I enjoy Rockland as a "tourist". It's a very pretty area. I always go there during peak season. It's so pretty. I like the Breakwater Lighthouse and Summer Solstice event. I hope that your time in Maine and that season of your life was a blessing. I'm sorry for the passing of your family, but glad you're able to be back in Florida.
I remember walking on the breakwater. Having lived in Orlando for over 20 years and been to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios too many times to remember I never felt the urge to go to the Annual Lobster Festival. Guess Disney spoiled me as far as attractions are concerned. Maine is a very scenic state but predominately cold and always very windy, at least Rockland was always windy. Not a whole lot or eating establishments in Rockland but I did enjoy dining in the Off-Shore restuarant.

sorry its just every single thread you keep going on and on about how you are single

like Im single Im single Im single look at me wow I am so single...

is there nothing else to talk about lol

this is the singles forum so...its a given that you might be single.
You are SO off-base. Do you even read the posts, or do you just scan thread titles?

Why do you keep posting in seoul's threads and ridiculing her thoughts? If you're that bored, I can suggest a few fun things to do. Shoot, I can suggest loads of things to do.

Seriously - what you said does not apply to what seoulsearch has posted. If you had not used a name I would not even be able to guess you were talking to seoul.

Never thought I would do it but... I have reported this to a moderator. Seriously Lanolin (if I'm not back on your ignore list yet) you have become borderline bullying here.

Speaking of ignore... you ignore anybody who disagrees with you. You even bragged about how long your ignore list is. Why have you not put seoulsearch on your ignore list yet? Could you try it now? Please? Just put her on ignore and be happy.

Or would that be TOO easy? Maybe you like having something to complain about?

I sing all the time! Pray for my husband. He has to hear my silly songs. I always ask him if he likes the song, and he always says yes. So he’s encouraging it. Lololol
My wife sings for me too, usually songs she just made up. I always say I like her songs too just like your hubby.

Seoulsearch, I love your threads. Know this: to many of us here, your threads make a difference❤️.
I love her threads too. They're always awesome. Her insight and how she articulates is fascinating. Her writing is superb. The consideration that she shows the members, even those that may not agree with her is outstanding. Spiritual actually.

Oh wow it's finally here yay :D
So in the polls I honestly had a hard time choosing I mean anime comics video games music movies theatre those were obvious for me but there are others I was uncertain to choose. I do like to draw but mainly pokemon or anime and it isn't that often anymore I would absolutely love to be able to play sports like you have no idea but at my age and with my unique little kid looking body it is not something I am able to do.

Honestly I am game for anything I love trying new things and I would love to learn to cook and other stuff but man playing sports... it hurts lol

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wrote for the kind words and support. Like anyone else, I get hurt by some of the things people say but I also fully recognize that this is a democracy, and people certainly have a right to vote me off the island! :D

But that doesn't always mean I'll just give up and leave quietly. As I get older, God seems to connect me with young people who often have their ideas criticized and disregarded, so I think it's important to set an example that even negative feedback can be used to help revise or improve one's work instead of crumbling.

One of the great things about having a forum of this magnitude is that if someone doesn't like what's being built on one island, they can always go off and create their own. :)

And I would encourage anyone who doesn't like these threads to please just skip over them. I'm certainly not expecting people to read them but am grateful to those who take the time to do so and even participate.

@Susanna -- I wanted to thank you specifically for this post because it means a lot to me that these threads might help people -- that's my entire purpose of writing them. In truth, I feel a little envious of the people in this thread because they are SO multi-talented!! As for me, lol... this is it -- you caught me red-handed. :) The past few years I've put almost all of my energy into writing things like these threads and personal letters. :)

One of the things I've been concerned about during this pandemic is how other singles are coping through it (NOT that I'm not concerned for others as well, but singles seem to be what God has put on my heart.) As if some singles weren't lonely enough, I know the social isolation and entrapment has to be paralyzing, so if these threads can ease people's minds just for a minute and give them something fun and interesting that they feel connected to, then it's more than worth the effort. :)

You are definitely right about the cold and wind (especially on the coast), but I love that. I actual don't eat seafood, but find the gatherings to be fun and quaint. The big parks are super overwhelming for me.

Hi Christian,
Thank you for doing one of the most important jobs in the world and being a good dad. I am pretty sure your daughter would say you are a great dad. It makes all the difference in the world for that young lady. I know that this society can be dismissive of the role of fathers but it is so wrong. As a mom I can give everything I have in raising my child but I can never replace what a father is uniquely gifted to speak into their child's life. I just wanted to say thanks for the effort that you and the dads on here make in their children's lives.

I can't sleep and this is as good a time killer as anything.

*Lynx settles down with a bag of salsa verde corn chips and starts filling out the "getting to know you" form.

1. Name/What You Want to Be Called:
Normally "Lynx" or "Isaac" but if dinner is ready or there is a cheesecake waiting to be eaten "Hey you!" will be acceptable.

2. Location (you don't have to be specific; remember, anyone can see this), and Would You Be Willing to Relocate?
Southwest Tennessee, and it would take a VERY good reason for me to move away from here. Good climate, not too hot in summer, not too cold in winter, my (very close-knit) family is here and my (pretty cool) church family is here. I'm happy AND content here.

3. Number of Children:
Zero. Never have been big on having my own, though teaching Children's Church was a load of fun.

4. Pets (what kinds and what are their names?):
One "Australian Shepherd mix" as the animal shelter called him, named Dan. Whatever the "mix" is, the dog is disturbingly smart. Sometimes he has outsmarted me.

5. How Long Have You Been Saved? Church Denomination, if you care to share?
Since 2005, and Pentecostal. Oneness Pentecostal, that is, a United Pentecostal Church.

6. Looking For Friendships or Romance, or Both?
Actually neither... I have friends and I don't see a need for a spouse right now in my life. But life is always changing, so maybe I will need a new friend or a spouse soon. Who knows? Not I.

7. Career, Hobbies, Interests? (Expand upon what you answered in the poll.)
My career is line cook at a fast food factory. Yup, big ambition here.

My hobbies are music, computers and chocolate. WARNING: Do not ever get me started on a music topic. I won't shut up for days.

My interests are whatever seems useful. Whatever I'm involved in, it has to have some benefit. I can't exercise just to lose weight, oh no - I have to ride a bike because it gets me where I need to go. I can't bother playing a video game just for amusement, it has to be something with a good story. I seem to be really bad at doing things when I don't see the point to them.

8. What Do You Have to OFFER Someone Else? (Whether a friend or a significant other -- why might they be interested in you?)
I'm logical to a fault, but I also use emotion in my logic. Some people see logic and emotion as mutually exclusive, but I think they work well together.

I am honest enough to admit it when I realize I'm wrong. On the flip side, if you can never admit when you're wrong, I'm out of here.

I'm pretty good with details and can plan out stuff. On the other hand I stink at actually starting anything. Let other people decide what we should do, and I'll make it happen.

I don't have a lot of money, but neither do I have any debt. I know how to not spend money I don't have.

9. What Are You Looking For in A Friend and/Or Romantic Partner?
I'm kinda not. But if one or the other came along, I'd want somebody who was good at the things I stink at, and who can accept help in the areas where I have skill.

10. Do You Think You Could Survive A Zombie Apocalypse? Why or why not?
This depends on many things like how far it has spread and how it spreads - simple contact, blood contact (bite or slash wounds) or other? If it spreads through the air I'd probably already be a zombie. If a zombie has to bite or cut you to infect you I'd survive pretty well. I'm pretty good at making do with what I have.

1.Name/What You Want to Be Called:
  • Just call me Ruby, Rubes or Miss Ruby. They seem to be the names I have been given on this site.

    2. Location (you don't have to be specific; remember, anyone can see this), and Would You Be Willing to Relocate?
  • Australia. I guess if the Lord wanted me to relocate it could happen.

    3. Number of Children:
  • None

    4. Pets (what kinds and what are their names?):
  • None at the moment but I am a cat person. Not really a dog person but where I am living the neighbours have a small dog that comes over and visits and she is a real character so I am warming towards them.

    5. How Long Have You Been Saved? Church Denomination, if you care to share?
  • Saved a long time now. I guess I would be classified as Pentecostal.

    6. Looking For Friendships or Romance, or Both?
  • Friendship unless led by the Lord

    7. Career, Hobbies, Interests? (Expand upon what you answered in the poll.)
  • I like to learn the meaning of the scriptures, have a huge interest in healing(would love for the Lord to use me in that area), used to be very creative (but seem to have lost that in the past few years), walking for exercise, listening to music, going out to eat, coffee, shopping (window shopping that is), drives,conversation..

    8. What Do You Have to OFFER Someone Else? (Whether a friend or a significant other -- why might they be interested in you?)
  • Good listener, sympathetic, encourager, kind, genuine, honest, real

    9. What Are You Looking For in A Friend and/Or Romantic Partner?
  • Good listener, encourager, motivator, genuine, honest, real, good with suggestions, like to discuss scripture with people that don’t put God in a box.

    10. Do You Think You Could Survive A Zombie Apocalypse? Why or why not?
  • Sure, why not!!

The theme parks can indeed be overwhelming but I have spent most of my life living in big cities so I'm kind of use to a chaotic pace. Love seafood though. Rockland is indeed kind of quaint. My impression is that Rockland looks like it was in 1950 and really hasn't changed since.
