To love our neighbor as ourselves is such a truth for regulating human society, that by that alone one might determine all the cases in social morality.-John Locke

Governments are established because to live in absolute freedom is guaranteed to be short lived as you must continually protect your freedom from others practicing their own ideals of freedom.

In a society we ban together as we are stronger together. When establishing a society one must be prepared to regulate the human body. By what guide do you use to regulate morality? Secularism? Religion?

Morality only comes from God and to be specific the Christian God. This truth must first begin in the home.

All great change in America begins at the dinner table. – Ronald Reagan

A society needs progressive change but progress in God not self. The training of the next generation on the morals of scripture will create a strong nation rather it be America or any other nation on Earth.

To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society. – Theodore Roosevelt

Knowledge tells us how to build a bomb but morals tells us how to use the bomb.

If morality comes from the God. And if a society was wise it would do all it could to protect the idea called freedom of religion and do nothing to restrict it. A menace to society can be found in all parts of government and individual communities. Fills the prison systems and creates divisions amongst the morally conservative and the secular humanists.

A Government needs to acknowledge the foundation of morals or society will revert back to anarchy.

The standards of social morality are ethics based on the current human prevailing trend and not necessarily based on spiritual morality, the standards of which are based on the established principals of God.

I find myself contemplating this question a lot lately.....how western society has raised the individual to such an exalted position that everyone's individual rights take such a supremacy that the notion of any absolute truth has been completely lost.

In Toronto the public library has allowed a woman to speak about protecting women's rights by denying rights to Trans-Men....guys who identify as female. This has caused an uproar, boycotts and protests....even Toronto's mayor has spoken against allowing this woman to speak in a public venue.

God created us male and female....but in a society that is so hostile to the notion of a creator God, we're now circling the bowl I believe. Women make up about 50% of the population, men who identify as female make up less than 1%. So to accommodate this incredibly small minority 50% of the population is being asked to give up their right to things like gender specific public wash and change rooms.

I would like to be optimistic and hope that society will again start to accept and believe in God's supremacy, but its hard.

I agree; righteous morality (hence "morality") is founded on the nature of God.

It's like the Mosaic Law though; in our own strength, we can't be moral. Only by the Spirit of God can we consistently act in a manner consistent with morality. Without the indwelling Spirit, we will be hypocritical, whether that hypocrisy is revealed in this life or at the Judgement.

Jesus' sermon on the mount showed us that morality goes deeper than mere actions to thoughts and even motivations.

Another thought... the reason why morality cannot be founded on "the best result for the most people" is that we humans simply don't have thorough current knowledge, nor any foreknowledge. Only God has those; therefore, only He can rightly guide us to the correct actions when we are faced with dilemmas and other tough decisions.

last night I read an article about how girls are actually not using the bathroom and or skipping school at times or even not drinking anything during the day so as not to have to need to use the bathroom, therefore not having to deal with the confused boy/girls. some girls reported not feeling safe...I can certainly see that happening

apparently, this can lead to infections and other problems and the psychological effects are also being taken into account

as in sports, with boy/girls starting to come in first, the entire load of ...ahem...really needs to stop

the other day I was in a building that had 2 bathrooms...an older building...obviously at one time one for women and one for men...now, both bathrooms had both sexes signs over them

absurd

the article summed up by stating that a reversal trend is probably in order...according to both doctors and politicians

The bathroom thing....for me its not a big deal if its what I'll call a "single use" bathroom....meaning one person goes in at a time. Whether male or female, the person goes in then locks the door, does what they need to do and then leave....first a guy, then a gal....no biggie, basically what happens at everyone's home.

I do have an issue if its a washroom that allows multiple users in at the same time....then there should be male/female. Maybe we should have a third option that says "For Those Who Are On the Fence".

haha

I think most women prefer a public bathroom dedicated to the sole use of females...I know I do!

multiple users definately not and never too

I can understand that....but it reminds me of a funny story.

Back in the 1970s my family lived in NJ, and my Dad shared tickets to the NY Rangers. My parents went to a game at the old Madison Square Garden, and between periods my Mom went to use the restroom....back then and probably still now, most of the fans at the games were men...probably at a ratio of 8 out of 10. Anyway my Mom got in line to use the Women's restroom and it was 3 or 4 women in length....the line up for the men's washroom stretched around a corner.

While in line my Mom glanced behind her and was surprised to see a man standing there. She politely said something like: "You're in the wrong line, this is the line for the Women's". The guy looked back at the line for the Men's Room and then looked at my Mom and said: "Lady, I don't care". She said he went in, closed the door to the stall....came out, washed his hands and left.

how bout this one:

way back a friend and I were having a nice time together and enjoying a good conversation in a restaurant..we both got up to use the washroom, were not paying attention, went into the men's washroom and stood there looking at what you usually find in a men's washroom, but not a woman's, going 'what are those doing in the women's bathroom?'

then we got clued in and bust out laughing. man coming out of a stall gave us one funny look as we left in a hurry.

Biology doesn't lie. How God created us is undeniably the truth. Anything else is a false reality and should be treated as such. A society shouldn't promote false realities in the name of tolerance.

Same idea goes to crime. We dont tolerate crime in the name of tolerance to the thief or murderer. The society must have boundaries and make those beliefs clear.

Having the media, corrupt medical institutions, the government, the judiciary branch, activist, and academia are promoting such nonsense. All should be in the promotion and search for truth.

They would rather believe a comfortable lie than the indisputable truth.

That was the original intent of the Founding Fathers of America, but today it is heading into anarchy. And the origins of anarchy are Communism (sugar-coated as Socialism, Liberalism, and so-called Progressivism). Unless the Anarchists are put behind bars, they will succeed in destroying America (and consequently the world).

Communism has failed worldwide, and even China practices state-owned capitalism (while suppressing and repressing all the freedoms which go with it as seen in Hong Kong and elsewhere). Yet the universities and colleges of America have been infiltrated with Communists, who have influenced students to such a great degree that huge numbers want to adopt so-called Socialism, and the Democratic Party should now be calling itself the Communist-Anarchist Party of America. Antifa is Anarchist to the core yet they are being allowed their thuggish activities without any serious repercussions.

Without a creator there is no morality. Humanism is the deification of mankind in an attempt to divorce itself from morality. On the surface this seems to be the more agreeable outcome, as "religion" is the cause of all our societal problems. Quite the opposite ensues. Without a creator, there is no meaning to life. If there is no meaning to life, there is no value to life itself. If there is no moral absolute, there are no morals at all and each individual actualises its own endeavours on a subjective interpretation ethical conduct. If there is no life after death, there are no consequences for our actions when we are alive. Take a look at our society, tell me that our atheistic worldview hasn't decimated our society, disfiguring it beyond recognition and almost beyond redemption. Without YHWH's law, which he wrote on our hearts (Hebrews 10:16), so we are without excuse, we will always fall into depravity, violence and be consumed by a nihilistic outlook. What we call "progressive" today has unbroken record of failure spanning thousands of years. What we call "triggering" the Bible defines as being convicted of the truth. There are no excuses.
