I have to second 2001: A Space Odyssey... I mean there have been plenty of crap movies that I've long since forgotten or don't care to even waste breathe talking about. 2001 stands out though because it's so incredibly overrated that I was about blown away about how bad that movie sucked when I finally saw it.

The move is well made... don't get me wrong. The special effects... many hold up even by today's standards. The space scenes look fantastic for how old it is. That is all the praise I can give it though. As movie, it is just one big ball of suck. It was so fantastically boring and nothing happened. I honestly could not believe they wasted literally 20 minutes showing us a lunar lander landing on the moon. It was so funny cause like... "FINALLY!!! The surface of the moon!!! It's gonna land soon!!" And then it was like... the ground opens up and it keeps on going down, down, down into some space station deal. Ho.. ly.. crap... Not kidding... 20 minutes... time it.... you watch a spaceship land to some ballet music. That was the most memorable part of the movie but there were plenty of other places where you literally sit there for minutes watching nothing happen and listen to music.

I was bored stiff by the end of that movie... I had to attend physical therapy to regain muscle strength and movement. I don't I've ever been so blown away by a movie than I was when that was over... I was like... Seriously?!?? SERIOUSLY?!!?! THAT WAS THE MOVIE?!!!? I mean... it's considered some great classic. And it wasn't like I wasn't expecting it to be anything super. There have been plenty of other old classics I watched knowing they were classic and they just didn't ring my bell. This? This was... just thinking about it I still cannot believe... it's just... yeah. If you need help falling asleep, turn that on, no joke, you'll be out like a light.

Yeah there are movies that are made worse or bad or whatever.... but most of those that are that bad you expect them to be bad when you turn it on. I think 2001 takes the cake for worst "good" movie I've ever seen. Definitely 3 hours I wish I would have spent doing something else (I thought was almost over at 1 hr and a half but no, I still had another 90 agonizing minutes to go).
Hahaha! What a great description.
I completely agree. It was a big let down.

Agreed. The only scene I enjoyed was where Dave was deactivating HAL 9000. :D(y)

I don't normally sit thru an entire movie if it sucks bad. But I did see one wretched movie my son talked me into viewing with him and that was the 1981 film, "Roar" with Melanie Griffin. She was quite young. And the movie was beyond horrendous. The only reason I watched it till the end was my son was making me "roar" with laughter with his hilarious sarcastic comments. It was like our own Mystery Science Theater 3000 (which btw, I liked host Joel Hodgson the best!).:ROFL::ROFL:

I haven't watched MST in a long time. They were fun. A good friend of mine got me into watching them in our college days.

There are definitely some bad movies out there, but I do enjoy some of them. The old "It". So dumb and so long but I find it funny cause it's supposed to be horror but so poorly made. IMO. "We all float down here!" "Beep beep Richie"

Most sequels are a drag. Jaws 2 comes to mind. Also, Matrix Reloaded.

Star Wars part 8
I only enjoyed the first original Star Wars movie. I have never made it thru any of the others.

Star Trek movies on the other hand... :D(y) Except 2009 and beyond, those films are abominably worthless.(n)

Need for Speed (2014)

Unfortunately for Breaking Bad fans, this movie starring Aaron Paul (a.k.a. Jesse Pinkman) totally sucked, and I like car movies.

On the contrary, it might be ok if you're 13 and don't know a thing about cars or driving yet...or what makes a decent movie..
The Shelby Mustang was nice, though.

I think it was called.... "Cloverfield"
I actually liked Cloverfield. But how about the movie "Cloverfield Paradox" available about a year ago on Netflix. I watched that and it felt like my brain was being put through a blender sideways. Horribly made movie with soooo much potential.

This is the dark twin of "Movies you never tire of viewing".

Let's hear some movies you wish you'd never seen at all.
How About Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure? Great for its time period but the acting horrible even though it had Keanu Reeves in it. I saw it in the late 80s I think and for its time I was glad I saw it but now if I was to see it again i'd have to take a hammer along with me and constantly hit my head again and again just the dull the pain of watching the movie.

My brother made me watch Guardians of the Galaxy for Christmas...that was really boring! :p
LOL still true!
I saw a movie called "The New Romantic" on Netflix. I felt like it was the worst movie ever. It was super boring and nothing really happened.

just thought of another one. Caddyshack 2. Could not sympathize with the main character at all. Watching it the first and only time I felt like my brain was rotting out from the inside.

"Field of Dreams" Ugh!! What a stupid movie! :poop:
That was an awesome movie. Plus my three kids still to this day quote so many funny lines from it! :D(y)

"Get Back! Back to the sixties!"

"What are you grinning at, you ghost?"

"I'm pitching to Shoeless Joe Jackson!"

"You're seeing a whole team of psychiatrists, aren't you?"

"AT least I've got muscles."
"At MOST you've got muscles!"

"It's okay, Honey. I was just talking to the cornfield."

"At least he's not a book burner, you Nazi cow!"

(As you can see, my kids have me brainwashed with movie quotes.):ROFL::ROFL:

That's a funny quote!

Seems like something I would say.
