The problem of accepting all of the facts that we are saved by grace and not works, and saved people work for the Lord is simply that people confuse the two separate facts.

Through Jesus we are given a blanket forgiveness. If we study the sacrificial system in the OT we get a blow by blow picture of what we are forgiven for, and one is forgiveness of sins that the person is not conscious of having committed. How could we repent of something we don't know about?

The grace God gives is complete. we are made holy through Jesus.

Now, we are a holy person. We are changed. Does a holy person sin? We are also human and since the time sin entered our world we are not capable of being sinless. and yet we are now holy. So we strive towards holiness we received from Christ, we do the best we can to act out the holy person Christ created in us.

I did not know that. Good to know, ty
Do you wonder why our NT scriptures translate pisteuo as " believe , believer , and believing , 248 times , then defined in the Strongs as " pisteuo means NOT just to believe " ?
Do you wonder and more do you know why?

the baby would be dependent on the mother to take care of it. our salvation is a gift from God to all who believe in the Son.

so, our salvation is not dependent on us to maintain it, as you try to make it , but as long as we continue to believe in the name of the Son.

and, of course , a true Christian will manifest the fruits of the Sprit., and do good works.
You are contradicting yourself, you said our salvation Is not dependent on us to maintain It and then you say “as long as we continue to believe.”

All of our Salvation and Sanctification belongs to Him, our "Job" is to really, with all we have, believe
And never forget. His word, his promises, and his work in our lives is what sustains that faith. Faith is not dependent on us, It is in reaction to him.

Do you wonder and more do you know why?

The Greek language has the word " pistis " where we get our English word " Faith " a noun , used 245 times in the NT .

The Greek also has the corresponding verb" pisteuo " used 248 times . But the English language doesn't have a corresponding verb to the word" Faith " like the Greek does .

The Strongs is acknowledging that the words believe , believer , and believing , were used to translate pisteuo . But they are also giving a disclaimer , that those words don't correctly define pisteuo or what the NT writers were communicating .

So this is the reason the scriptures use the words believe , believer , and believing , and then the Strongs tells us , " pisteuo means NOT just to believe. ". The English language doesn't have the correct word to translate pisteuo . The words the English should have had are faithe , faither , and faithing .

Because of the application of how Faith is applied could not be correctly translated into the English language , the true understanding of how to faithe into Christ has been slowly lost to time , like melting snow .

The Vines gives the best definition of what faithing into Christ looks like . It is ," a personal surrender to Him and a life inspired by such surrender . Producing a full acknowledgement of God's revelation of truth ."

It is not a contradiction at all. When we ask for forgiveness of our sins, through grace God wipes our sins out, not because of works we did but because of our faith in Him. Then we are counted as righteous, holy. We act the part of a holy person, except our inheritance of knowing sin gets in the way.
This person has faith in God and His word, if the faith was real then that faith keeps him from sinning purposely. Each time the faith leads him to God's grace he becomes a new person in Christ. For a Christian that is the state of being they are in. Full of faith, striving for sinlessness, forgiven and holy.

The thing about honesty , is when God puts a new opportunity to be honest in front of us , it gets more difficult each time . We choose when we stop being honest with ourselves .

If the person has to continue asking for forgiveness wouldn’t that be considered working to maintain salvation using your own strength.JESUS died for us once and for all.

Now why do you suppose God gave us so many instructions about how to live if all we have to do is be saved once sometime in our life? Is it once saved ignore the Lord from then on, or does God speak to saved people?

So many Insructions?

Are you speaking of the old testament where the law was added because of Adam's transgression.

For the person that has been reborn of Incorruptible seed, their faith saves them,we are GOD's workmanship created In CHRIST unto good works and will seek to purify their minds even as their spirit Is pure.

Not sure, but I believe God's instructions are every word that has proceeded from His Mouth, and ever will for that matter.

What hurts me deeply is that many do not learn the teaching directly from Him in Jesus Christ, no, they would rather listen to each other first with no regard to Christ's actual teaching. God bless all who hear Christ. He begins speaking with "In the beginning."

I am speaking of scripture, and it was hundreds of years after Christ that scripture wasn't what you call old testament.

God gave the ten commandments because they are part of the reality of God. You are adding one result of this as "the" reason. Please open your mind to all God is telling you.

In the commentaries on these commandments we are given more information about the laws God used for us to live by explaining them more fully. Christ and Paul especially did this.

Do you understand what is meant by "reborn of incorruptible seed" "created in Christ"
or "saved".

Jesus paid the price for the world’s sin period.
We are saved by admitting we are sinner and asking Jesus for a new life. That new life is shown by following him in piece love joy and forgiveness of others.

When you say you are speaking of scripture,It’s true that the Old Testament Is GOD breathed and the same for the New Testament but In the Old Testament no one could be perfect, the Bible said to be perfect like your Father In heaven so then what I am saying Is why would GOD tell someone to do something they can’t do,now can you answer that?Answer=the law Is perfect but man Is carnal, sold on sin.The law was ADDED because of Adams transgression but he couldn’t keep GODs perfect standard of righteousness with his own strength.

Only the son of man,SON of GOD,GOD In CHRIST was able to fulfill the law perfectly,ALL the law and the prophets are summed up In one word, love.

God is the I Am, God is eternity, God is the same always. There is no old God and new God with old ways and new ways.

The people who lived the 4,000 years before Christ were saved by blood, the symbolic blood of Christ. Christ was at creation. They did not go by the rules of an old God and a new God at all, God is the same always. They were saved by grace as scripture of the OT told it, and we are saved by grace as the NT tells it.

God speaks more of working in the OT more than in the NT because at the time it was written the Lord gave rituals to help people follow His laws. Often, people thought the rituals were enough, today we are given the HS to help people. Now, many don't know what each ritual led to, or do they study scripture to learn what the HS leads to. But works and grace work the same from Adam and Eve until now.
