The symbolism of eggs and bunnies goes back to the goddess Ishtar the goddess of sex. Notice the similarity to Easter. Eggs represent new life and rabbits are notorious for rapid reproducing. Pagans are not atheists but those who believed in many gods in nature somewhat like the ancient gods of the Romans and Greeks. They were viewed as nature related gods. Many Celtic in origin.
Wrong..EGGS represent "new life" but I posted a long definition to dispute all your "enlightened Facebook theory" lol

Any serious look into any of this is easily found, here are a few sources, I could give more than 20....

The Encyclopedia Britannica

Like the Easter Egg, the Easter Hare came to Christianity from antiquity. The hare is associated with the moon in the legends of ancient Egypt and other peoples... Through the fact that the Egyptian word for hare—um, means also open and period. The hare came to be associated with the idea of periodicity both lunar and human, and with the beginning of new life in both the young man and young woman, and so a symbol of fertility and of the renewal of life. Easter eggs and rabbits are the symbols of sexual fertility in the ancient, pagan religions.

Dictionary of CHRISTIANITY in AMERICA EASTER

Easter. An annual celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The precise origin and development of the celebration of Easter remain obscure, though it is likely that the early church annually celebrated the event of Christ's resurrection as a parallel to the Jewish Passover celebration. The gospels relate that it was during the Passover season that Christ died and rose from the dead. This connection with Passover is the origin of another ancient name for Easter, Pascha, derived from the Greek equivalent of the Hebrew name for the festival. The Council of Nicea in 325 decreed that Easter should be celebrated on the first Sunday after the vernal equinox, but the dating of Easter continued to be a matter of controversy within the church. The celebration of Easter developed as part of a liturgical complex including the events of Holy Week and the preparatory period of Lent. Churches with a strong liturgical tradition reflect in their worship the drama of Christ's movement toward the cross and the climax in the victory of the resurrection. From as early as the third century, new adult converts kept expectant vigil throughout Saturday night, were baptized early on Easter morning and then received their first Communion. The celebration of Easter has included the use of light—traditionally candles—to symbolize theophany and the triumph of Christ over darkness. The practice of the vigil continues in liturgical church traditions, with the so-called Paschal Vigil capping the Easter triduum or three days of services. The service consists of Old Testament lessons mixed with psalms and prayers. More recently, the baptismal liturgy has been replaced by a renewal of baptismal vows. Easter Communion, or Eucharist is an important occasion in most church traditions, and for those who only rarely take Communion it is frequently viewed as obligatory. In the Greek Orthodox Church, individuals greet one another on Easter with the words "Christ is risen," to which they receive the response "he is risen indeed." The Orthodox celebrate Saturday evening with a candlelight procession outside the church. On entering the church the pealing of bells marks the beginning of the Easter Morning Prayer, which is followed by the Eucharist. In America, evangelical and other Protestant churches frequently hold Easter sunrise services in addition to their regular worship. These early-morning gatherings are usually held outdoors in a park setting. Larger ecumenical gatherings may be hosted by a local ministerial association and are held in open stadiums or other large outdoor gathering places. These services include the joyous singing of hymns celebrating the resurrection, the reading of the resurrection account from one of the gospels, prayers and preaching. Easter is also an occasion for wearing new clothes and a traditional time for the extended family to gather and share a meal, typically including ham. The celebration of Easter, at least for Anglo-Saxons, originally seems to have supplanted a pagan celebration of Spring, With the growth of religious pluralism and secularism in American culture, vestiges of the original pagan celebration—such as the fertility symbols of eggs and rabbits—have provided a popular alternative theme of celebration. Inevitably, this has eroded the formerly dominant Christian interpretation of the day.

The Last Two Million Years by The Reader’s Digest Association, page 215

Pagan rites absorbed By a stroke of tactical genius the Church, while intolerant of pagan beliefs, was able to harness the powerful emotions generated by pagan worship. Often, churches were sited where temples had stood before, and many heathen festivals were added to the Christian calendar. Easter, for instance, a time of sacrifice and rebirth in the Christian year, takes its name from the Norse goddess Eostre, in whose honor rites were held every spring. She in turn was simply a northern version of the Phoenician earth-mother Astarte, goddess of fertility. Easter eggs continue an age-old tradition in which the egg is a symbol of birth; and cakes which were eaten to mark the festivals of Astarte and Eostre were the direct ancestors of our hot-cross buns.”

The Dictionary of Mythology, Folklore, and Symbols, Part 1, page 487, Spring Festival:

‘‘It incorporates some of the ancient Spring Equinox ceremonies of sun worship in which there were phallic rites and spring rites, and in which the deity or offering to the deity was eaten...The festival is symbolized by an ascension Lily...a chick breaking its shell, the colors white and green, the egg, spring flowers, and the Rabbit. The name is related to Astarte, Ashtoreth, Eostre and Ishtar, goddess who visited and rose from the underworld. Easter yields ‘Enduring Eos’... ‘Enduring Dawn’.’’ Part of this spring festival centered around phallic rites.

There was no Catholic organization by thast name for centuries after Christ...........Do no say there was for even in the Word you have examples of Assemblies of Christ in many locations, none of which were ever referred to as Castholic... This is true for any named denominatios, even those under the umbrell of Judaism.
The organization that was established at the time of Christ that accepted Christ as Savior was called "The Way". At first it was composed of mostly orthodox Jews who would have been amazed that anyone would deny God's commands for them to follow because God sent a Son to die for our sins. Part of their worship was to follow Jesus and the Father and keep separated from what they called the nations

People who grew up under parents who were of the nations and idol worshippers took over leadership of the church and labeled followers of The Way Judaizers. The church still does.

For thousands of years nations all had their own God, all but the Jews had gods they created themselves. They originated with the spirit of demons. Demons, from the time of Eve to today, copy God. They are not original thinkers. Their message is always to follow them and they will give what the Lord gives us. So as has been pointed out, the pagan ways have been Christianized. Christ is the light of the world, so they say Christmas was to celebrate the light. Demons say to pretend that light is Christ.

When we follow Jesus, it means that we follow the Father. Jesus told us so. Jesus said also that the way is narrow. You can't make over ways created against God to make them for Him. We die to sin with Christ, and follow Christ all the way. We were given lots of days for celebrating the Lord. The Seven feasts each give a part of the picture God has for our salvation, we are to follow that.

Jerome (4th Century "church father") described these Nazarenes as those "...who accept Messiah in such a way that they do not cease to observe the old Law." (Jerome; On. Is. 8:14).

See Isa 8:14, Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12

Council of Laodicea (4th Century) Canon 29

Christians must not judaize by resting on the Sabbath, but must work on that day, rather honouring the Lord's Day; and, if they can, resting then as Christians. But if any shall be found to be judaizers, let them be anathema from Christ.

Acts 9:1-2, “But Sha’ul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Master, having come to the high priest, asked from him letters to the congregations of Dammeseq, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, to bring them bound to Yerushalayim.”

well, since you are a judaizer, I see why you have an issue with honoring the Lord's day, and not the Sabbath, which gentiles were never commanded to keep anyway.

well, since you are a judaizer, I see why you have an issue with honoring the Lord's day, and not the Sabbath, which gentiles were never commanded to keep anyway.
Isaiah 56:1-7, “Thus said יהוה, “Guard right-ruling, and do righteousness, for near is My deliverance to come, and My righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man who does this, and the son of man who becomes strong in it, guarding the Sabbath lest he profane it, and guarding his hand from doing any evil. And let not the son of the gentile who has joined himself to יהוה speak, saying, ‘יהוה has certainly separated me from His people,’ nor let the eunuch say, ‘Look I am a dry tree.’ For thus said יהוה, “To the eunuchs who guard My Sabbaths, and have chosen what pleases Me, and are holding onto My covenant: to them I shall give in My house and within My walls a place and a name better than that of sons and daughters – I give them an everlasting name that is not cut off. Also the sons of the gentile who join themselves to יהוה, to serve Him, and to love the Name of יהוה, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and are holding onto My covenant, them I shall bring to My set-apart mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer. Their ascending offerings and their sacrifices are accepted on My altar, for My house is called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

Constantine, worshiper of Mithra until the day he died said:

Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church Volume 3 (Edinburgh: 1884): 380, note.
"On the venerable Day of the sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country, however, persons engaged in agriculture may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits: because it often happens that another Day is not so suitable for grain sowing or for vine planting: lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost.ii"

Eusebius, Life of Constantine Vol. III Ch. XVIII Life of Constantine (Book III)
"... it appeared an unworthy thing that in the celebration of this most holy feast we should follow the practice of the Jews, who have impiously defiled their hands with enormous sin, and are, therefore, deservedly afflicted with blindness of soul. ... Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd; for we have received from our Saviour a different way."

Luke 16:16-17, "The Law and the Prophets were until John, since that time the Kingdom of YHWH is preached, and every man is pressed to enter it. But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one yodh of the Law to fail."

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against YHWH, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of YHWH, and think to change appointed times and Laws…"

truth or tradition?

Do not learn the way of the heathen...

The Encyclopedia Britannica, Volume II (1943-1973), Christmas:

‘‘In the Roman world, the Saturnalia was a time of merrymaking and exchanging of gifts. December 25th was also regarded as the birth date of the Iranian Mystery god, Mithra, the Sun of Righteousness. On the Roman New Year houses were decorated with greenery and lights and gifts were given to children. To these observances were added the German and Celtic Yule rites... Food and good fellowship, the Yule log and Yule cakes, greenery and fir trees, gifts and greetings all commemorated different aspects of this festive season. Fires and lights, symbols of warmth and lasting life have always been associated with the winter festival, both pagan and Christian.’’

Usually this topic doesn't come up until mid-December. I guess the OP was bored and wanted to stir the controversy pot.
This thread is out of order as the pagan Halloween threads usually come first.

when John said he was " in the Sprit on the Lord's day ". he did NOT say Sabbath. different greek word.

and, no, I am no fan of Constantine, as my pastor says " rome was a lot more empire than holy ". but there were already believers meeting on the first day of the week.

so, there is no N.T. command to keep the Sabbath. when the same John said what the commands were, he did not say Sabbath.

"in the spirit" is not even a specific day, John was in vision... during the "day of YHWH" it is spoken of in Scripture more than any other prophecy and it is the return of the Messiah... Revelation explins it's events in detail... And all your first day of the week verses are not what you make them out to be...There is no day connecting "the Lord's day" to sunday... as He did not even resurrect on sunday:

By all 4 accounts He had already Resurrected before the 1st day/ Sunday

Matthew 28:1-6, "”But late in the sabbath, as it was dawning into day one of the week, Miryam from Maḡdala and the other Miryam came to see the tomb. And see, there was a great earthquake, for a messenger of יהוה came down out of heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. And his appearance was like lightning, and his garments as white as snow. And the guards trembled for fear of him, and became like dead men. And the messenger responding, said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek יהושע who was impaled. He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Master lay.”

“it was dawning into day one of the week”...“He is not here, for He was raised”

Mark 16:1-6, “And when the Sabbath was past, Miryam from Maḡdala, and Miryam the mother of Ya‛aqoḇ, and Shelomah bought spices, to go and anoint Him. And very early on day one of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, “Who shall roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?” And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large. And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a white robe, and they were greatly astonished. And he said to them, “Do not be much astonished. You seek יהושע of Natsareth, who was impaled. He was raised – He is not here! See the place where they laid Him.”

“very early on day one of the week”...“He was raised – He is not here”

Luke 24:1-3, “But on day one of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. And having entered, they did not find the body of the Master יהושע.”

“on day one of the week, at early dawn”...“they did not find the body of the Master יהושע”

John 20:1, “And on the first day of the week Miryam from Maḡdala came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.”

the greek word for lord can be translated into Messiah . so, as usual, you and your watchtower influenced translation have it wrong.

when John said " Lords day" , it certainly translates " Messiah's day, day meaning , day.

so, no nothing about that statement implies Sabbath.

Where in scripture does it tell us God is God of Jews only, or of gentiles only? Do you really think that God is checking our ancestors to see what is right for what human? Or that there is separate creations, one God who created the world for Jews and one God who created the world for gentiles?

I would never argue that Jesus, Yeshua, is not the Way, but this title , to the best of my recollection is from His declaration that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Yes it is also written that those in Yeshua were said t be of the way.......but Jesus, Himself, says in His teaching the we are of teh Faith of Abraham.

I find the reference to "orthodox Jews" out of place and time. Until Jesus Christ, the only fiath of the Hebrews was the teaching of Moses, the Prophets and the Writings. There was no such thing as Judaism since Judah, although the last vestige of Israel, was but one of the twele tribes.

You post seems to be doctrines adopted over the years by men, and not much from the Word.

Judaism is but a new-to-theWord denomination, actually an umbrella over such new denominations as Orthodox, Reformed Jews, Chasid or Hasid, and more. There was a synagogue in the Chicago area that called itslef the little church on the lake...........a big switch from the original Israel.

Israel now is the Israel of God, Yahweh, comprised of believe Hebrews and converted Gentiles............one Flock made by the Good Shepherd of the Two flocks.........and so it goes.

I haven't read the entire thread (not sure what all it covers) but I thought I'd pop in and mention something about Matthew 28:1 (and a few other related and/or parallel verses):

Matthew 28:1 (in part), I believe, says, "it being dawn into the first of the weeks [plural]"... where it uses the plural in this and related verses (not all of them do), I believe that speaks of the first of the 7 weeks leading up to Shavuot/Pentecost/Feast of Weeks [counted from "firstfruit"]

I believe Lev23:10-12 shows that "firstfruit" was "on the morrow after the sabbath" and that Jesus fulfilled this in what we are told in 1Cor15:20 "the firstfruit of them that slept" (that is, ON HIS RESURRECTION DAY).

Yes I am aware of the "sabbaths" argument (leading up to His resurrection), but it doesn't seem to hold up when viewing the "seven sabbaths complete" passage further down in Lev23:15-16 ("even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath, from the day...").

^ meant to write, "even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath..." ("from the day" doesn't belong there, but didn't have a chance to edit it to the correct spot and add that portion of the text that went with that [properly]), sorry. :)

To be exact the Feast of First Fruits is when Yahshua presented Himself to the Father, 2 things, one all 4 gospels show He resurrected before the 1st day, thus for Him to resurrect on the 1st day would contradict the Scripture, second on my next post that is not the meaning of the feast:

“on the first day of the week”...“the stone had been removed from the tomb”

Mark 16:1-8, “And when the Sabbath was past, Miryam from Maḡdala, and Miryam the mother of Ya‛aqoḇ, and Shelomah bought spices, to go and anoint Him. And very early on day one of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, “Who shall roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us? And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large. And having entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, wearing a white robe, and they were greatly astonished. And he said to them, “Do not be much astonished. You seek יהושע of Natsareth, who was impaled. He was raised – He is not here! See the place where they laid Him. And go, say to His taught ones, and Kĕpha, that He is going before you into Galil. You shall see Him there as He said to you. And they went out and fled from the tomb, and were trembling and bewildered. And they spoke to no one, for they were afraid."

Second thing, here is the details about the feast of First Fruits:

John 20:17, "יהושע said to her, “Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Strength and your Strength.”

Why is it when Mary/Miryam tries to touch Yahshua He says: “Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father”

John 20:18, "Miryam from Maḡdala came announcing to the disciples that she had seen the Master, and that He had told her this."

Then Miryam leaves Yahshua and goes and tells the disciples what happened, leaving Yahshua alone.

John 20:24-27, "But T’oma (Thomas), called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when יהושע came, so the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Master.” But he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the mark of the nails, and put my finger into the imprint of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I shall by no means believe. And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and T’oma with them. יהושע came, the doors having been shut, and He stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you! Then He said to T’oma, “Bring your finger here, and see My hands. And bring your hand and put it into My side – and do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

Here, eight days later, He tells T’oma to touch Him, but when Miryam tried to touch Him He did not allow her. Why could Miriam not touch Him but Thomas could? What happened between this time period of these 2 incidents?

The reason for this is understood in something called the Fest of Firstfruits. It is one of the Moadim or Feast Days of YHWH. In which the entire woks of Messiah from His Sacrifice and Resurrection to His return as the conquering Lion and Rulership over all is laid out in perfect prophetic shadow pictures, 100% about Messiah and ddirectly from YHWH with no distraction, pagan ritual or falsehood.

1 Corinthians 15:20-23, “But now Messiah has been raised from the dead, and has become the first-fruit of those having fallen asleep. For since death is through a man, resurrection of the dead is also through a Man. For as all die in Aḏam, so also all shall be made alive in Messiah. And each in his own order: Messiah, the first-fruits, then those who are of Messiah at His coming,”

“first-fruits” is word #G536 - ἀπαρχή aparche: the beginning of a sacrifice, i.e. the first fruit, Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine - Transliteration: aparché - Phonetic Spelling: (ap-ar-khay') - Short Definition: the first-fruits, Definition: the first-fruits, the earliest crop of the year, hence also met., for example, of the earliest converts in a district; there is evidence in favor of rendering in some passages merely by: sacrifice, gift.

Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) to offer firstlings or firstfruits, 2) to take away the firstfruits of the productions of the earth which was offered to God. The first portion of the dough, from which sacred loaves were to be prepared. Hence term used of persons consecrated to God for all time, 3) persons superior in excellence to others of the same class

Leviticus 23:10-12, “to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and you shall say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest. And he shall wave the sheaf before יהוה, for your acceptance. On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it. And on that day when you wave the sheaf, you shall prepare a male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as an ascending offering to יהוה.”

“ascending” is word #H5930 - olah: ascent, Original Word: עֹלָה, Part of Speech: Noun Feminine, Transliteration: olah, Phonetic Spelling: (o-law'), Short Definition: ascent

In the Fest of First-Fruits the Priest “On the morrow after the Sabbath the priest waves it

That is why when the women came to the tomb “On the morrow after the Sabbath”;

John 20:1, “And on the first day of the week Miryam from Maḡdala came early to the tomb, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been removed from the tomb.”

Yahshua was already resurrected and did not allow Himself be touched;

John 20:17, “יהושע said to her, “Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My Strength and your Strength.”

He had not yet ascended to YHWH to present Himself as the First-Fruits to YHWH;

Leviticus 23:10-12, “...the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest. And he shall wave the sheaf before יהוה, for your acceptance...a male lamb a year old, a perfect one, as an ascending offering to יהוה.”

Ephesians 4:9-10, “But what does “He went up” mean, except that He also first went down into the lower parts of the earth? He who went down is also the One who went up far above all the heavens, to fulfill.”

the greek word for lord can be translated into Messiah . so, as usual, you and your watchtower influenced translation have it wrong.

when John said " Lords day" , it certainly translates " Messiah's day, day meaning , day.

so, no nothing about that statement implies Sabbath.
Revelation 6:17, “because the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Revelation 4:1-3, “After this I looked and saw a door having been opened in the heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here and I shall show you what has to take place after this. And immediately I came to be in the Spirit and saw a throne set in the heaven, and One sat on the throne. And He who sat there was like a jasper and a ruby stone in appearance. And there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.”

Revelation 1:9-10, “I, Yoḥanan, both your brother and co-sharer in pressure, and in the reign and endurance of יהושע Messiah, came to be on the island that is called Patmos for the Word of יהוה and for the witness of יהושע Messiah. I came to be in the Spirit on the Day of יהוה, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet*.”

Isaiah 13:9-13, “Howl, for the day of יהוה is near! It comes as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore all hands go limp, every man’s heart melts, and they shall be afraid. Pangs and sorrows take hold of them, they are in pain as a woman in labor; they are amazed at one another, their faces aflame! See, the day of יהוה is coming, fierce, with wrath and heat of displeasure, to lay the earth waste, and destroy its sinners from it. For the stars of the heavens and their constellations do not give off their light. The sun shall be dark at its rising, and the moon not send out its light. And I shall punish the world for its evil, and the wrong for their crookedness, and shall put an end to the arrogance of the proud, and lay low the pride of the ruthless. I shall make mortal man scarcer than fine gold, and mankind scarcer than the gold of Ophir. So I shall make the heavens tremble, and the earth shall shake from her place, in the wrath of יהוה of hosts and in the day of the heat of His displeasure.”

Ezekiel 13:1-9, "13:1, "And the word of יהוה came to me, saying,"13:2, "“Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Yisra’yl who prophesy, and say to those who prophesy out of their own heart, ‘Hear the word of יהוה!’ ”"13:3, "Thus said the Master יהוה, “Woe to the foolish prophets, who are following their own spirit, without having had a vision!"13:4, "“O Yisra’yl, your prophets have been like foxes among ruins."13:5, "“You have not gone up into the breaches, nor do you build a wall for the house of Yisra’yl to stand in battle on the day of יהוה., "“Their visions are false and their divinations a lie, saying, ‘Thus declares יהוה,’ when יהוה has not sent them, yet they expected the word to be confirmed!"13:7, "“Have you not seen a false vision, and have you not spoken a divination of lies? You say, ‘יהוה declares,’ when I have not spoken.”"13:8, "Therefore thus said the Master יהוה, “Because you have spoken falsehood and seen lies, therefore see, I am against you,” declares the Master יהוה."13:9, "“My hand shall be against the prophets who see falsehood and who divine lies. They shall not be in the council of My people, nor be written in the record of the house of Yisra’yl, and they shall not enter into the land of Yisra’yl. And you shall know that I am the Master יהוה."

Joel 1:14-20, "1:14, "Set apart a fast. Call an assembly, gather the elders, all the inhabitants of the land, into the House of יהוה your Strength, and cry out to יהוה."1:15, "Alas for the day! For the day of יהוה is near, and it comes as destruction from the Almighty."1:16, "Is not the food cut off before our eyes, joy and gladness from the House of our Mighty One?"1:17, "The seed has rotted under their clods, storehouses are laid waste, granaries are broken down, for the grain has withered."1:18, "How the beasts moan! The herds of cattle are restless, because they have no pasture. The flocks of sheep also perish."1:19, "I cry to You יהוה, for fire has consumed the pastures of the wilderness, and a flame has set on fire all the trees of the field."1:20, "Even the beasts of the field cry out to You, for the water streams are dried up, and fire has consumed the pastures of the wilderness."

Joel 2:1-14, "2:1, "Blow a shophar in Tsiyon, and sound an alarm in My set-apart mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the earth tremble, for the day of יהוה is coming, for it is near:"2:2, "a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains – a people many and strong, the like of whom has never been, nor shall there ever be again after them, to the years of many generations."2:3, "Ahead of them a fire has consumed, and behind them a flame burns.

John 1:41 He first found his own brother Simon and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means Christ)."

While I agree that "eight days later" He told Thomas to touch Him (for Thomas was not present eight days earlier), and I agree with what (and why) you are saying He said what He did to Mary Magdalene, I also see (and believe it is stated for a reason) that He said for them to "handle" Him later that same evening (the Day of His Resurrection, late that evening [even after v.29 "day is far spent"]), Luke 24:33-39, that is, ON firstfruit. [He had already done His "ACTIVE ascension" by that time]
