Something to consider... All foundations have four corners.

Jesus said..."Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it." Matt 7:21-27

Foundations begin with a corner stone and three corners are added to secure a structure:
"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"Ephesians 2:19-20

Jesus is the corner stone. Where do the other 3 corners factor in? Notice the scripture above says the apostles and prophets show us the foundation. Apostle Peter had the keys to the kingdom and expressed the answer in Acts chapter 2; Repentance, water baptism in Jesus name for the remission of sin, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

The house foundation is built upon the rock which is Jesus and Christians obey the gospel message given by Peter and the foundation becomes complete. Jesus knows us, we know Him, and our walk with Him begins. Jesus told his disciples, before He left, wait here don't go anywhere until you are endued with power.

"...Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
And ye are witnesses of these things.
And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high." Luke 24:46-49

The cornerstone is the stone that the rest of the foundation is squared and aligned to.

How bout the foundation for this three sided building in New York, NY USA?

View attachment 191218
The Flatiron Bldg. was my first thought, then the Jefferson memorial, and of course the varied round buildings from Greek and Roman times....the list goes on, but the idea in the original post is a good, foursquare foundation, and this is what my heart went to.

Oh definitely the work of inspiration consider the teachings in the NT regarding the topic of the foundation which begins in Luke 6 with the scripture "Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:"

I was merely referring unto the quote that all foundation have four corners, the three cornered building was just symbolic of three points referenced in Luke 6:47.
1. Has come to him
2. Hears him sayings;
3. And does what he says;
So if someone has the doctrine of Christ then he wouldn't need to be show what he is like. He is ready always to give an answer to every man that asks the reason for the hope in him since the evidence of faith is the substance of the thing hoped for. He is;
  • "... a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock:" Luke 6:48
But he that doesnt' have the doctrine of Christ is liken unto him written of in Matthew 22:12
  • "... a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; " Luke 6:49
posthuman have posted a brilliant counter example
Yes he did didn't he. And I must say your observation was very absute too, since 0 is not 4.

So speaking of a foundation with any corners , since a corner is a point where two lines meet, would you care to share how you came to Jesus since it the following is written in scripture;
  • "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him:" John 6:44
  • "...no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." John 14:6

It is very easy to find fault in any one other than Jesus Christ, but to look and see Jesus, Yeshua, in others is an ability, the gift of Love. God is love.

Okay help me with this one now, if it is easy to find fault "in anyone" then how hard could it be to find fault in Jesus Christ?
Of course, I am asking this in light of what is written in 2 Cor 13:5 considering that "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." [See: Heb 13:8]

And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Apparently foundations come in triangles too, just like the Holy Trinity.
My comment was regarding the correlation between a standard four corner foundation and the salvation message given by Peter in the Book of Acts.

A sound building is built on a solid foundation so it doesn't collapse during a heavy storm and get swept away.

I agree that a proper foundation is of utmost importance. Otherwise, all the efforts of continued building will eventually collapse.

Is it not better to pay attention to the intent and understanding of the post than to ignore it=
Well the OP is about four corners, and all of God's buildings (material or metaphorical) have four corners.

And the city lieth foursquare*, and the length is as large as the breadth (Rev 21:16)

Strong's Concordance
tetragónos: four-cornered, i.e. square
Transliteration: tetragónos
Definition: four-cornered, square

So a three-cornered-hat or a three-cornered-building is simply an anomaly to be ignored.

goodness...........now I'll be singing "the Church's one Foundation" all evening.......

thanks a bunch!!!

The church's one foundation
Is Jesus Christ her Lord;
She is his new creation
By water and the Word
From heaven he came and sought her
To be his holy bride;
With his own blood he bought her
And for her life he died

Elect from every nation
Yet one o'er all the earth;
Her charter of salvation
One Lord, one faith, one birth;
One holy name she blesses
Partakes one holy food
And to one hope she presses
With every grace endued

Though with a scornful wonder
We see her sore oppressed
By schisms rent asunder
By heresies distressed
Yet saints their watch are keeping;
Their cry goes up, "How long?"
And soon the night of weeping
Shall be the morn of song
