Unfortunately here is the new federal law. Legal in all 50 states. (c.o. BBC 6-17-2015)

The US Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex marriage is a legal right across the United States.

It means the 14 states with bans on same-sex marriage will no longer be able to enforce them.

Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote that the plaintiffs asked "for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right."

The ruling brings to an end more than a decade of bitter legal battles.

Same-sex couples in several affected states including Georgia, Michigan, Ohio and Texas rushed to wed on Friday.
However officials in other states, including Mississippi and Louisiana, said marriages had to wait until procedural issues were addressed.

President Barack Obama said the ruling was a "victory for America".

"When all Americans are treated as equal, we are all more free " he said.
However, Christian conservatives condemned the decision.

Former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee called it "an out-of-control act of unconstitutional, judicial tyranny".

And Kellie Fiedorek, a lawyer for an anti-gay marriage advocacy group, said the decision "ignored the voices of thousands of Americans".

Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, a state where marriages licences will now be issued to same-sex couples, said the justices "have imposed on the entire country their personal views on an issue that the Constitution and the Court's previous decisions reserve to the people of the states".
Loud cheers erupted outside the court after the ruling was announced, and there were tears, hugs, and cheers of "USA USA USA!".

A sea of rainbow flags overwhelmed the few anti-gay marriage activists who reacted in disbelief, and the demonstration seemed to turn into a street party.

A tour bus drove past honking as hundreds cheered the decision.

One of the demonstrators, Jordan Monaghan, called his mother from his mobile phone amid the celebrations.

"Hey mom, I'm at the Supreme Court. Your son can have a husband now," Mr Monaghan said.

Minutes after the ruling, couples in one of the states that had a ban, Georgia, lined up in hope of being wed.

In Texas, Yasmin Menchaca and her partner Catherine Andrews told the BBC that they are "trying to round up our parents" in order to get married on Friday.

The two have been together for six years, and had attempted to marry in Washington state - but decided to wait because of the financial burden of flying their parents across the country.

On social media, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton merely tweeted the word "proud" and the White House changed its Twitter avatar into the rainbow colours.

The case considered by the court concerned Jim Obergefell, an Ohio resident who was not recognised as the legal widower of his late husband, John Arthur.

"It's my hope that gay marriage will soon be a thing of the past, and from this day forward it will simply be 'marriage,'"an emotional Mr Obergefell said outside the court. Couples in some parts of Texas were able to get married
States affected:
  • Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, most of Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee and Texas.
The first state to allow same-sex marriage was Massachusetts, which granted the right in 2004.

In recent years, a wave of legal rulings and a dramatic shift in public opinion have expanded gay marriage in the US.

In 2012, the high court struck down a federal anti same-sex marriage law.

Under the first ammendments "freedom of religion," clause Ordained ministers, Priests, Pastors, Rabbis, etc., may decline to perform them however civil officials may not. Those offended by refusal still may file suit and the decision of the court on a case by case basis will be binding. Only 28% of the states oppose this new ruling.

2 Corinthians
6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you,
6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Look up Israel Folau - rugby player suspended and sacked by the NSW Rugby Union and also Rugby Australia.
His $4 million player's contract torn up.
Israel posted this on his own personal Instagram account.
The un-Godly came out of the gutters, the media, the government, the sports clubs, celebrities and every other hater of righteousness all came out to vilify and to condemn Israel for his homophobic post which supposedly was hateful, disgusting and intolerant.

Note that there were eight categories of sinners listed in the post. The other seven count for nought. Mostly because the un-Godly
do not see any on this list as sinners.
But to publicly call out the favourite victims class of oppressed peoples (next to Muslims) was just too much for those who love
Satan above all else. How dare this Christian rugby player post the truth about sinners!!

Australia is a signatory to the UN Declaration of Human Rights and even has a Marxist freeloader pretending to be the Human Rights Commissioner with an office of other politically correct Marxists [can't any of these people get a real job in the real world?].
The laws of the land are meant to be compliant and in accord with this UN Declaration of Human Rights:

ARTICLE 2 -
Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind,
such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth
or other status.
ARTICLE 18 -
Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion; this right includes freedom to change
his religion or belief, and freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private,
to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.

But as we all know human rights are only for the politically correct never meant to be applied to "conservatives" and definitely
not to those oppressive Christians.

The real tragedy is that there are Christians right here on CC who are aiding and abetting them to perdition.
When Christians cannot call out sin and desire to join in with pagan ceremonies and partake of blasphemies then why would
anybody need to repent. Hey I'm OK my Christian relative is here with us and eating our food ... joining in on the purpose of this.

But I [Jesus] have a few things against you: you have some there who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, so that they might eat food sacrificed to idols and practice sexual immorality.
Revelation 2:14
But I [Jesus] have this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess and is teaching and seducing my servants to practice sexual immorality and to eat food sacrificed to idols.
Revelation 2:20
16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
17 For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.
Revelation 3:
Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;
Revelation 18:4

14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.
15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

He could've simply prohibited alcohol consumption period but chose not to do so as a courtesy to those invited who were inclined to imbibe (hopefully moderately).
That's one of the curious parts ... if he didn't want alcohol there at all that's fine, but if your plan is byob, maybe he should have mentioned that at some point?

The real tragedy is that some Christians fails to realize that the sinners will not come to Jesus despite said Christians habit of acting like home based assembly lines of condemnation.

Jesus didn’t do that.

Jesus went out to confront the sinners first hand. He was God reaching out to the people who hadn’t seen the light. He didn’t sit on his lazy (something) spitting out condemnation. He was there. Amongst them.

Jesus would never be condemning people by remote control. He told them face to face, or he was simply a reminder because HE was THERE.

Now, I don’t condone the gay lifestyle, but no one cares about someone pounding out Bible verses to change their ways. You need to be right there with them, serving as a reminder of the gospel.

Jesus was pretty forthright in telling sinners to repent. He did not pussyfoot around.
And I do not spend my time spewing out condemnation to sinners; homosexual or otherwise.
I invite all manner of people to have a personal relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. Like you say I do it face-to-face
and preach how Jesus is the way to life and salvation. I share my testimony and the testimonies of many others to demonstrate
the power and truth of God - that God is alive and desires to heal and to provide many blessings and miracles.

The conversation or chat or blogging that we have on Christian Chat is between Christians and we need to talk to each other
about what does it mean to be a Christian? What is righteousness? How do I interact with people I know and want to share the gospel with them?
Simply preaching the gospel and talking about salvation already begins the process of "condemnation" without one even having to
speak anything about this - the Word of God penetrates the soul and convicts a listener of their sin all by itself.

You consistently avoid dealing with the issue that your lesbian friends nor any other homosexual couples can marry; whether
they do this before God or not.
I have posted my beliefs about the sanctity of marriage.
You talk about being nice to people. Not offending them. But you do nor show any remorse for the idea that you as a Christian would
attend such a profanity as a blasphemous ceremony of a same-sex "wedding."
You do not understand what the spiritual significance of heterosexual marriage is before God.
And for you or anyone else to attend such a blasphemous profanity joins you with the works of Satan.

14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness?
Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?
2Corinthians 6:

No, you’re twisting everything I’m saying to an extent that it is no longer recognizable.

What you’ve been saying to me makes me think you don’t comprehend what Christianity is about. You know how to read Bible verses and you sure know how to be acting in a legalistic manner, but to get the WORD out you sir, have to crawl out from behind the woodwork.

To me you come across as a stationary condemnation mill which lacks any interest in getting the word known if you have to GET OUT of your den and encounter those you cannot understand.

Now, I’m not saying your way is in vain, but that’s what you are telling me my way is. How do you even dare displaying such a Holier-than-thou attitude?

Reading the scriptures and learning of righteousness and how to walk with the Lord is not a holier-than-thou attitude.
It is simply doing what God expects of a servant in his employ.

Do you read the scriptures that I and others have posted? Do you meditate on them? Do you judge yourself against the word of God?
For I truly perceive that your problem is not so much with the opinions expressed by myself and others about the gay wedding topic,
but that the scriptures posted actually challenge you and where your faith and walk are at.

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and
of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

You say you walk with the Lord, maybe you do, maybe you don’t, but the mindset you’ve been displaying so far is a legalistic one.

You’re throwing Bible verses at me to make me fall in line and do things your way, or else I’m working for satan. That’s Christlike? What you’re implying by saying so is that people not buying your legalistic mindset are false teachers. Do you have such authority?

How did you become like this?

What are you afraid of?

I have been to many places where sinners are gathering, I’ve been doing charity work and by that been telling people about Jesus.

I have met people in terrible situations, and what’s comforting then is sharing the word of God.

I have so far not been to a gay wedding, but I would sure go if I was invited. I think it’s more important to show satan that we don’t easily scare, rather than hiding at home, frightened to death by satan.

You don’t save sinners by shunning them, but by showing them.

They seal their fate? Really? How so? My understanding is that there is only ONE unforgivable sin. Jesus said so.
Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Just wanted to say about declining invitations.
You can just say sorry I cant make it. And you dont have to give a reason.

If they do ask, just say you are not able to go. You can say GOd doesnt want you to go and that would be true if you actually asked God about it. You can ask Him! We can talk to him about anything if we are unsure about whether to do this or that. If he wants you to go and preach then go, but if not, then dont go.

Check out 1 Peter 4:1-6

This goes not just for gay weddings but other things people invite you to that you know arent a good idea to hang out in..things like concerts and parties where everyones drinking or doing drugs, or nightclubs or comedy fests that are rude and mocking, or horror movies and things that glorify violence. Or shopping malls where you get barraged with shops trying to sell you stuff you cant afford and dont need.

So what if they think you strange if you dont go to these things. You carry on your walk with God and it doesnt matter what other people think.
