I do have to say God has done and is doing amazing things while I’m in the middle of this, but man do I feel like an anxious frizz-ball. Panic, sweats, racing heart, just being hot in general as well...sometimes shaky.

They’re trying to wean me off my benzos, which I took for like 5 years, and I’m either having an intense reaction to that or from hormones being out of balance.

They’re prescribing me a low amount birth control to help things even out so hopefully that will do that..

It’s just been so crazy. I keep panicking, with the benzos it was easier to let a thought go...

I like that. It often feels like that. Glad to know God is the light when I feel like I’m on my own.

Oh also good news: I have a doctors appointment in the morning to get my meds sorted out hopefully. Also working on getting a sleep study done so that will also help the sleep part hopefully.

Hi the docs should be doing a heap of bloods to check all is well first, & check all of your hormone levels.
Benzos are highly addictive drugs and can cause severe withdrawals. Keep hanging in there - you will come good eventually!
I don't know how old you are, but could part of it be menopause, or pre-menopause / early menopause? Think you need all your Oestrodial, Progesterone and Testosterone levels done, just to be sure.
Good luck at the docs :)

Did bloodwork for thyroid levels. I’m only 28 so I’m assuming it’s not pre menopause???

Hi Artsie. Docs only usually check your T3 & T4 for thyroid levels. The thyroid gland (in your neck) helps regulate growth & metabolism. The Doc would need to do your oestrogen, progesterone & testosterone levels to check re menopause.
And for those who will be texting me saying 'only men have testosterone!' - not so. I'm an experienced health & Mental Health professional so yes, I do know what I am talking about :)

Felt normal last night! So happy! But I still seem to be very high octane in the morning so I’m still working with doctors. Happy but sweating as if I were panicking? Very odd. Gotta be hormones

I would fight the panic attacks with the Word of God. Whenever you feel one coming on, quote the 'Truth' such as, 'God has not given me this spirit of fear/panic, but He has given me the Spirit of love, PEACE and a sound mind'.

Oh yeah for sure I do. It helps.

I had a scarily vivid imagination of hopping over the rail of a tall place. It terrified me.

But then I remember I used to do that even when I was a younger kid. Imagining if I could survive the fall and just walk away with a busted ankle. It’s only the grace of God that I recalled that because I was beginning to PANIC.

Hey Artsie. Could be a combination of a few things? But withdrawal can cause all kinds of symptoms. Some people might have very bad withdrawals, some seem to cope not too badly. Withdrawal might be causing the vivid dreams as well.
You can go through menopause at any age after you reach menarche (beginning of your periods).
I hope you are getting support for your withdrawals anyway. Let us know how you go :)

I have a check up next week so I’ll see what I can get taken as far as blood and whatnot.

Progress report: been doing well! I have been going to our ladies bible study and been able to get a lot of good support. I think I already said about taking my birth control I’ve been feeling a lot better.

Been trying to keep busy at the house but not too busy. Mom and I are walking every day so that has been awesome.

Awww thank you so much! 😭 Yeah honestly like it’s been a roller coaster but I know that in the long run it’s better. Because if I were ever in a place where I couldn’t get the benzos then I’d be dead by seizures possibly.

Well done Steph. I'm so proud of you buddy!! :)
but if you're still taking benzos ease yourself off of them, or get your doctor's / friends / Mums help. Those things are so bad, & anyone else: don't start taking them for any reason whatsoever, even if your doctor says you should. Ask for an alternative medication, as benzodiazepines are highly addictive & extremely difficult to get off of.
