If even only 10% of our input is centered around telling people the errors of their ways, in who they are, what they believe, and what they think, I would argue that we could improve our quality of life immediately by at least 10%, if only we'd stop all that nonsense.

There are two kinds of scriptures that ppl tend to read with bold letters. The ones that tell us to discern and judge “righteously", to admonish and correct one another. The second ones we cling to and quote are the passages that tell us not to Judge, to look through lenses of love and mercy. We are told to leave the tares with the wheat but also told to insist that the rebellious partakers leave our fellowship.

When I read the Holy Book, with a spirit of a sound mind, I don't find confusion... I find balance. For example, yes be quiet and mind our own business, but if someone is causing harm to the flock, sorry, but they have to go. Yes, test spirits, look, inspect fruit, even label it, but make sure we spend more time producing our own fruit, lest we become fruitless ourselves. Sure, we shouldn't kill but we should defend and protect to death, if we must.

The bible tells us what to strive for. He also gave us the ability and the holy spirit to rightly divide. On top of all those tools, He gave us natural laws and minds that tell us right from wrong.

Sure discernment is good, but I think it should be directed most towards our own actions, our own accountability. He doesn't tell us to do Justice by making sure others do right. No, He says to do Justice and then He follows that up with love mercy.

I agree, a good debate is good especially for a forum, and any table of discussion. But when our hyper critical mindset finds habitual comfort in our hearts and in our thoughts, it is time for change. The altered state, though, should begin at home. We, ourselves, can only live justly by loving mercy. With that said, if someone comes at my children or someone I love, meek and humble tend to leave the building.

I guess what I'm going on about is balance, but even with that harmonious condition, we risk the stagnation that comes with dwelling in the state of equilibrium. Hmmm, in everything there is a season, a time and a place. So yes, discern and stand in our truth...sure, hold people, individually and collectively, up to His standard, especially when it comes to protecting each other. How can we improve upon what we don’t acknowledge? I get it. Remember, though, in doing so, we ourselves are called to tenderness, peacefulness, kindness, gentleness, humbleness and mercy… those things have to remain in the forefront of our focus or the things that should be mandated most is our hearts. The gate is narrow, we must be set apart in our thinking, but our hearts are called to be soft and open.

May we all seek and find His loving balance…

This lengthy ran’t itself is telling me it is time to shhhhhhh, and find balance in that, lol.

Your title is quoting JFK...…..nice to hear again. Yes we smiled when he would say that, but usually what followed, like your post, was good to hear.

**drop the lawyer's briefcase as if surprised**

in four words: without discernment, don't judge

a God moment

but still, we don't want to be legalistic about it, but given the frequency of BDF forums,
more BDF forums = more bickering
so that kind of justifies a bit of "legalism" in a way,

well sort of

Maybe, but love will drive me to seem brutal to some hearers. Then, not understanding the love, I am called all kinds of things………..some I have never heard until they say it.

God's justice want's to destroy sin
God loves his creation so much, God's love is sustaining

I think that God's love sustain the lost soul's existence in hell
their existence = the existence of sin, and God's justice would destroy sin
the lost soul's do get destroyed in some way, but God's love keep them existing forever

God can't help but love, and hell is one of the biggest vicious cycle we want to avoid.

is my guess true?

God's love is pure and holy. Most folks think the word, holy, is some sanctimonious description of many things, but when understood its meaning
it is quite simple, it means separate or apart, even peculiar.

God created nothing out of hatred...…(now bring in the lawyers.)

Jesus did not come to condemn but to save this world.
When Jesus sent the apostles fishing they brought their catch to him. He was the one to clean and prepare them.

This lengthy ran’t itself is telling me it is time to shhhhhhh, and find balance in that, lol.

In my years of wrestling with this same thought I have found a verse that brings balance and a common denominator which brings me understanding.
All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
That means that every man every women every child that ever lived failed to meet the mark. Save one.
That means that satan has a record of 99.99% success.
That's what we all have in common.

Holding that perspective should hinder your judgement for you were once in the same jail cell.

There are 3 examples that Jesus spoke of and showed. That is purpose, prayer, and weakness.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Learn to walk in weakness, prayer is your power, purpose each day to the Lord.

because God lift his word above him

I believe the standard of good is lifted above him

hear me out on this way,

Euthyphro dilemma

"Is what is morally good commanded by God because it is morally good, or is it morally good because it is commanded by God?

I'd say, it's morally good ...

this will help eliminate a lot of things

the need to reconcile the omnipotence paradox because it has to be bound by ''logic'' and be bound by standards (we don't have to exalt him above transcendent logic, or else, if he is exalted that high, he's allowed to contradict himself, etc.)

it's like asking: can God create a mountain that no possible mustard seed size faith can move?
since God promised that if you have the faith the size of a mustard seed, you can move spiritual mountains.

Even if we are faithless, God is faithful, for he cannot deny himself.

just like that, God's heart is "bound" by this standard of morally good

we have fallen short of this "morally good", and if Jesus didn't die to express his love for us, we'd be doomed by this "ultimate standard of good"

God is good, because just like Psalms 119:11 "I have hid thy word in thine heart, that I might not sin against thee"

the "standard of good" is "written" on God's heart to the point where, God is good because of it

God has the free will to give human beings free will.

whether you agree on this perspective or not is up to you
