This early morning, sweet thoughts filled my mind. I am inspired by how often the good book speaks on gentleness, on giving, on kindness, on tenderness, on mercy, on acceptance, on peace, on humility, on compassion, on patience, on love. These are the tools needed to not only derive an abundance of joy but also the driving force for all that is good.
Over and over, we are taught to be courteous and kind; receiving a loving and embracing warmth is what most prefer. Still, reality can tarnish if not zap completely any and all desire to bring soothing comfort to others. I am so guilty of this. I just don't have the energy to care sometimes. Nothing breeds selfishness like fatigue. I mean, honestly, it is how I feel sometimes. I think that's why God encourages us with His word to fight the fight and why He tells us to encourage each other. He has always been fully aware of our tendencies. I just love and appreciate that about Him.
Oh my loves, my beautiful, hard working, precious ones, please take measures to take care of you. The world needs your strength and people need the best you have to give. The stakes are too high, we can not risk depletion, we can not risk indifference. People out there are struggling and suffering and long for tender loving care, a refuge of comfort. I speak to you but know, I am reminding myself most of all.
We are here for just a little while, but sometimes, when we are running on empty, it feels like forever. We must feed our souls with Christ, and find comfort and rest. Get a good massage, go for a walk, get out in nature, eat some good healthy food, spend sometime laughing with a friend, drink extra water, do whatever it takes but find the balance and the gumption to care deeply for those in our world. They matter and deserve the best we have to offer. They need our smiles, they need our zest for them.
So thank You Lord for teaching us how important it is to love one another well. I so need You to do and be better.
