Okay, I haven't made one of these in years so here's to hoping i'm doing it right!

For those who have to work during this pandemic, how are you doing? What's keeping you sane? Which promises from God are keeping you anchored cause let's be honest...it ain't easy! I just want to hear what you think and if you have any encouraging words for the rest of us, please share!

Hello.
You know, I guess for me it might be different than for others. As I get ready for my work day, I know that I am Blessed to be among those with work. I don't think tons on the virus and the pandemic. Not to say that I don't take my precautions, as I do. But I leave it to God. For me, I don't go through my day worried. Just do like I did before this all, do my best to listen to him and follow him.

This rings for me as true before this all happened as it does to me now. Something God has placed on my heart for a while now, in different ways, but also directly from the Holy Bible.

"Be Strong and Courageous, do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God will be with you where ever you go." Joshua 1:9

It is worth remembering daily for us all daily, whether it be in these times or future times to come.

Other than that, on my off days, staying busy and doing things I can about the house, including some excercise and found a place to hike last week, helps when i do them.

Kind of you to ask and I pray this, in someway, give hope to you and anyone else that might read it. I pray that you and yours are well and being watched over by God, his Son Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit and his Angel's as well.🙂 🤗

I think work is helping to keep me sane as well. I'm glad to have that much routine, glad to be spared the financial stress or not having income, and glad for something to do other than play games and watch movies ( and hike, I'm still hiking when I can as it's finally getting nice out). I do probably have the advantage that I do my job from home without any in person interaction so there's no stress about being exposed to the virus due to my job.

Beyond that I figure that sooner or later many of us are going to be infected with the virus (barring a miracle) so I'm doing what I can to balance being sensible about making it later for me and those I do come into contact with while trying to continue on with my normalish life as much as possible.

Thank you for sharing! I love the bible verse. It was high on my list when I was in youth group a couple years ago. The one I'm holding on to is Psalm 91. Just like you, I'm not worried or scared either. I know Jesus is holding me and all his children in the palm of his hands.

Thank you for the wonderful prayer as well. I say a big AMEN to it!

Ah movies! I can watch them all day (I try my best not to though). Work helps me as well; keeps me from getting restless. My co-workers are also quite amazing so it makes it easier for me to go! Thank you for sharing!

What video games do you play? My brother games quite a bit, maybe I'll recognize some of the names.

Stay safe, keep trusting in Jesus and enjoy those hikes!

I am just grateful that I am still working so as to provide for my family. I suppose that this is what keeps me sane. Hopefully, this corona crisis will bring people closer to God as they may have to now depend on Him instead of trying to do it all by themselves. God did say that He will neither leave us or forsake us. This will prove to be true for the many and not just the few.

I think that God is counting on this virus to bring people closer together. I don't know what or why I person would think the could anything about this mess.We are destroying the earth. I think that God had to take it into his own hands to correct it. I read that the air quality in CA, has'nt been this clean since the Mexicans owned it! So some very good things have already come of this.

I thank God I am still working as well, although, I must admit, it took me a little while to see the blessing it 😂 I pray God continues to bless the work of your hands and provide for your family!

He has made that promise hasn't he?!? I read the first chapter of the book of Titus a couple of days ago and half of verse 2 stood out to me, "...which God, that cannot lie, promised..." Our God is not man that he should lie, neither the son of man that he should repent.

Thank you for sharing 😊

God had to re-assure us that he does'nt lie? what verse was that from?

am having a good rest. I think for some, work has been exhausting and people are actually doing TOO much. And thats harming Gods creation, when the earth shall have her sabbaths.

I usually work in a school, and I always thought this was a good thing that parents are now taking responisbilty to teach their own children and spend quality time with them instead of dropping them somewhere else for someone else (who they may not even know from a bar of soap) to teach them.

I guess in many ways it could be a good thing.
It could also be a terribly sad thing.

There are children who aren't getting proper nutrition because they aren't at school. (Where there is breakfast and lunch programs that supply them with nutritious food so they have a better chance at learning).

There are children being abuse because they are at home with unstable, cruel, or mentally ill parents. (Pray for these kiddos. 😕)

There are parents at home feeling helpless and stressed because they themselves have learning disabilities (some never diagnosed).
Maybe they are illiterate and can't help their child with their school work.
Maybe now they're struggling with depression and worthless feelings more than they ever have before.

The fact of the matter is a parent can love their child and want the best for them, but not be capable of meeting every single one of their needs.

Just saying...

You have such a lovely heart TamLynn!
I saw a post on my Facebook account about parents taking on that full responsibility of taking care of their children 24/7 and the chances of abuse and violence and malnutrition increasing as a result of staying home everyday and my heart just sank. Believe it or not, I couldn't believe this was actually a thing going on the world. Children don't deserve such cruelty, no one does.

As a number of my friends and family have said, half-jokingly,"Now you all know what it's like to be native american."
Joking aside-other than the scarcity of items in the stores-nothing much has changed for me. I have started going to a local trailer park to help people fix their homes, so that's new.

I think parents need to learn how to look after their own as they get too dependent on schools and daycare to look after their children for them.

none of the children at my school returned to school even though they could at level 3. they are enjoying their holidays. Social workers do identify those who might be being abused as thats their job although some schools dont have social workers on staff.
If it was a boarding school where meals are provided...parents still need to pay for that unless they have scholarships, but boarding schools are where you do get outbreaks. So it is a toss up are children safer at home or school?

Unless you adopt a child, you cant truly become their parent. so no amount of schooling and free lunches would make up for that lack.

Oh yes, Lanolin, parents should learn how to care for their children. The desire to learn should come with the responsibility and the awareness that God has given them authority over little ones that need to be trained and guided and instructed in the way to go. Unfortunately it's not always like that.

But there is now going to be an increased appreciation for teachers and daycares and schools that help support parents in caring for their children. Plus, no one parent knows everything. When God brings my future husband and I together and we have children, I might be able to help them with their math homework but I don't know if I'll be able to help them with geography 😂🤣

I'm glad you're doing okay ArtsieSteph! I'm also glad you like your job (makes it easier to do). What do you do there?!? And also, are you actually an artsy person?!? 😂
