...Have fun.

Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. (Rom 4:15)

But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. (Rom 7:6)

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (1Co 15:56)

But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. (2Co 3:7-9).

But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: (Rom 3:21-22)

Obedience after salvation is our due, what to obey and how is up to th e student to learn from Jesus. Again, obedience is always our due, never a vehicle for earning what we have alredy received freely, salvation by the Blood of the Paschal Lamb of God, Yeshua.

Why do ALL the scriptures you posted come from the writings of Paul?

2 PETER 3 [15] And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; [16] As also IN ALL HIS EPISTLES, speaking in them of these things; in which are SOME THINGS HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD, which THEY THAT ARE UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE WREST, AS THEY DO ALSO THE OTHER SCRIPTURES, UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION.

The law works wrath for those that are in the flesh which the flesh can never live up to the law perfectly, and if you offend in the least of the law you offend in all for you broke the law, so there is no salvation while in the flesh.

Paul said we are saved by faith, and not by works, because when we first confess Christ we do it while we are in the flesh so the only thing we can do is have faith for we have not received the Spirit yet, and no works of the flesh will save us.

But then Paul speaks according to the Spirit that he could have all faith so that he could remove mountains, but if he did not have charity, love in action, works, then he is nothing.

And if a person preaches that God blesses with money and material things for their wants withdraw yourselves from them having food and clothing be content, for the love of money is the root of all evil for it neglects the poor and needy, and they have erred from the faith.

Which love is the fulfilling of the law.

And charity is greater than faith, and faith works by love.

So no love which has to be done in works for it to be valid then no faith.

Which James said without charity their faith is dead, the same as Paul said without charity they are nothing and have erred from the faith, so Paul and James say the same thing because they are speaking according to the Spirit, and not the flesh when we first confessed Christ for that is all we can do, for when we have the Spirit we have to have works of love for faith to be valid.

Which John said if they do not have charity then the love of God does not dwell in them, so do not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed, works, and truth.

Which Paul said we do not void out the law through faith, but we establish the law, which means we live up to it, and obey it, and fulfill it like the man Christ Jesus which we can do by the Spirit, and love is the fulfilling of the law.

Which Paul said the law is spiritual, holy, just, and good, so it is not physical but spiritual so we obey it, which are the laws of love, moral laws.

The Bible says that a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, so a Spirit led life can abstain from sin and obey the law which Paul said establish the law, and do not void it out through faith, for love is greater than faith, and Paul said love does not think an evil thought, and does not sin.

Which a Spirit led life is not under the law because their sins have been forgiven, and they are not sinning, so the law cannot touch them for prosecution.

If a person sins they are under the law, and only a Spirit led life is not under the law, not someone that sins and says they are not under the law for then they are not led of the Spirit.

Not under the law means if you are led of the Spirit the law cannot touch you for prosecution, not that you do not have to obey it, or it does not apply, but if you sin you are under the law no matter how much you confess Christ until you repent and get rid of it.

The flesh cannot live up to the law, so nobody could be saved while in the flesh, so that is why it works wrath to those in the flesh, but a Spirit led life can live up to the law for the law cannot touch them for prosecution, and Paul said we establish the law, and live up to it, obey it.

For everybody has to obey the law whether in the flesh or in the Spirit, and the Spirit will not twist anybody's arm to obey the law so people have to take responsibility and make the choice to obey the law before the Spirit will lead them to obey the law.

Not the attitude not under the law but holding unto sin and think it does not affect not under the law as some people do.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
1Co 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

1Jn 3:7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
1Jn 3:10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

Also righteousness has to be done in action, works, for it to apply in your life the same as love has to be done in action, works, for it to apply in your life to be able to have faith valid in your life.

Why did you take Peter out of context? Peter's context for that passage above is end times and the Lord's long suffering.

Romans 16:25-26 KJV
[25] Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, [26] But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Plus, Peter didn’t have a full understanding of the revelations that were given to Paul.

Jesus did the work on the cross. All that we have to do is believe, and God knows that sincere heart, and yet we debate time and again as if we have to feel insecure in our Salvation. And need to worry if we're really saved, or have to labor to be approved and hope for the best all our live long life so that come the judgment we hope we were truly in grace.

What saves us from worrying we're not Saved?
Jesus is our rest. Why do we act like we have to labor to be approved?

By putting down the law you are putting down God and all His ways. Without law we would have the same conditions the world was in before the flood. Now there are gangs and you need to be armed to be in some of our downtowns, and many of even our highschools are not safe, and even on a Christian site you read about being without law instead of about how to live as God's child. THIS in the name of the wonderful grace that is from God! Anyone who worships and obeys God is called a "Sabbath Keeper" and looked down on. It is shameful.

I agree that I nor anyone can never be perfect as God is and we are only saved through faith, but through faith I put my entire life including my desire to live righteously, in the Lord's hands and bless His grace.

Where did I put down the law? By quoting Scripture concerning it's impotency in bringing about righteousness?
Of course the law needs to be emphasized to the unbeliever in hopes they will see their sinfulness and cry out for a Savior.

Oh good grief. I am saying that that verse you are quoting from Peter is in the middle of his discussing end times and God's long suffering.
It has nothing to do with Paul's writings on the use of the law.
Here is what I meant about context...

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. (2Pe 3:3-18)

You just practiced about Paul what Peter warned against i.e. wresting Paul's words to their own destruction.

There's already a hefty thread (Not By Works) on this where people are still having fun. Join them.
This has more to do with sanctification than justification. In any case that thread is so long apparently few visit it because I see many starting threads about how condemned they feel not being able to live up to the high standards of the law. Some are ready to throw in the towel regarding the faith and so this topic needs addressing.

Perhaps the title of the thread should then be "Sanctification and Justification: both misunderstood by many" (or something to that effect). Check with the moderators.

At the same time, those who are committed to their false doctrines will continue to persist in their errors (no matter what you post).

Where did Crossnote "put down the Law"? He gave Scripture, and a very brief summary thereof. It seems that you have a chip on your shoulder about the Law. I'd suggest you deal with that.

That may be true, but there are others (as I pointed out) who are truly seeking and are casualties to some of the deadly doctrines circulating. Those are the ones I pray benefit.
