Humbles to silence.

Today, my thoughts have been bouncing, lol. What's new...not that.

Anyway, I started looking in Samuel and how Hannah and David both showed and expressed the need to trust God's sovereignty and will to oppose the proud and exalt the humble…

Later in the day, I was reflecting what a sister, one that I am just getting to know, said. She expressed that the Lord had been nudging her with whispers to be still, to be quiet.

It has me thinking about how He works in our lives. I don't know about you, but every time I need a good lesson, one that requires I get out of my own way, out of my own non stop chatter, He humbles me to silence. Well, not at first, I get louder initially because my response is that of a stubborn child sometimes.

However, eventually the humility takes me to my knees, where I am finally able to surrender and listen.

What a blessing His will is. May we always exalt Him, not man, none including ourselves.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
Galatians 1:10 ESV

yes! God has put it in my heart to warn people of false teaches and prophets. Youtube is full of them. I am always hesitant to type anything as I might offend someone, bad call Gregory! I feel so convicted now thinking like that. They must be told. I also have a problem with obedience. He is testing me on this often.

Well, it seems you have God in mind when you give warning. I do think our focus should always be Him, as much as possible. It is good that you stand in the truth of God. I do not like causing offense either.

The Bible teaches there is a time for all things.

That would mean there must also be a "not time" for all things.


God wants us to be balanced.

I know you will give credit to the Lord, like He deserves, so I feel okay saying I pray the Lord will do what is necessary to be a humble, mature, and loving Christian like you.

Thank you, I chkd them out. I hope you are finding peace amongst the realities of this world that brings you concern. I know not all churches are good, but I am so grateful for mine.

For me, a church, of course, should be bible based, but that is most of them so they say. I guess that I appreciate more time in the word than time giving to an inspirational message. My pastor gives like a bible study sermon. I so enjoy it, very much.

The second quality that I look for in a church is one that helps the community and missions, and is very transparent.

Lastly, I ask myself...not how the church or its members can serve me, but how can I serve them. Do I always actively serve...no. Does just talking about this now, have me thinking I should step it up...yes.

I was checking out the quakers, who sit in silence. It took a while for me to get used to it my first time sitting with a bunch of people for an hour and nobody saying anything was a bit strange. But its kinda nice. Some people close their eyes. Others read. The focus is meant to be on God.

They arent on their knees though, they sit on chairs with cushions.

Strange sort of fellowship, reminds me of my family growing up. The idea of Christian fellowship is to help each other on the right path

Then afterward everyone talks over a cup of tea and a biscuit in the kitchen.

Most church gatherings I stay for fellowship but if nobodys talking to me I just go home. I think some churches can be a bit standoffish and nobody talks with you after the service but you need to make the effort too.

I have been called to stay away from the influence of mankind and particularly organised religion. All my lessons and thinking now comes directly from Jesus himself. No outside influences, "spiritual awareness is not a relationship with Jesus". ( I love it when the Holy Spirit tells me what to type) .To many churched people are at risk of losing salvation
