury the dead people to cleanse the land for 7 months, even employing the heathen that is near to help them.

This is in the beginning of the millennial reign of Christ.

I suppose gun stocks is a possibility, I hadn't thought of that. I think that would be a different situation in Israel for them to be using wood from gun stocks for cooking fires. Do people in Israel generally cook over wood fires today?

Yes, I grew up with the idea that Ezekiel 38 and 39 were in the future. Strange though to think of people burning modern weapons, like tanks?

Sorry about not explaining clearly.

The 7 years in Ezek are to be taken as literal, I believe, just as the spears, bows, etc. are literal. It is not related directly to Daniel 12 except that the symbolic meaning of 7 is complete, showing a complete victory in Ezek..

In Daniel 12:4-7, The angel says that the time that it will be from Babylon until the 70 AD scattering will be 3 1/2 times. History shows that the first 3 1/2 times are not years, but a much longer period, centuries.

The second 3 1/2 times is from 70 AD until 1967, is then completing the 7 times when Israel is restored to control of Jerusalem Lk 21:20-24, 24, ending the times of the gentiles (ToG's). It is these second 3 1/2 times that is the focus of the Revelation. The 7 times are the same time period as shown in the statue of the nations that rule over the people of Israel in Daniel 2.

They might not go against Israel with tanks, but only hand held weapons, and this is Israel they go against in which Israel is protected for the 7 years period from physical attack.

The beast makes war against the saints for the last three and one half years, but he cannot go against Israel as a nation as much as he would like to go against Israel, for the beast in controlled by Satan but he cannot go against Israel.

Why is that.

During the first three and one half years the man of sin bombs the Arab nations with nuclear weapons, which the Bible says he plucks them up by the roots, and they are devastated, which causes the world to accept the man of sin as the solution to bring peace upon the earth.

The logical solution for the beast would be to bomb Israel with nuclear weapons and put an end to them quickly, and not have to deal with them face to face, but he does not do that.

Why is that.

The truth is the whole world could go against Israel with every weapon on the planet, and they would fail, and they could throw every nuclear weapon and bomb towards Israel, and they would fail, for God will not allow it and Israel must prosper, and she shall prosper, for Israel has to stand, and survive, and come to the truth for God's plan to continue going forward, and that is for Jesus to rule the earth for 1000 years, and the kingdom restored to Israel, for Jesus mist fulfill the role of perfect King on earth for the law to be fulfilled.

The same as it would of never entered Adam and Eve's mind to eat of the forbidden fruit unless an outside source tempted them, but God gave them a choice so God allowed Satan to tempt Eve and she sinned, and Eve was the outside source that tempted Adam by showing him she did not die and he sinned.

God is in control and we cannot do anything if He does not allow it, and He does not allow the beast to use nuclear weapons against Israel which would be the logical choice, which he used against the Arab nations, so he probably does not use tanks, and might not use modern day weapons like guns either.

But I do not know about the whether he will use guns or not.

Also in the Bible they did not know how to call things concerning the future, but would use terms back them to describe things in the future, so when Ezekiel said spears, and handstaves, and bows and arrows, they could of used guns, but Ezekiel did not know they would be called guns, or rifles.

Also spears and the such are made of metal also, and it could be that they actually use spears and that sort of weapon for God might not allow them to use modern day weapons, and they might of depleted the modern day weapons whole fighting against all the people that rebelled against the beast kingdom during the last three and one half years, and all the fighting they did during the first three and one half years, which when they say Peace and safety then sudden destruction comes upon them, which a lot of it is fighting the people that oppose them.

And when they take the mark of the beast then they are controlled by the devil like the man of sin, and they will not think by their human mind but only how the devil wants them to think for they will have the nature of a devil, so they might not think to use modern day weapons, or to manufacture weapons that were depleted, and the devils cannot do anything unless God allows it.

So God might not allow the people to use modern day weapons, so they would not stand a chance at hurting any of the Jews unless they get close, but they will not get close enough for Jesus defeats them with the brightness of His coming, which the Jews run in to a split mountain, the Mount of Olives, to shield them from the rays that shine forth from Jesus body that melts their flesh off their bones.

But when it calls the weapons spears, and bows and arrows, it could still mean guns, and rifles, and modern day weapons, for they did not know to call them that.

Nah 2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
Nah 2:4 The chariots shall rage in the streets, they shall justle one against another in the broad ways: they shall seem like torches, they shall run like the lightnings.

This is obviously talking about vehicles, cars, trucks, and the such, but Nahum did not know to call them those names, so he said chariots, which was his term for transportation.

Isa 31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
Isa 31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

This appears to speaking of the 6 day war when Israel used jets to pave the way to win the war and took control of Jerusalem. Did not know to call them jets, or aircraft, so said like birds flying.

So when Ezekiel said spears, and bows and arrows, does not mean they did not use modern day weapons, but he did not know to call them that, for it might throw people off when it says spears, and bows and arrows, that it would of had to of been in the past, but that does not mean it happened in the past for Ezekiel did not know to call them by their name of modern day weapons, and God did not reveal those name to him.

Eze 39:21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
Eze 39:22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
Eze 39:23 And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.

But we do know that Ezekiel 38, 39, is a future prophesy, for when it happens Israel as a nation will be in the truth and will know the LORD their God from that day forward, and will never stray again for God will not hide His face from them anymore, so if it was in the past Israel as a nation would be in the truth today, but they are not, so it has to be a future prophesy, and also Ezekiel speaks of the battle of Armageddon when the world attacks Israel which is in the future.
