I want to honour our feline friends with a thread just for them.
Feel free to post any stories you have of your cat, a friends, whoevers - and the funny, quirky, outrageous stuff that they do.

I miss my cat heaps. She got run over when I was away interstate working. She was like a dog in that she used to follow us over to the local shopping centre, and we'd be shooing her to go back. But it did no good; she'd be sitting outside the shop, patiently waiting for any of us that went over there. Then she'd walk back with us to our house just across the road. Trying to keep her inside was impossible. She'd literally rip the doors, curtains & everything up trying to get out, so you had to let her out. She would literally howl like a scream, if you kept her inside against her will. She was fiercely independent, and defended us to the hilt against anything she perceived as a threat.
She was jet black with bright green eyes, with a perfect white diamond in the centre of her chest. I have no photos of her, cos I always thought there will be time to take some, and I didn't think to take any. How said is that.
I remember my sister texted me and told me my cat was now RIP under the apple tree in Mum's back yard. At first I thought it was a joke - rang my Mum. She said unfortunately no. When I got back home, I realised how empty the house was without her, and I thought about all the funny things she used to do that I took for granted. I walked around every room, still expecting her to jump out at me, but no, she wasn't there anymore.
I've been thinking alot about her lately, and I don't know if it's my imagination, but I feel she is trying to tell me something. Maybe she's trying to tell me she's OK and to let her go - I don't know. All I know is that I miss her, and her kitten that we kept with us, more than ever.
Even her kitten disappeared one day, we think somebody just picked her up & took her, because she was so friendly towards everyone.
My advice to you all: take good care of your pets cos they don't ask for anything from us. They just give us love & affection unconditionally. Oh, and take heaps of photos and vids, cos you never know when something will happen to them.
RIP Tasha. I will always miss you matey xx

Going to see the play CATS in December, my absolute favorite musical stage performance!!

As a trained dancer myself, I love the choreography.

My cat led me to her litter and would not stop meowing until I followed her.

I miss my babies. Gem and Sally were their names. I loved them very much, but sadly I not only had allergies but they started fighting each other really badly. There was fur all over the house, it was scary. So unfortunately we had to separate them and give them to the ASPCA. I hope they had good homes...

I've always loved cats. Unfortunately, I don't have any cats right now though.

But I'm sorry to hear about your cat, OP. Maybe you'll see her in Heaven one day.

You want to know how to wind up my dog? put a cat near him. or even far from him. I'm guessing that cats tease him because they are so agile and don't have to stay in one yard. My dog is not fond of birds either. I think he envies both cats and birds.

I was going to see CATS in Perth, WA years ago with my fiancee's relatives, but I got very sick and couldn't go :(
You're a trained dancer - how fascinating! I started learning dancing when I was younger. What sort of dancing do you do?

well to be honest i don't know about 'don't ask for anything' ...
Mikasa at least 3 times a day makes me follow her down to the bathroom, where she jumps in the tub and meeps until i agree to turn the water on a little, when she purrs and splashes in it for 5 or 10 minutes.
and Ekko sits there constantly poking my leg until i share my pizza with him. he will knock the fork right out of my hand if i don't slice little bits of steak for him, too. & Eren? when he feels the need, he will stand at the door mewing incessantly, louder and louder, until i let him play in the garage.
they definitely ask for things :)

but i know, they love me even when i say no. Mika still purrs if i don't turn on the water, and Ekko's love too, is without dissimulation. however headstrong and independent Eren seems, when he's scared or worried, he jumps in my arms, and doesn't struggle or complain

To be honest I dont think we need encouragement to be nice and loving to our pets. If anything they get spoiled compared to a few decades ago.
We need more encouragement to be patient with each others' mood or behaviour when it becomes erratic.

i don't know anything about them having sin.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
(Genesis 2:7)

the words here translated as '
living soul' is nephesh chayah - literally, "soul" and "living"
exactly the same as here:

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds — livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
(Genesis 1:24)

but here, for reasons i bet you can guess, KJV decided to put living "
creature" instead of soul.

do you see what this means? all the animals are souls. :)

not a sparrow falls that He doesn't know it. who thinks He will forget a single one? i am sure He won't, 100% sure

Respect for animals usually translates to respect for human beings? I think so.

A righteous man regards the life of his animal,
But the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Thank you for asking.:)

I am trained, modern, ballet and jazz, no tap though, although I was never able to get up on point in ballet, perhaps if I had started as little girl I may have been able to, I danced with a small dance troupe back in the day.
Have done some choreography for local performances which has been fun.
I have danced in churches as well, interpretative/liturgical type of stuff, looking back not so sure how I feel about it now.

CATS is having a resurgence maybe it will come back and you get to go this time.:)

They are also making a movie... although the previews look a little freaky... but I would still see it, I love the musical score.
