The original Easter occurred on the first day of the Jews' week. (Matt 28:1,
Mark 16:1-2, and John 20:1)

However, the first day of the Jews' week isn't the anchor for Jesus'
resurrection. The real anchor is whatever night of the week that the paschal
lamb is eaten, and the date for that night floats on the civil calendar, i.e. it
isn't fixed like Christmas and birthdays.

The paschal dinner is always eaten at night; viz: after the sun goes down--
all the way down. 2020's night for the dinner will commence at sundown the
afternoon of Wednesday April 08, which means that Jesus would die on the
cross the afternoon of that same day because his death occurred during the
afternoon of the day that the Jews were preparing for their paschal lamb
dinner. (John 18:28, John 19:14)

The three nights that Jesus predicted in Matt 12:40 are counted by
beginning with the night of the paschal dinner. Seeing as that night is
scheduled to begin in 2020 with sundown the afternoon of Wednesday April
08, then Wednesday night is the first night; Thursday night the second
night, and Friday night the third night.

The three days are counted by beginning with the sunrise that wraps
Passover night, which in 2020 is Thursday April 09; so then that day is the
first day, Friday the second day, and Saturday the third day, viz: Jesus'
resurrection, were it to take place in 2020, would commence Saturday
morning April 11.

Yes, since the fist day of Passover falls on the day of the first full moon following the vernal equinox, the actual date varies a bit from year to year, so if that date is used, Easter technically doesn't always fall on a Sunday.

The early church used a formula stating that Easter would be celebrated on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the vernal equinox. With this method, it's always on a Sunday and (usually) always after the first day of Passover. The early church also adopted a fixed date for the vernal equinox of 21. March, regardless of when the actual astronomical event took place (it can vary from 21. March by a few days plus/minus). If the first full moon after then vernal equinox happens to fall on a Sunday, Easter is the following Sunday.

I live in the Portland Oregon USA metro area. The 2020 vernal equinox
occurs at my location on March 19 @ 08:49 PM. Seeing as how that's before
midnight, then in accordance with civil time, our first day of Spring
is March 19.

However, according to Gen 1:4-5, Gen 1:14, Gen 1:16-18, and John 11:9-
10; the hours of Day and Night are distinctly separate. So then, our actual
our first day of Spring won't begin till sunrise on March 20 while our first
night of Spring begins at 08:49 PM March 19.

This issue may seem trivial, but it serves to point out that because of the
differences between civil time and Bible time, it can be very confusing for
some when tracking events in the Bible; for example the three days and
three nights relative to Jesus' burial and resurrection.

Don't forget the Jewish marking of a day is via the lunar cycle; not solar. Today is Thursday, but as soon as the sun sets, it's Friday by their reckoning.

Today is Yom Hamashi…...…..day five. At sunset begins Yom Sheshi...the sith day.

To avoid confusion; I strongly suggest omitting the astronomical stuff from your calculations and just go with whatever calendar dates the Jews select for their Passover season because some years their paschal dinner doesn't coincide perfectly with full moon.

Jesus confirmed that Passover celebrated what He did for us, for as Jesus partook of it He told us "this is my body and my blood". He told us to do this in remembrance of me.

Good heavens to Betsy! At the Passover supper, when Jesus was going to be crucified, that is what I posted about. It is in Luke 22: 7-23. Haven't you read or know about it?

Jesus IS Risen. That makes everyday Easter.

premature-- as of today he would not yet be crucified seeing as how this
year's Passover season doesn't commence till sundown April 08.

According to God's original design: Day on earth is when the sun is up, and
Night on earth is when the sun is down. (Gen 1:4-5, Gen 1:14, and Gen
1:16-18)

In my opinion, Jesus would know better than any of us about the hours of
Day and Night back in 1st century Israel seeing as how he was actually living
there at the time.

If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of
this world.

The light of this world is the sun; viz: relative to Easter in the time of Christ:
Days began with sunrise and Nights began with sundown.

Were we to select any five-year old kid at random and ask them to tell us
the difference between Day and Night; they'd know. It puzzles me why so
many Bible students don't know.
