Lord Lord, I received a no from a position I really wanted. My heart is heavy, my mind distraught. Lord I wanted it so much. But then... I am reminded that You told me not to want. I started to spiral, because of disappointment but you reminded me also to rejoice in times of no. Lord, Lord, Your embrace calls me to seek Your face more than anything, to You I go, to You I lean because You hold the ultimate position for me, one with the best benefits package. Please forgive my ache based on Not trusting you are in control and You know what is best, in all ways.

I don't share to get patted on the back, to have anyone dust off the sting of rejection. I don't want that, so PLEASE don't. You see, I am thankful, instead, that He showed up in the midst of this to help my countenance. I share to remind someone out there facing disappointment, big or small, this is just another opportunity towards Him. Yes, because in the face of resistance, His Glory beckons our gaze upon His face more. Let's look forward to the hopes of whatever He has for our tomorrows.

Years ago I was turned down for a position that I really wanted and sought. Perhaps God works in mysterious ways because since I was not offered the position I sought I was available to seek an even better position. The competition was heavy and had to beat out over 25 other candidates but have to believe that God had a part to play in this and orchestrated the whole thing from start to finish.

It bites, sigh, but yes it helps strengthen our trust muscles, for sure. I am sorry you didn't get it but I love that you believe His orchestration, especially in the midst of disappointment.

I do wonder if disappointment is worth it sometimes

Do I decide the worth?

Only God can see the end from the beginning

I think in the midst of the resistance is when we are weakest, but also when His work in us is strengthened. So we look to Him to calm our souls. He is the constant rock of refuge amongst the tides that leave us weary and worn.

He decides our worth and in Him we are priceless.
