i misread you, i thought you said Jesus was the only son of the Most High.
yes i believe what the bible says, all things were created through the image like John 1 says, which was always hard for me to understand, even harder with the church doctrines that flip it on its head. after reading what Plato wrote on the subject it makes more sense on how the image works.
Listen carefully jaybird. I quoted John 3:16 which explicitly says, "For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not parish, but have eternal life." So tell me, in what respect is Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of His Father since we are sons of God as well?
And what does this statement of yours mean when you said, "all things were created through the image like John 1 says," And forget Plato, his understanding of John 1:1 is not the same as what the Apostle John is saying and teaching. The "Logos" at John 1:1 is Jesus Christ who was not only with God but is God.
In John 1:1 the "Word/Logos" is not the spoken word of God or the plan or idea of God. The Word is Jesus Christ. I base this on the fact of the other verses following vs1. Vs2, "He or literally "That one" was in the beginning with God." Vs3, "All things came into being by Him." In other words the Word/Logos is a person who is identified as God. Then at vs14 the "Word/Logos" became flesh or a man.
Then the Apostel Paul backs up what John stated at Philippians 2:5-9. Vs5, Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, Vs6, (Now watch this jaybird) "who, although He existed in the form of God, (The word although means--in spite of the fact) that He/Jesus Christ existed as God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, vs7, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant/man, and being made in the likeness of men."
In other words, Jesus Christ was always in the form of God but he emptied Himself or the glory He already had and took another form which was a man. And as a man, Vs8, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." In short, God lowered Himself by becoming a man and died on a cross so we can have eternal life. God Himself paid for our sins so we could have life. That's how much He loves us. Think about that for a second and let that sink in that God Almighty, the maker of the heavens and earth took it upon Himself to redeem us back to Himself. If that does not move you I don't know what does.
IN GOD THE SON,
