The vast majority of people who call themselves Christians believe that Jesus could come any second, any minute, any hour, any day, any week, any month. I disagree and here is why.

YOU are not ready. And when I say YOU I don't mean you as an individual, I mean you as part of the universal church from which emerges the Bride of Christ.

What do we see when we look at the church today?

First we see division. Denominations are in competition with each other based on doctrines. They fail to unite to influence towns and cities and states and countries with the gospel. Denominations and doctrinal disagreements are Satan's greatest tool to keep the church divided.

Next we see sin. Yes, the church is full of the same sins found in the world. No wonder the world mocks the church when it is full of the same sins it judges the world for committing.

Another big problem is that people who think of themselves as saints are living the same way as sinners. It's every man for themself and keeping up with the Jonses. "Christian" life is all about trading up to a newer and better and more expensive home or car or cell phone or LED TV or etc. It certainly isn't about sharing all things and not seeking possessions and the pleasures they bring.

Finally the church is utterly failing to realize its earthly responsibility to show the world what life in and with God is all about. For God so loved the world that He sent his Son, Jesus, to save it. This is the ultimate task of Jesus, i.e. to save this world, and the plan is to do this using the church.

Jesus is not coming back to marry a dirty slut lying in a gutter cowering in fear of persecution and begging to be rescued. He is returning to marry a glorious Bride who is standing tall wearing dazzling robes of righteousness which represent good works. She is an overcomer and a conqueror. She is without spot (sinless) and without wrinkle. This word wrinkle comes from a Greek verb meaning to rescue and with the prefix "a" means not needing to be rescued. Wrinkle is a terrible translation.

I believe it will be several years before Jesus can turn His church around and get it headed in the right direction. This will be the reason for the big worldwide economic collapse that's coming. He has to shake up the world and especially those who claim to follow Him.

Are you saying that 1Th1:10, "and to await His Son from the heavens, whom He raised out from the dead--Jesus, the one delivering [G4506] us from the coming wrath"... is unnecessary, and won't happen, because the related word [G4512, in Eph5:27] means we won't need to be?

[quoting from BibleHub]

4506 rhýomai (from eryō, "draw to oneself") – properly, draw (pull) to oneself; to rescue ("snatch up"); to draw or rescue a person to and for the deliverer.

In Mt 6:13 ("the Lord's Prayer"), 4506 (rhýomai) is used in the closing sentence, "Deliver (4506 /rhýomai) us from evil" – i.e. "Deliver me to Yourself and for Yourself." That is, "Lord deliver me out of my (personal) pains and bring me to You and for You."

[4506 (rhýomai) properly means, "to snatch out for oneself" (H. Cremer, G. Winer).

J. Thayer, "Properly, 4506 (rhýomai) means to draw out . . . to one's self" – i.e. to rescue for oneself (to oneself). 4506 /rhýomai ("rescue") implies removing someone in the midst (presence) of danger or oppression, i.e. delivered "right out of" and to (for) the rescuer.]

[end quoting]

… or does it mean that once He catches up His Bride (i.e. Rapture), she will be perfected (changed and translated)?... and then "the wrath coming" will play out on the earth over the course of some time (i.e. the 7 yrs)

Good sentiments … but Jesus is coming back in power and glory so as to save what's left of the human race from complete
extermination. Without his return nuclear war will have consumed all life.
As to your description of a worldly and sinful religious Christianity that is clearly written of by Paul and Peter in
reference to how people will be in the last days. There are many warnings concerning the un-Godliness of our times.

Jesus is coming back for the overcomer, and for his church - the Spirit-filled Church wherein disciples are saints born new again
through baptism of water and the Spirit. Clearly identified by those who are able to pray in tongues, that is pray in the Holy
Spirit building up their faith and walking in the power of the indwelling Spirit of God.

When the world is on fire let us see how many populist TV prosperity ministries survive.

This *coming* is about the Church. And it is imminent - could happen at any moment. And Christians are exhorted to be ready at all times.

MATTHEW 24
40
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

This is the Second Coming of Christ AFTER He has come for the Church and the Marriage of the Lamb has taken place (Rev 19). It is not so much about saving what's left of the human race as it is about coming to destroy all His enemies and establish His Kingdom on earth. (Rev 20).

It seems logical believing the Word, that although Jesus is returning soon, we must all keep in mind there is a period of at least seven years calculated by many that will be the greatest tribulation ever to hit this age………..it may be close but not here yet.

Now even a thousand years is but a day to our Father so seven yers is a blink of the eye.

So do you think Jesus was sent to save the world or destroy it? If you think He was sent to save it is He able to save it? If He can't save then He is a failure and must destroy it?

John 3 -

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

… and v. 36 - "36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

The universal Church of Jesus Christ is the bride. The bride does not 'emerge' from the universal Church.

Denominations have played a role in protecting the truth as found in the Bible and in insuring against any one false takeover of the Church by those like the pope and the papacy. There is always going to be error and always the need to contend with the error.

Yes, sin is always a problem in the Church. Praise God we have a Saviour in Jesus Christ. The overall visible Church is not in a good way, but much of it isn't Christian. The Gospel is not preached. It is replaced with love your fellow man. A social gospel. Homosexuals are allowed to be a part. Women preachers and pastors are allowed. But the true Church still exists of born-again believers who make up the Body and Bride of Christ.

I disagree that the Church is going to be used to save the world. We bring the Gospel to the world and as a result many are saved. But the Church is not going to save the world.

Your description of the Bride of Christ, as a " dirty slut lying in a gutter cowering in fear of persecution and begging to be rescued" is not something I would want to have said. You are talking about the Bride of Christ. And the Bride is adorned with the Righteousness of Christ. Not your works of righteousness. What you want to label as a 'dirty slut', God calls a 'chaste virgin'. (2 Cor. 11:2). And those who hold to the Rapture are not afraid of persecution and wanting to be rescued. We believe it because the Scripture teaches it. And we therefore look and watch.

The end of the Church age is not going to be one of victory. You see the end in (Rev. 3:14-19). It, the visible church, will be a luke warm church which is rejected by God. Christ is no longer in it. He is on the outside knocking for any to come and follow Him.

I think the reasons you have given point to one of the biggest signs of Christ's return, the falling away.

I agree. Deardean2 should read 2 Timothy 3 and 4, signs of the last days. The church will turn away from sound doctrine.

What you are saying is the opposite of the Bible. The Bible teaches things get WORSE and WORSE before Jesus returns, therefore the fact that the church has divisions and problems is more of a sign of His return, than vice versa!

You can never know if you are in last days or not.

Because the situation changes. 400 AD was a bad situation for a church, medieval era was a bad situation, reformation was better, now we are getting into a bad situation in EU, but its getting better for Asia etc.

The world can last for millions of years or it can end in 100 years. We cannot know.

With transhumanism and technology allowing for genetic manipulation to prevent diseases and stop aging and basically making man an eternal god, I would think we are probably near the end, but God could prolong it as long as he wants.

The universe is so huge and empty and we have not left our own planet yet. I think we are to colonize the universe. If not, the vast majority of creation will be basically lifeless, just rocks, sands and gas.

Is there a real Christianity that doesn't lead to the reality of Christians today? Christians desire to emulate a fierce God who might love us all, but burns against his enemies. Would you expect his follower's to do any less? If you're supposed to be like God then look at what God is really like, and this is why Christians are the way they are today.

Jesus is coming back when He is coming back.. He is not blocked because there are a lot of false Christians around in fake churches.. They will face the wrath of God just like the rest of the people who have rejected the Gospel will...
