When you go to school you don't gain 4 years of education all at once. It would be madness and confusing. Tge same applies here. There is a Lot to work through and understand so don't expect it all to make sense at once.

GOD will teach you.

Let's discuss CLARITY:

Clarity in this verse means: a person's home is clean, in order, they are doing great on their job, they get along with people which helps gets goals finished, they are on a schedule.

In other words, their life is not a train-wreck, not messed up, the bills are paid on time, there is money in the bank, food in the cupboards/fridge, gas in the car, new tires, everything is awesome!!

So, if your life does not have CLARITY, your life will be full of problems. This is what the verse means.

You're right. And God wants you to have clarity. So all you need to do is focus on Christ and do what He commanded. It is that simple.

Since you are new, start with the Gospel of John and see how the Lord Jesus Christ is presented in that Gospel. Once you have a solid grasp of who He is and what He expects, you can move on to the other books. The next one should be the first epistle of John.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. (John 20:30,31)

Coming to a knowledge of God and heavenly things is not possible as a corrupt human but with the Holy Spirit we can be guided into all truth. Ask and trust in Gods wisdom, as mans wisdom is foolishness.
A simple childlike faith is what you need and the more time in His word the more He can teach you.

You could get understanding all at once if you do some things.

God says He gives understanding to those who get Jesus' teachings and then obeys them.

What are Jesus' teachings?

Jesus starts his earthly ministry by saying to repent of sins.

Don't go crazy and give away your home and preach Jesus in a dangerous place.

Have a sound mind and if it sounds unreasonable then it is and you haven't been given understanding yet.

that is part of the point of the Bible.

it shows us all how bad we are and that we can never do good enough to get to Heaven on our own.

this is to show us our need for a perfect sinless Savior to bridge the gap to the Heavenly Father that we cannot do.

I always strongly advise people who are new to the Bible to start at the Gospels and then read to the end of the Bible and then go back and read the Old Testament..

The simple teachings of the Bible that bring us salvation are easy.. But the greater knowledge of salvation is deep and huge.. If one wants to go deeper one needs to ask God to gift them more understanding..

When it comes to God no one can clearly understand God in full.. But people can understand what God wants them to understand, when they need to understand it..

Yes.. But then that makes one realize Just how loving and forgiving God is.. If you are feeling convicted by the Bible then the Holy Spirit is working on you.. I know this sounds weird but we should feel good about feeling bad about our condition because that shows we are in agreement with God.. That His will is good and our sin is bad..

Never forget that God is forgiving and is forgiving us every day if we continue to trust in what Jesus did to secure us that forgiveness..

Trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not to your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways and he shall direct your path.
Good mourning saint, are you ready for your new life in Christ? The mystery of the gospel , the word of God , all of it is brand new each and every day..
Take what you know and build on it. Put it from your head to your heart. Even the scholars in Jesus day were baffled so your in good company.
A little here a little there is how it all begins. Trust in the Lord as he begins a good work in you for he is faithful to complete it.

It's very good to know the old testament and how It relates to the new testament but the old covenant Is too heavy of a burden for man and JESUS came to earth and died on the cross for us and paid the penalty for sin that we could not pay.

John 3:16
King James Version

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Hi Katherine,
That feeling of "I'm an awful person" is called conviction. God is telling you that you are a sinner; a person who is in rebellion against God. Every single one of us starts there. What we do with it is important though; the best thing to do is to god to God in prayer and admit it, and ask for Him to save you. The gospel ("good news") is that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins. He rose again to life to give you hope. Believe these things, and you move from death to life. That's the short answer.

That awful feeling will diminish as you come to trust in Jesus' sacrifice. The peace of God will fill your mind and heart increasingly over time. While salvation is instant, it takes time for us to adjust to our new life in Christ. Don't give up just because of temporary feelings. :)
