Never been to USA, I wish to some day, not sure which States though lol.
I live in the southeast US. I am partial to this area because of the weather, history, friendliness and cost. I am 2 hours from the mountains and 2 hours from the beach. Touristy places like Florida are south of here and Washington DC is north of here. There is so much to see in the US, it all depends upon what you would like to do.

@tourist is from Florida 🙌🏽:)

I like mountains and I like the beach too. Lucky we’re only about 20 mins from either place. I’ll probably have to do some research first if I was to visit but I do know I have some family in San Fran :)

I had an aunt and uncle who did that. It was stomach turning. 😛

The woman calling the man daddy does weird me out, too. Not sure I have generally heard the reverse.
Yeah, the only time that I heard my Mom ever referring to my dad as that was when she said." Just wait til your daddy get's home! ( that was never a good thing! ) lol...

I know, I've instilled this in my daughter. She is now a teenager.. Sorry about what going through... I really don't get the "boys" in your generation. When I was your age, things were definitely different..

I think mid-life crisis is what hits when you look at your life and feel like all those things you were going to do one day, need to be done today or they may never happpen.
I think you hit the nail on the head there. At 40 I didn’t feel like I was in a crisis. I felt extremely motivated. Since my shortcomings didn’t feel sexually oriented, I never felt the need to fortify my ego with women. I did however have an uncomfortable urge to start a business.

Over the past year or so, I’ve found myself to be drawn or attracted to older men, say twice my age (between 40 and 50 year olds).

I’m actually finding that some of them I can actually connect with in terms of conversations and sharing the passion of Jesus Christ. I’m not a person who’s super mature either, but for some reason, these older men are just ones who are cool calm and collective and that I can easily converse with, some of whom have great sense of humour.

I think I’ve shamed myself to even think that, the older you get, the less humorous you become and your serious side comes out as you age, but some of these men have proven me wrong of that indeed.

My only concern is, of course, the age gap and the worry that I might actually fall in love, which scares me (I’m only human!). I’ve kept all these friendships FRIENDZONED because of that very reason and I might add that it’s all been online. Maybe they could be different in real life?

My question is, do or have any of you experienced this before? Whether older or younger (and let’s hope nothing illegal), but what did you do about it or how can you overcome it, if it’s even possible?

Any advice for a sister would help. Thanks.
There has already been so much great advice. To attack this from a biological angle, our body gives us ques at different times in our life. When women are younger, their bodies are releasing hormones for procreation. This instinctively draws them towards alpha male types, for bearing strong healthy children. When those chemicals slow down the response is a desire for companionship. Men are looking to spread their genes and make their “mark” at a younger age, then testosterone naturally dissipates and they become less sexually driven, less combative/argumentative and more relaxed. Since they aren’t trying so hard at getting you pregnant, subconsciously, conversations get more meaningful. At 40 most are financially established, and have the confidence (awarded from decades of mistakes) to take humour risks in conversation. My friend groups are histerical.

Most guys that I know. including myself, spend their money that they earn in their stupid job to support their family. I admire anyone that works hard and tries their best, regardless of what they earn or the type of job they perform. I do stupid stuff at home too outside of work, such as the dishes, taking out the trash, getting the mail, grocery shopping, feeding the cats and changing their liter boxes. It may seem trivial, mundane or even stupid but there are essential tasks one must do to keep the household going.

How did you come across this wisdom? ...I would love to teach it to my daughters. Way to set that bar high!
