That's frustrating! It's happened to me a few times.
Were you able to fix it? If so... How?!
Use a photo editor so you can size to under one megabyte. There are some free online ones, such as Pixlr (<- that is a clickable link), though unfortunately it does not show the image size, only the dimensions. I sized the first image below at Pixlr just now to 640 pixels wide, and that is often small enough, as long as the file is not extreme in length. Another way would be to upload you image onto an image hosting site such as this one (<- another clickabale link :D), which allows you to automatically resize your file to 640 pixels wide while uploading. Once the file is uploaded, simply copy and paste the direct link and insert it between the image tags (like this: [ img]direct link[ /img] but with no spaces), as I normally do for my images. I prefer that way to putting them on site directly from my computer for a number of reasons, one of which is that the image transfers from post to post if quoted, whereas files from your computer do not.

^ ^ That is the one sized to 640 pixels wide at Pixlr, uploaded directly from my laptop ^ ^

^^ This one is using a url from my image host, sized to just under 1M in my image program :) ^ ^

Show and tell something that gives you joy, the OP says...

It gives me joy when I find a great music group that I've never heard before. :D

Only album this group ever made though. A pity, that. Good christian hip-hop is rare. Christian hip-hop is fairly common, but GOOD christian hip-hop is rare.

No. I didn't try to hard. Technology and I are a lot like oil and water.
Technology is like taxes. It seems you can't do without and I don't like it and it doesn't make sense.

Follow magentas advice.

Try Irfanview. It's a freeware picture editor. It also plays music files. I have no idea why... But yeah, it edits pictures and it does BATCH JOBS! Like if you want to make a small copy of all the pictures in a folder, point it at the folder, tell it what size you want the pictures and where you want the new smaller ones stored and let 'er rip.

This is my long haired Chihuahua, Fifi. She is 13 years old. I've had her since 2006. I was 16 when I got her in March of that year. She was tiny and could fit in my hand. She's still very small. I love her and I've known her half my life pretty much. I am going to be very heart broken when she leaves me.
But I've learned recently that every special friend whether it be human or animal is here for a season. I'm going to continue enjoying this season with my girl. I think she looks like a fox. Sometimes I call her 'Fifi Foxy (and then our last name).' :p

The Grand Canyon is more beautiful than I ever imagined. Pictures don't even do it justice. :) This particular place reminds me of how powerful our God is.
When I was there 17 years ago it was so big it was hard to take in what exactly we were looking at. We ended up watching the IMAX film about it. that helped to see just how Grand it was!
