The Notebook- A monument to overuse of romantic tropes with a terrible ending.

Titanic- The film hit an iceberg before the ship left port.

1911- No other movie made ultra-violent history this boring. Not even Jackie Chan could save it.

Charade- Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn fall in love after being violently threatened by a spy with a squirt gun.

Antz- Pixar must have had a wild party during this premier. I'm picturing John Lasseter with a lampshade over his head.

Transcendence. Ick. Great idea, poor execution.
Lucy. Wasn't bad, but it could've been so much more. Again, great idea (if silly) moderately good execution.

MyLighthouse, how was Frozen not child-friendly?

I watched Inglorious Basterds earlier this week and pretty much felt like I had wasted my time. I rarely feel that way about movies too.

Tintin: Transcendence, the video game, is much better. And it's free. Not free-to-play, just plain free. :D

No, it's not a game remake of the movie. It's a 2D space shooter.

Oh yeah. Lucy was crappy. I mean, 100% of the brain means you can control matter and time? Really?

You could watch it if you are a fan of Scarlett Johansson or Morgan Freeman, but nothing more.
Totally agree - I love how movies make Evolution look even more ridiculous.

Hate me for this but Disney's Frozen...

Now for my 2 cents:
Without the music it would not had made it. There was nothing special (with the exception of Hans being a villain) or great about it (with the exception of the music being pretty good). It was nothing like people said, it's disgraceful that they'd even compare it to Lion King and Toy Story, Frozen's storyline had potential that was not used and caused it to run flat on many parts of the movie, not to mention how annoying Olaf was. They should had used a lot more of the original story of the Snow Queen and just made it more child friendly. So on and so on...

ah, frozen - let it go

i think i threw up a bit in my mouth

Transcendence looks almost irredeemably scary to me.

Scary? Well, I suppose Johnny Depp's acting in that movie and lack of chemistry with the woman playing his wife, was pretty darn scary. But the movie itself wasn't the least bit scary (in the traditional sense).

Hahaha, I'm not a huge fan of transhumanism/singularity. Mad scientists like Ray Kurzweil want to make singularity a reality.

That movie made me feel sick. I don't remember much about it, I know it was supposed to be funny but I just remember gruesome scenes and feeling like I wanted to walk out of the theater.

Ugh, totally agree, thought it would be an awesome movie but then when we watched it, totally disappointed. Wasn't terribly bad, could've been a whole lot better.

Tried watching The Lego Movie the other day and I must say, it was the first movie in years we turned off after 10mins, it was so terribly frustrating to watch. Perhaps we really were too old for it hehehe

Oh, no! That makes a little sad. I loved The Lego Movie! It has some much good stuff in it and was incredibly well done (not some cheap marketing strategy). A little for the kids, a lot for the adults who were nostalgic for simpler Lego, I mean times, and enjoy clever social satire. In short, it was brilliant (in my opinion, of course).

I just looked up Transcendence. It's nothing at all like the Transcendenz I was thinking about. THAT movie was a good commentary on the line between reality and fantasy. The 2014 movie seems to have sucked rotten eggs.

Oh, there are far worse movies out there. It's just that it had some much potential and squandered it all. And a movie that manages to make Johnny Depp a crap actor still has to be commended for accomplishing that much. :p
By the way, are you thinking of Existenz (the videogame reality/fantasy movie with the chicken bone gun?) I've never heard of the movie Transcendenz.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. Psalm 101:3

What is terrible is that many Christians will spend 2 hours watching a movie that blasphemes Gods name, and many other filthy sins and think nothing of it. Doesn't God deserve more from us than that? How can a Christian let their light shine, when they are doing and watching the same filth as the lost? Not saying that's what everyone on here is doing, but I'm saying God wants us to stay away from the filth of the world.

For 1911, I don't think there was a single 1911 in the entire movie.

A war movie titled 1911, without any 1911's. It would be like if they gave Russel Crowe a rubber-chicken-with-a-pulley-in-the-middle instead of a Gladius in Gladiator.

Do you have any suggestions for movies we should watch?
