Economically this is a disaster in the making.

Many companies were already over leveraged... this will sink many ships, unemployment etc., ... the only solution will be huge government spending through bailouts and pumping more money into the system .. which could lead to further collapse down the road.
The flu is going to spread no matter what we do. The only way to prevent the spread would be total isolation of all people from other people. Is this really the right thing to do in this situation? I don’t think so, I think the measures they’re taking are going to do far more harm than the flu ever would. But then again, that’s what I think the goal is.

I know your concern is about the virus, the here and now, starvation is far fron your mind etc etc etc..
I feel it should be considered appropriate (perhaps even polite) for a person to limit their own comments to the topics of coronavirus and/or hope, seeing that's what the thread is titled.

Other threads can be started if anyone thinks the topic should be something else, IMO.

You are very keen on accusing. What makes you so sure people aren't concerned about world hunger? The sheer amount of money that goes to charities to help the hungry worldwide would be evidence against your assertion.

Why don't you start a thread on the subject of world hunger?
Surely you didn't expect that to be the central focus of a thread titled "Hope in Coronavirus"?

Agree... for the USA it not going to be good if the projections are valid, yet we still have a responsibility to older people to not be careless...because young people are not the ones dying (unlike the Spanish Flu ) it is the elderly.

As well, we need to slow the progression so that a vaccine can be developed, governments need to mitigate the toll on human life.
There were three waves to the Spanish Flu because they did not know what they were doing.

The health care system has no capacity to deal with millions of sick people.. they need to slow the progression. It is fair to just let elderly people die when measures can be taken like closing schools, big events etc.,

The key factor with this flu which I keep stating over and over, is it not typical in its hibernation period, so while yes it is a flu it has the capacity to do tremendous harm.

We were already in a 1920's economic scenario, the bubble was going to burst regardless... this is just hastening the process.

Will it do the job, as per the one world government plans that remains to be seen, it took time for the Titanic to sink!

Not taking it seriously is not good.
I don't believe it is making light of anything if you QUIT TALKING ABOUT IT. When the media are focused on COVID-19 to the exclusion of everything else, all it does is create panic.

There are all kinds of diseases on this planet, and it would be insane to keep talking about them. Then there is the daily murder of babies through abortion, and the multitude of crimes being committed around the world as we speak. We know this is the reality, but focusing on evil does not help.

How many threads have you seen on world hunger 0%,

People are concern with finding hope in a virus which the title of this thread is ignorant and a poor choice in a title.

the sheer money yea ok, while still 9 million die from hunger is evidence against money going to help, sure they say it’s going to help worldwide hunger yet millions and millions are dying.

If I started a thread about hunger it wouldn’t last long, it would be at the bottom of bible discussion is a heart beat I have no doubt about that, it is what the media pushes that lands within the pages of Christian discussion.

the are many things not only hunger that are serious issues in this broken world, Being concern about a virus is not on my front burner, if I get it so be it I’m not going to horde anything or be concern about it sorry but there are too many other issues that far out weigh this current pandemic as it is called a pandemic. You will not find 40 million prisoners of human trafficking/slavery being called a pandemic

Well I am not panicked but I do think we need to take this seriously, information, understanding and awareness are all crucial.

Not focusing on evil does not help either.

Of coarse you do, because you live in the same bubble as the other posters and likers and winners.
I really do not get the point of all your angst on this thread.... start a thread on world hunger.. if you so desire, you are free to do so.

This isn't just about the USA. There is a whole world out there.
Interestingly enough there is little or no infection with this virus in Africa or India. Nothing or very little in South America either. And COVID-19 is on the decline in China, South Korea, and Japan.

I don’t desire to do so, and I’m free to call out this thread as bogus propaganda of a reason to be closer to God.

The idea of hope in coronavirus is ignorant, you don’t put hope in a virus nor even consider such a wild idea.

Right because it cannot survive in certain temperatures, China took drastic measures..bolting people inside their homes,

Japan the cleanest country on the planet I have ever seen, and South Korea again a well managed infra structure to deal with epidemics.

I didn't say money was helping. I know it isn't for the better part. But people give nonetheless. If it ends up in the hands of militias instead of those it's intended to help that isn't the fault of the people who give it. Why don't you ask Bob Geldof what's been happening?

You haven't done a starvation thread. So go and give it a try then you can come back here and scream about it if it fails.

Don't be absurd.

Our hope is in The Lord through the virus. As it should be in all things.

You appear to be behaving in a deliberately disruptive manner. For what purpose I don't know.
If you think the virus is a hoax that's fine. Many people do. But there is no need to berate people who take it seriously.
You could be wrong.

China was where this virus was first reported....do people have any idea how HUGE China is in terms of people? It is the biggest nation population wise on earth.
Now you imagine trying to govern this country.

In China, if there was something that might cause panic and fear, it would be even worse than if it happened in a smaller country. A lot of things actually go unreported because they dont want to make it worse than it already is.

Tianamen square for example, even today they dont want to talk about it.

Now what we have here is something that will affect everyone. But we also want people to know that the gospel is good news for everyone.

so what we need to do is humble ourselves and pray. Ninevah was given fair warning...and so are we.
