In the Word we are forewarned that in the latter days God would pour out a spririt of delusio so that those who loved evil (past tense, have chosen evil) would believe lies. Of course this has occurred since Adam to someextent but today I see this in practice by people in general aaaaall over the world.

Another prophesie deals with the saints under the alter ask ing, pleading with the Father to tell them how long, and they were tld not until the "number" of saved has been attained. This tell sme there is a finite number to be saved and that the number of saints will dwindle in that last moments of what is calledtime while evilones will be on the increase and finally the vast majority. Again, i PERCEIVE THIS TAKING PLCE NOW, EVERYWHERE.

dO YOU PERCEIVE THE ABOVE?

iPOST THIS BECAUSE A DEAR SISGTER REMARKED TO ME HOW DECENCY HAS ALLBUT DISAPPEARED IN MEMBERS OF SOCIETY TODAY. i need not specify in which country this dear sisgter is for this is a general condition today. All LOVE IN jESUS Yeshua, and blessings amen

I agree with you wholeheartedly about the absence of decency in today's society. Things are going to get much worse too until the day that Jesus returns.

Here in the US, it certainly is becoming extinct. Common decency is lacking in every walk of life it seems. And, Tourist is right........it is going to get worse........ Jesus said it would, and He should know.

The gospel of experience no need for faith.. . . look and believe.

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil .Genesis 3:4-5

its not the kind of gods he wanted .he did not want them to experience death but to trust his unseen voice.

At the risk of derailing the Thread, but my Brother will forgive me..........concerning the Scripture quoted saying "ye shall be as gods" isn't it translated (Original Text) as "judges?"

Maybe someone will be able to expand upon that..........but, I've seen this Scripture quoted before, and it usually isn't in keeping with the idea that it is speaking of people being judges rather than gods.......

Is this reference to the Psalm, I believe, that says "ye are gods?" iF SO THE WORD IN hEBREW WAS YOU ARE Elohim. Elohim was used bymanyu nations meaning "mighty ones." Elohim came to be the reference to our Maker and elohim alo became a reference to false gods.

I believe, if this is the reference it is saying to readers it is written you are "mighty ones." Not Elohom in the sense of being gods.

PS...Elohim is plural, while El is singular. When Jesus, Yeshua, was n the cross He spke my God, singular which is El -i, Eli the suffix i makes it first person possessive, my.

Over the past 20 years, church attendance is down; "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" (2 Thessalonians 2:3)

I know that is true in some places. I read that in England Church attendance is way down. Almost critical. And, I suspect that in a lot of Cities, Congregations here in the US, the attendance is down as well. However, in some places, attendance is growing. Two that come to mind are China and Russia. As well, Honduras congregations are also growing according to the Missionary our Church sponsors. The Heart to Honduras Program is still going strong as far as I know.

Maybe the "sum total" world wide is what you are speaking of, but, I have to wonder if those numbers include "all" Chuches/Movements........such as the Catholic Church?

(just wondering)

I don't know about the original text but in the NKJ it says:

Genesis 3:5
For God does know that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

To the best of my limited knowledge all of the major revisions state this or something quite similar. As far as the devil tempting Eve I would surmise that being like a god is preferable to merely being a judge. Either way, it was an outright lie and deception.

i don't think this falling away is necessarily about church attendance -- tho overall it may be reflected in it. i'm thinking about the megachurch phenomenon and the watery complacency of so many people who rarely or never pick up their Bibles, are largely ignorant of what it contains, who are satisfied without any real teaching, who don't pursue knowledge of God or dwell on Him throughout their lives. about how easily misled so many are, because they don't pick up their sword, don't put on their armament, or have no idea how to use it. about how easily the misled and weak give up on their faith - faith which they really knew little about, or which was misplaced out of ignorance and lack of understanding.

i suspect many churches are full of people who have fallen away - and many churches are also emptied by the same process. and that the same is true of many pulpits, both occupied by people without faith and deserted by them, too.

this tells me when the end will come - when the Great Shepherd has gathered the last of His sheep.
this tells me what He is waiting for, and tells me that He knows every last one of them since before the beginning of the world. :)

Church attendance is down because the churches are going to the dogs IMO. Married to the world, scientists, ease and comfort, worldly entertainment, new age garbage. Its a mess.

That will certainly be the end of the Church Age, but there will be a great deal more until "the end of the age" (also stated as "the end of the world").

Some older bible translations such as Tyndale, Geneva, and a couple of earlier translations did use the word "departure" instead of "falling away", the Amplified bible foot notes says "A possible rendering of the Greek apostasia is “departure [of the church].” In my mind I think the departure or rapture of the true church seems to fit in with what Paul was assuring the church in Thessalonians.

Agreed,, they will be given over to delusions so that they will believe the Lie.. Which i believe will be the great end times deception.. That the anti-christ ""that wicked one"" will be God on earth.. I believe many will believe that he is the Messiah..

Another prophesie deals with the saints under the alter ask ing, pleading with the Father to tell them how long, and they were tld not until the "number" of saved has been attained. Well the verse says that God will tell them to wait till the number of Christians that will be killed will be reached.. But yes i agree there is a finite number of Christians who are going to be saved.. If God did not have a number in mind then Jesus could have returned just a day after he assended into heaven.. We have been waiting for these centuries because we have been waiting for the number of saved Saints to be reached.. What ever number that is only God knows..

Revelation 6: KJV
9 "And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: {10} And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? {11} And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled."

2 Thessalonians should be compared with other Scriptures which speak of a Great Apostasy before the revelation of the Antichrist and the Second Coming of Chrit. So apostasia there is correctly translated as a falling away or DEPARTURE FROM THE TRUTH, not the Rapture.

[QUOTE="Nehemiah6, " So apostasia there is correctly translated as a falling away or DEPARTURE FROM THE TRUTH, not the Rapture.[/QUOTE]

Maybe, but reading the context of 2 Thessalonians 2: 1-12. that would mean that the "falling away or departure from the truth" is the reason for the holding back or restraining, “that man of sin,” “the son of perdition.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, but the one who now restrains it will continue until he is taken out of the way.

But when the appointed time came, and the “falling away or departure” manifested, the Church would be taken “out of the midst,” allowing the wicked one finally to be manifested for who he truly was.
