Eve sinned before the fall.

The Angels have sinned.

Satan sinned.

Why are we making excuses for why we sin?

Is the flesh some monster that we cannot tame?

The flesh can be tamed and must be tamed at all cost!

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry (Colossians 3:5).

Someone said that if he stole something God wouldn't see him as thief! Blasphemy!

In order to steal you must first covet, and scripture here tells us that covetousness is idolatry!

So you can openly commit idolatry and God wouldn't see it? [stunned]

Some seem to think that sin is an entity we cannot control. Now what kind of God would put all the Old Testament Israelites through all those griefs and punishments knowing that they were simply helpless in sinning!?

The tongue is the only member of our body that scripture says we cannot tame which is why the scripture tells us to be swift to hear and slow to speak. (James 1:19; 3:8).

Do the angels and Satan have flesh like us? What caused them to sin? They have no Flesh.

Wouldn't it be also possible for us to sin in heaven as well?

And why does God chose not to "see" our sins, but saw the ANGEL'S (2 Peter 2:4), SATAN'S (John 8:44), the ISRAELITE'S, and EVE'S sins?

And why tell the Jews to "put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil" (Isaiah 1:16) if they were incapable of doing it? Or even when our Lord told two people point blank SIN NO MORE?

Some of you really believe that God cannot see your sins anymore because the blood blindfolds God eyes? And that God labels you as "righteous" even though you are not righteous?

That would fly in the face of this scripture:

Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil (Isaiah 5:20).
Eve sinned before the fall? How so?

The Lord ascended to make the blood atonement on the altar in heaven. That same day, He descended back to earth and showed Himself to the disciples. At that point, they could touch Him.
Where is that in the bible? Jesus ascended, then descended again to speak with his disciples and minister his teachings for forty more days?

I have never read where the bible states that when Jesus first ascended that He came back the same day. I have not read either what Jesus actually did in heaven when He first ascended either. All that I have read is that Jesus ascended to the Father and not that He made a blood atonement on the altar in heaven. I'm not saying this didn't happen only that I have never read scripture that specifically states that the day that Jesus ascended to heaven He made a blood atonement on an altar and later that same day returned to earth. Apparently, I'm not getting the understanding either.
Nor do I.

It is only His righteousness not ours and that is why we are acceptable.

You are confusing the two different things

We have a positional righteous, and positional sanctification.
Our behaviour is not what makes us sinless ... it Christ within that makes us sinless

We are called to conform our lives to what is a reality...... why.......to live the life of liberty, live a profitable life and bear witness to the faith.

It is sin and we still sin and no one will walk perfectly in this temporal life.
It is only His righteousness not ours and that is why we are acceptable.

EleventhHour, you already know that I disagree. :giggle:

I do not think I am confusing being saved IN CHRIST and being sanctified IN CHRIST. I am IN CHRIST whether I am saved or sanctified, I am IN CHRIST. I cannot be IN CHRIST and still a sinner. He sees no sinner - He has given me His Blood and His Righteousness through His Body.... where is the "sinner"..... there is NONE.

The fact is, you do not have sin anymore, you are simply stumbling over your flesh. You can walk perfectly in God's sight in this temporal life, but ONLY filled with the Holy Spirit - (FYI - NEVER are we perfect in man's sight - always something wrong with us. lol! God's sight is different than man's.)

You say we are called to conform our lives to reality.... tell me what God says is reality? Does God call you a sinner AFTER He saves you? Or has theology with all it's terminology told you this?:love:

No, I disagree. We stumble in our flesh if we are NOT filled with the Holy Spirit, but we do not sin because the penalty of sin is Death. We're learning HOW to WALK by the Spirit. We are NOT sinning. We're in Christ.

Wrongfully, many Christians try to obey God with their own strength - they wrestle with their flesh. That is so draining and not necessary.

We need to stir up the Gift of the Holy Spirit that is within us as a true born again believer and by so doing, we will NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.
You ever been to the funeral of a Christian?
I have.

How can you confess and repent if you aren't honest enough to admit your sins?

It's amazing how many different types of sinners there are:
Godless/Godful sinners
Non-sinners/sinners under grace
Forgiven/unforgiven sinners
Saints who sinned a little bit and need forgiveness
Saints who sinned a lot and have backslidden, but they're in Christ so no repentance/confession necessary
Those who believe they are incapable of sinnning
Those living in perpetual sin, but forgiven unless it's a "big" sin.

I would state this is not born out in scripture.

Sin resides in the flesh.
Sin is missing the mark ...we miss the mark everyday... often we do not even know.

Even Paul struggled with sin in the present tense

“For what I am doing, I do not understand”

I believe that you are misinterpreting John 3:9. It is true that those of us that have been born again cannot commit a sin that will keep us out of heaven, but if you think that this verse is telling us that we do not commit sins after we are born again, you are mistaken. When we are born again, and we are walking in the Spirit, we are in good fellowship with God. When we yield ourselves to the temptations of this world and commit a sin, we separate ourselves from our fellowship with God, because God does not fellowship with sin. We do not lose our eternal inheritance, only our fellowship, temporary, until we repent and regain our fellowship with God back. If you examine yourself honestly you should realise that you do sin when, as you state it, you backslide.
That's funny, I'm misinterpreting John 3:9 by simply AGREEING with it.:giggle::love:

1 John 3:8-9 King James Version (KJV)
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

For every true born again believer, God has completely removed our sin with the Blood and Body of Yeshua/Jesus Christ.

We don't sin anymore, we "fall down" "stumble" "get taken in a fault" and why? because, as new born children we are in the process of LEARNING how to walk in by the Spirit so we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

Never again will I call myself a "sinner" or call any of my brothers and sisters in Christ a "sinner" nor agree with them if they call themselves a "sinner."

Why? because God doesn't call His true born again believer children "sinners." He calls us "beloved" "brethern" "friends" "sons" "daughters"......(y)

When we have been born again, of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and we sin, we separate ourselves from our fellowship with God, because God does not fellowship with sin. Death, according to Greek, is a separation, so we experience a death.
What is the second Death? It's more than "separation" - it's receiving "The Wrath of God."

Sinners are under this penalty of Death, if they do not repent, confess THEIR SINS and receive by faith the Blood and Body of Yeshua/Jesus Christ - the ONE and ONLY SAVIOR at which time they are sealed with the Holy Spirit.

True born again believers are to also receive by faith the baptism with the Holy Spirit and be filled with the Holy Spirit. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit we can walk by the Spirit and NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.

However, the baptism of the Holy Spirit is just the FIRST TIME we are filled with the Holy Spirit. We need to be CONTINUALLY FILLED with the Holy Spirit so we can walk by the Spirit. If we don't, we stumble over our flesh and fall down, we hate falling down - it hurts God, others and ourselves. We have to go apology, say we're sorry and forgive each other, then we're up again trying to walk.

We're really short changing ourselves when we keep trying to live this new life God as given us by trying to do it without the Holy Spirit and calling ourselves "sinners."

Which covers our SIN NATURE. God sees the blood, not the sin. It doesn't;t mean we shed sin nature, it means that nature was covered by the blood. Anything outside the perfect will of God is SIN, are you PERFECT SISTER? Of course not. There are times when we do not heed the Holy Spirits voice, there are times when we get angry. Have you not told a lie at all since you have been born again ? So,e people tell white lies to not hurt peoples feeling like, Howd yall like my taters Billy Bob? Oh, they were wonderful Aunt Martha !! Cough, arrrghh Chocking on those rotten taters. If we fail to tell sinners they are IN SIN you do know that is a sin right ?

Ezekiel 3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Nope, I do not agree with you. As true born again believers we are a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST JESUS.

My eyes are finally opening and I am seeing myself THE WAY GOD SEES ME, as His Child - PERFECT IN CHRIST JESUS, He doesn't see my falling down as sin, He sees me loving Him and wanting to walk by the Spirit.

But, I as a child, I MUST learn how to walk. Yeshua/Jesus walked by the Spirit and did NOT fulfill the lusts of His flesh in His Human Body. - In all ways He was tempeted just as us, but He did not sin. He wrestled with His flesh in the Garden, but He ended up saying, "Nevertheless, not my will buy Yours (Father) be done.

We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit by stirring up the gift of the Holy Spirit within us by singing songs in our hearts to God, reading, studying, and meditating on God's Word the Bible, fellowshiping with other believers, praying for one another.....

1Jn 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1Jn 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
This is the truth. John was clear that we are all need to remain in repentance. That though we do sin we are not with out hope, that in confession Christ forgives. Because even in doing good our good deeds are stained with pride and self-righteous. That our envies, lusts, pride, selfishness, are always there to stumble us.
Oh goodness, Loco......:giggle::love:

Be free, know that you are forgiven - Yeshua/Jesus took ALL your sin away COMPLETELY. You have NO SIN anymore - thanks be to God!!! You're not a sinner, you're a child of God. Hallelujah!!

John was speaking about getting saved. Look at what else John said.....

What's intriguing to me is that God took away our sin, gave us His Righteousness in Christ Jesus, sealed, baptized and filled us with His Holy Spirit and left us in these earthen vessels... and tells us to walk by the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh......

What do you suppose He wants us to learn to do? Love Him, know Him, learn His ways, walk in His ways.....

Seems we STILL have choices to make.... the Spirit or the flesh..... We cannot love God unless we have a choice - love without a choice is robotics, manipulation.

Seems God made sure we would STILL have a CHOICE.....interesting......

And He wants us to be honest. I know I'm gonna be angry when I got a traffick jam, and that even if I avert my eyes from that gal out there flaggin and waggin the image is still in my head and that lust full thought came up. I also know that I'm gonna feel holier than my brother in trouble, and my pride is gonna raise up when I do a good thing. Even if I give generously my greed is right there getting puffed up. So I'm honest with myself that sin is right there even in my doing well doing.

Good grief, you now have to pick words to "soft-soap" the word "SIN?" Stumble, slipped, made a mistake, backslid a little bit, didn't mean to do it, it's not as bad as all that, afterall it's just a little sin, I mean I didn't murder anybody.

I suggest you read Romans 7:25 and please explain what the Apostle Pauo's point is? Also for context read the verses before and after vs25.

IN GOD THE SON,
bluto
Okay, let's take a look :geek::love:

Romans 7:24-8:2 King James Version (KJV)
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Paul is explaining the struggle we cannot win with only our mind against our flesh. Even if we decide to choose God's Will, we can't do it without the power of the Holy Spirit. True born again believers have been sealed, baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit, but we need to learn to be continually filled with the Holy Spirit so we can walk after the Spirit.

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me
free from the law of sin and death.

We're not "sinners" anymore. We're children learning how to walk.

Take a look at this:

Romans 6:17-19 King James Version (KJV)
17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

However, it appears we STILL have a choice......... We got to learn how to make right choices - how to choose the Father's Will, how to walk by the Spirit.

19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

God bless you, bluto! Thanks for sharing scripture with me.(y)

What happens to sin that is not confessed? Is it not forgiven?
