The bible.......1st Corinthians 13.....Tongues shall cease, Super natural knowledge will vanish away and prophecy shall fail when that which is COMPETE (PERFECT) is come <---Ar the completion of the word
Who has told you the "completion of the Word"? It is the "Completion of Love." Only God's Love is PERFECT.

I Corinthians 13 speaks of God's Love being "perfected" in us and our love for God being "perfected" in us.

1 Corinthians 13 King James Version (KJV)
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Who has told you that tongues have ceased with the completion of the Word of God?

It seems so clear that tongues would INCREASE with the Holy Spirit being given to us because Christ was taken back to Heaven and did not want us to be orphans but, would send the Holy Spirit to us.

Visions, dreams, gifts of the Holy Spirit....all will increase in the Body of Christ especially as His return approaches.

What is the "completion of the Word of God?"
Well, according Jesus words in Matthew, this will increase in deed in the endtime. But the source from this is Satan! Who will do every effort for to bring the believers away from God.
So you are shure which Spirit you follow?

I have a friend that prayed in tongues over me. I couldn't tell what language it was. I know it wasn't spanish or french. She says she doesn't always know what the words are that she is speaking. I still don't know exactly what to think of it.

I agree it seems like a great divide. I've seen my friend grow in her walk with Christ the past few years and she said recently was given this gift of tongues. It was strange and different to experience when she prayed in tongues over me. I don't know what to think about it since i had never experienced that before.

Do you always know what language you are speaking and understand every word being spoken? My friend said she doesn't always know what she is speaking, nor did she know every word that she spoke when praying over me. I asked her why that would be. And she said something like God doesn't necessarily need to reveal to her what specifics about me were being prayed for and that it might even be a distraction to her if she did know. All I know is that she spoke it very fluently and it was a language I am not familiar with at all.

But claiming that this charity/perfect love is not yet, is fatal error:

1 John 4:
7Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. 14And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

False......and going to seed on just love causes you to miss the mark on the complete thought of the chapter ....just like denying the words cease, fail and vaish away....and NOW ABIDES........

We're done......I cannot engage people that deny the factual evidence of the chapter while going to seed on one aspect in the midst of the greater truth revealed!!

As a child, I grew up with my mother at various times (washing dishes, doing laundry) speaking in an unknown language..... I'd ask, "Mom, what are you saying? Who are you talking to?" She'd always answer, "I'm talking to Jesus. It's our own secret language." Well, that provoked me to jealousy and I got to thinking that I wanted my own secret language with Jesus too! lol! :giggle:

I was little, maybe 6 or 7 years old.... I went to church one night and got saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit. I knew I was saved, had soooooooo much love inside of me I thought I was gonna BURST! All I could do was grab my mom's Bible and start writing it word of word beginning in Genesis..... Sounds strange but, my fascination with God's Word was pretty INTENSE!!!

My parents were divorced so, at age 9 I went to live with my dad that did not take me to church. His mother, Grandma Liz took me to a Baptist Church which I LOVED!!! It was FULL of God's Word!! I enjoyed it very much.

Later, at age 25 my friend Laura took me to a charismatic church........well, that's where I got the Holy Spirit with the gift of speaking in tongues. It wasn't actually in the church it was later, when I was home - all alone. I began to pray and press in, seeking God with great desire and suddenly, so powerfully "SOMETHING" took possession of me and I began to speak in tongues......I saw and encountered so many spiritual realms - demons were trembling and running from me like coach roaches when the light is suddenly turned on and I could see them!

The Bible OPENED up - I was amazed at how I could read it and understand almost EVERYTHING I was reading! Absolutely AMAZING!

I'll post on the next post my experience so far with speaking in tongues..... :love:(y)
