Have you ever wished you had a friend that you could talk to, I mean, REALLY talk to? Someone who would not only listen, but also wouldn't judge and wouldn't make you feel like a failure, no matter what you told them?

Allow me to put the spotlight on two special people like that here on CC (I know there are many others -- but these are just two ladies I thought of because I've had personal experience with this in the past few months.)

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present to you, Miss @Pipp and Miss @TamLynn.

If I messaged either of these ladies out of the blue and said, "Hey, I've just started a new job where I'm dancing around poles while chain-smoking at the same time and taking swigs of whiskey in between rounds." (I have absolutely no desire to do any of these things, but just saying... No matter what I could do, or contemplate doing, I could talk to Pipp and Tam about it.)

I already know what they would say.

@Pipp would say (to me and to anyone else,) "Oh, I still love you and I'll be here for you. You can talk to me about it all and I promise I won't judge. But I know it's also not a healthy decision for your life so I'll be praying for you, because I want you to be safe. We're sinners and we all fall, but God helps us get back where we're supposed to be." She would probably also sit you down to a homemade, Southern feast, complete with a homemade cake that's personalized just for you (shoot, if this is what I'd be greeted with, I'm kind of thinking about going and getting into some trouble.... Just kidding. Sort of.)

@TamLynn would reassure you that whatever you are going through, Jesus can relate, and He loves you and wants to lead you into a better way of living by following Him. TamLynn also has enough grace, wit, and snap to be able to stand up to any flimsy excuses the flesh might make. And the fact that she is still standing there, loving and encouraging you, will make you want to hang your head and change whatever bad choices you might be making, because the thought of disappointing this woman, who is showing you so much compassion and understanding, will truly break your heart.

Ladies (and all others here who are like this as well,) I sincerely salute you.

And am ever-thankful that we met.

(Ladies, if you ever need someone to talk to, these are two of the many wonderful women we have here that you can trust.)

Thank you SS!! 🤗

Whew! if you did take up that kind of job, you would need a strong stomach. That much whiskey is rough on the digestive system. Rough on everything else too, but... there's a reason why drunks get ulcers.

Yeah, I know you were just using that to illustrate a point. My stomach did a flip anyway when I read the part about taking swigs of whiskey between rounds.

Maybe that's just me though. The smell of hand sanitizer makes me want to gag because it smells so much like cheap vodka.

One other thing I should mention about me - my family on my father's side is real tight. If you marry into this family, or if you're a good friend of this family, or if you're a guest who is staying overnight at this house, your problems are our problems. If you're upset at somebody we're upset at them too. If you get excited about something we're excited about it too... even if we don't totally understand it, we're excited about it because you're excited, because you're family.

One thing you gotta learn when you are in our group, your money is not worth anything here. Uncle Fred will fix Grandma's sink, or Aunt Diane will make a batch of deviled eggs Uncle Fred loves, or I'll give Aunt Diane a bag of dark chocolate truffles I found at a good deal, and nobody ever mentions "How much do I owe you?" You just don't ask that. You're family.

Yes, sometimes u wish others would feel comfortable enough to post, to share in a thread like this, but sadly many still wont, I think.

When we were being encouraged to read, I thot it was a great hobby.. but thru the yrs, my hubby esp discouraged from reading much fiction, wc I see my older sister spending much time on (and thankfully, I can give more time to the Word now instead of other). Unless ur really down to earth, very sensible and responsible, fiction may have a way of distracting from seeing other people's needs and eating up time. That's just me, ok... so I decided to spend free time on playing instruments and be an encouragement in that area, hopefully. Altho once, we were going out, and knowing I had minutes while the guys got ready, I pulled out my violin and someone was annoyed I had to instead of checking if I was missing to do something else:unsure:
What kind of instruments do you play, Mar? How nice it must be to play the violin. Not sure why it annoyed somebody.

Thank you so much for the kind words ♡♡♡♡
The truth of the matter is..me being judgemental doesnt help anyone. Sometimes people just needs to talk out their situation in order to see for themselves its a bad idea. I just lovem and try to point them to Jesus.

Aww, thanks CharliRenee❤️.

You know my tongue runs on A1 jet fuel😁. That’s what some very annoyed person told me once😂. If you think I’m bad here, well, IRL I’m REALLY a chatterbox😊😂.

So who am I? First of all I’m a mother, grandmother and a widow. Then I’m a Texan (born in New Orléans, but hush...), I’m in law enforcement, I’ve been a sailor, I’m almost 44 years old, I’m fluent in four languages, French is my native tongue, I live alone in a mansion I inherited from my dad, I like rock music, and etc lol.
You really do suit the person I matched you with 😁

Sorry I got lost and not enough time.. thought this thread was at the Misc. forum and not found it sooner=).

When I was younger I could play some guitar, often using a few chords, wc I still miss haha. But theres only a child's uke at home now, and I haven't figured out how to use it! Piano often at my mom's, a wind instrument, recorder, wc I think is noisy when every neighbor is around at this lockdown, so I choose not to use it=), and the electric violin given last year. Thankfully, one can practice w/ the instrument unplugged, so it barely disrupts others w/ the sound, those who cannot or will not appreciate it=). Now I think it would be annoying when we're leaving in 10 mins., and I have to pull out the instrument instead of seeing if we might have forgotten something needed for the trip?

I am fascinated by arts but I am also into science. Is that possible?
Hi bell,
Most of the family are into sciences, and many thought that was what I was going to pursue also, but I got vey tired=) and wanted something different. I did not even finish my first course, but ppl at home often joke abt mommy being a doctor when my only reference is "When There Is No Doctor" jk!-- and consultations wc I may or may not always follow depending on doctors' recommendations. Ah, but I know I was quite good taking care of them when small, coz a son had one hospitalization bef. going to high school, and no more. Its not bec I was a good cook, but I managed to sneak in some grated veggies into cookies, or soups maybe, so now they can eat a lot of those veggies, no problem, but we grew up w/ microbes being very real co-inhabitants of the planet, so maybe also the kids had their share of frequent hand washing long before covid was here!

So what arts do you like to do? I liked to sing a lot w/ the kids when small, so maybe they had a little too much of that tho, and now no one likes to sing hehe.

Hi mar, you seem like a really good mother. There is art in everything they say, even in motherhood. I liked art but I was not able to pursue it so I am not really an artist. I eventually chose the science path for my career because I had no choice. I enjoy photography. My highschool teacher also said I have a talent in writing. I also like any forms of art like music, paintings, drawings, dance, etc but I am not talented in them so I just appreciate them. I like listening to acoustic guitar, piano, violin and others. I tried to learn guitar but I just had no time, talent and patience. It was just accumulating dust so I sold it. Good thing you know how to play guitar. It must be really an enjoyable thing to do.

Ok now I’ll try to explain myself more I guess.

I’m a 29 year old lady of Hispanic descent, an 8th generation native born (though not Native American) Arizonan which is pretty cool. I live with my mom currently, and I have a sister who is married an in LA.

I’m a big ol geek who likes videogames, history, anime, animation, and period romances - but not romance novels as people think them now. Most of my reading comes in the form of manga and comics, especially like Sunday morning funny comics.

I don’t drink, smoke, saving myself for marriage.... uhhhhh.... oh and like I said I like Disneyland.

Honest and open communication is important for all time, it will happen on the new earth. God communicates himself in an open way, and if you dont believe that then check your bible.
