Matt 19:21
Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Yes and where did Jesus go?

The root of the tree defines its fruit. When ones fruit align with scripture the root is sound.

just plucking out random verses, throwing them out there, and building theology around those isolated verses is drivel.

take the Bible as a whole, or leave it.
you do not have any authority to make the Bible say what you want it to.

sin study? have you stared yet? learned anything yet?
1 Corinthians 2
5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This is "the why", it "looks" like a mere "plucking out random verses, and building a theology around them."
This is also "the why", it "looks" like "in the wisdom of men", as "works salvationism."

This is also "the why", as to the "mocking and scoffing", and "name calling", that goes on within any/every thread or topic!

Because, that's what the "Spirit of God" within a "man" DOES!
It "causes PERSECUTION!" WHEREVER, and WHENEVER It's "PUBLISHED!"

These verses are "instructions", to "help" believers go in the direction/s that are "profitable" towards INHERITANCE of the Kingdom of God, and Kingdom of Light, and "pathways" TO "the FOREVER Priesthood!"

Ya see? THIS is the "beauty" of God's sending Jesus Christ! EVEN unto us gentiles!
So, that "in the flesh?" Jesus IS our "High Priest" UNTO our Father in heaven!
"In the Spirit?" Jesus is STILL "our guide" UNTO and INTO "this Holy Priesthood", that Jesus HIMSELF is member of!

Psalm 45
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

(this is just me (Psalms 45), paying homage to God, and "the ONE" He hath "anointed with the oil of gladness.")

you think 1st Enoch should be in the Bible, and gentile Christ followers have to keep the jewish Sabbath.

tells me all I need to know about your silly opinions of Scripture..

AMEN....Water IMMERSION is but an outward sign of an inward ACT by faith.......it is to the N.T. what circumcision was to the Old...Abraham was saved and justified by FAITH long before he got "whacked" which was an outward sign, picture of his INWARD conversion....same rings true with Immersion....it is OUR outward testimony of faith, a picture, a painting of the OLD man dying, being put in the ground with Christ and RESURRECTED a new CREATION in CHRIST JESUS.....it neither saves and or helps salvation...it is but a WORK of righteousness with NO bearing whatsoever at all ON the salvation and justification we ALREADY ETERNALLY possess by FAITH
i also see it like this that circumcision and baptism are similar. one ot one nt. im sure glad im in nt. hahahaha imagine doing circumsize if you convert at like 60? thats gonna hurt for a long time.

come to think of it imagine being one of those first guys who God said it to? you must be like "you want me to do to what????" it must of been some people surprised. do you know why God wanted people to do it to begin with? a tattoo could also be an identification or something less painful/dangerous lolz

i also think the way we do it today medically is more extreme than biblical version because st.paul says let one who is circumcised not try to become uncircumcised that would be impossible today so

Revelation 10
2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,
6 And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:
7 But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
8 And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.
9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
10 And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

I know "in mans wisdom", John was the only one to whom "the little book" was offered!
Know what?
GUESS AGAIN!

If yer too "skeered" to eat the little book?
Jez SAY so, eh?

Or? Continue on THIS way:
Isaiah 28

15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

And "prepare" yourself for THIS:
Isaiah 28
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

We know who we are sharing with. Praise God He keeps His sheep and encourages them.
dcon mentioned about judging and every word testifies so much. Enough said.
At any point in time you see maybe 50 members online, but over 2000 guests who read these threads at the same time. Its not trying to convince those I/we debate with. If that were the case it would be dust the feet and move on to the next town (website :)). No, its about presenting the truth. To those God calls, truly calls, they need to compare and the Holy Spirit will draw out those that are His.

So keep it going!

You mean those of us who know that only Jesus is Holy.... meaning He is the only one wholly consecrated to what is pure.

We manifest His Holiness....we are not self righteous.

Therefore once again you make a false accusation.
Are you walking in darkness? If so, you are not in the light, and Jesus' shed blood is of no effect for you.

Yes and where did Jesus go?
The cross and the resurrection.

Luke 14:27
And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple

John 15:13-14
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.
You are my friends if you do what I command.

Rev 6:9
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.

Matt 10:39
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Narrow gate, narrow path to obtain life.

Luke 13:24
He said to them, "Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

Same thing. Baptised into Christ = circumcised heart.

im sure glad im in nt. hahahaha imagine doing circumsize if you convert at like 60? thats gonna hurt for a long time.
Meh. It was done at 8 days old anyway, before it could cause much pain. If someone waited until 60, I'd be far more worried about disease than a small cut to unnecessary skin.

Well, it's just excess skin that's snipped, right, so not dangerous? And at 8 days old, I hardly think it was painful. Even if one converted later, it's only skin - haven't you ever had a paper cut? As it was Adam who introduced sin into the world and passes on the sinful nature, it seems appropriate that the physical sign of circumcision removed the uncleanness from the male member (symbolic of sinful nature in the heart). (Also, apparently preferred by the fairer sex, so that's always a plus! Didn't Sarah conceive Isaac after Abraham was circumcised?)

i also think the way we do it today medically is more extreme than biblical version because st.paul says let one who is circumcised not try to become uncircumcised that would be impossible today so
Zipporah did it with a rock! I think that's far more extreme that a scalpel and clamp, or surgical scissors!

it depends on the woman i know some who preferr the other way but really i cant believe you just compared a small cut to skin and paper cut to circumcision where many people die from that operation lolz. its actually really really bad to do the older you get and often causes permanent issues in that area. these are the facts

People die from circumcision? How? Are you sure you mean circumcision? I thought it was done for religious reasons, or for medical reasons, like saving lives by preventing AIDS and other diseases.

its actually really really bad to do the older you get and often causes permanent issues in that area. these are the facts
I guess that's why God had His people do it at 8 days old. Also, the blot clotting factor in the blood is apparently at a peak at 8 days old.

The true circumcision is circumcision of the heart, so hard to understand why circumcision of the heart is good, if physical circumcision is harmful.

Walking with Jesus is not the Gospel.

You need to read @mailmandan response very carefully.
This is an interesting response, a summary of what the gospel employs answered with someone pointing to a longer explanation.
If one looks at church statements of faith, you will begin to see this is a journey of knowledge, growth, transformation and fellowship.

Many small books have been produced trying to cover the main aspects, some try a quick presentation.

acts 2:14-39
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: "Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
15 These men are not drunk, as you suppose. It's only nine in the morning!
16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'
22 "Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know.
23 This man was handed over to you by God's set purpose and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.
24 But God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.
25 David said about him: "'I saw the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.
26 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will live in hope,
27 because you will not abandon me to the grave, nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.'
29 "Brothers, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day.
30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.
31 Seeing what was ahead, he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to the grave, nor did his body see decay.
32 God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of the fact.
33 Exalted to the right hand of God, he has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out what you now see and hear.
34 For David did not ascend to heaven, and yet he said, "'The Lord said to my Lord: "Sit at my right hand
35 until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet."'
36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off--for all whom the Lord our God will call."

This is a fuller answer to the question.
Another question would be why ask this of a believer if one is believer unless you think they are not?

Day to day, if you have fellowship with Christ in the Holy Spirit, Amen, God bless you.

to all the guests reading this, please note that the 2 people who shout about holy living and not sinning the most have up to this point have refused to acknowledge or discuss the actual, Biblical definition of he word " sin".

I urge all to please beware of anyone who talks a lot, shouts down judgement from a fake moral high horse, but refuse to talk about certain things pertaining to Scripture.

beware.

You think you can do what Jesus did?
"If anyone would come after Me, he must deny his soul(what he wants, thinks and feels), take up his cross(where his will and God's will cross) and follow Me. For whoever wants to save his life/soul will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me will find it. What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole word, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what he has done."

I die daily. A covenant is in effect only when men are dead.

Believe what you want GENIUS.......my stance is scriptural........And I am following no man...so...like par for the course...a working for salvation loser has nothing to offer but false accusations........

Good luck in the "many group".......see how that works out for you pal!
__________________________

First, I did not say you are following anyone, I asked a question, who are you following?

Secondly, where did I say that one works for salvation? You appear to be like those when they cannot respond accordingly they would immediately attack.

Thirdly, I do not believe in luck and you need not call me pal when it is coming out of you sarcastically.

Your point actually proves mine. Because according to your reasoning these others were never in the faith. Therefore the only ones who could continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, are the born again believers. Therefore CONTINUING is still a requirement.

NOW THERE is what I call a BIG SURPRISE. That is possible evidence of GOOD FRUIT of the SPIRIT. The ONLY REASON we CONTINUE is because WE LOVE HIM, with the LOVE of GOD, that the HOLY SPIRIT Poured into our Heart. If you can get over that hurdle, we are in agreement. SALVATION is not a Reward, CROWNS we can compete for ARE the rewards.

Do you know why I think your Theology, is a Dangerous road to walk on? IT LACKS TRUST IN THE COMPLETED WORK OF JESUS.
