It still comes down to which interpretation we hold to. Every denomination claims that they hold to the clear teaching of Scripture, but the sad reality is they all have different views which are very different.
I believe God saves people from all denominations, He doesn't hold them to account if they have been deceived by false doctrine. So I would never say that one is saved by possessing the correct interpretation.

Everyone's understanding and interpretation continues to evolve as the learn more. Even Bible scholars discover a new meaning to a verse they may have thought that they understood perfectly for many years.
We could easily spend our whole lives studying the Bible and there would still be so much to learn. So I don't believe that salvation has anything to do with a correct interpretation of scripture.

I believe salvation is all of the Lord, from start to finish and we can't add anything to His work.
We cannot be lacks and accept what someone else says the bible means. Ignorance will not be an excuse. All will be accountable to the truth found only in the word, Jesus said so Himself. (John 12:48)

Notice what Jude 3 states. It says in order to find the common salvation (meaning there is ONLY one truth) go back and see what was first delivered to the saints (apostles/disciples). Jesus said the NT message/instructions would begin in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:45-47) And, that is exactly where Peter gave the initial instructions, that included repentance and remission of sin, after the Holy Ghost was sent to dwell in people. It is found in Acts 2:38, and confirmed in others.

Jude 3
Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

Luke 24:45-47
Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

This isn't a point of contention but I was taught that "the faith which was once delivered unto the saints" was the ability to face death (even torturous death) faithfully...as did Stephen...full of the Holy Ghost... which happens through [much] prayer in the spirit as Jude 17-21 suggests.

But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; [18] How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. [19] These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. - Jude 1:17-21 KJV

Psychos? LOL! While the fact does remain that there is abuse within certain denominations I would suggest that believing God no longer is personal is equally disturbing. For that matter, somebody show me ANY denomination that does not have problems. Or better yet, let's call it what it really is. Sin
So it's OK to sin because all denominations do it?

Was the day of Pentecost demonic cause they all spoke languages they hadn’t learned and the outcome was called the HS by all? Your conclusion doesn’t match the Bible.
No, but they were heavenly language, not human. Demons speak human languages because that's where they roam.

That's not what I read...
And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.

Certainly, you place truth above feelings? What if Jesus held your views?
Who's to say that He doesn't.

I'm not talking about my own feelings but the feelings of others. I believe that is called being considerate. I don't believe that there is anything spiritually wrong with being considerate.

The thing is Dave, I am trying very hard to have a conversation with you but you refuse to participate by neglecting to answer any questions, resorting instead of giving scripture that has absolutely nothing to do with what is being discussed.

Everyone that disagrees with you, in your opinion, hates Jesus and probably needs to go to hell. I find your attitude and forum decorum to be toxic and it is pointless to try further to have a decent conversation with you. The truth is, responding to your posts is a waste of my precious time.

I have come to the conclusion that your really don't know scripture very well at all and have no desire to actually learn what certain scripture means. No need to reply because I will not be responding to you further.

We may enter His Presence through the blood of Jesus Christ and He is our Mediator. But many claim they hear from God, yet when their words that they claim are from God contradict Scripture then we reject it.

Isaiah 8:20 NKJV
[20] To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

when God spoke to the Apostles and Prophets, He did in such a way that it was not filtered through the remaining flesh/old nature. There is no indication today that when a person ‘hears’ from God, it is as Good as Scripture. Rather, we are to test all things by Scripture (even if some consider Scripture an idol).

Acts 17:11 NKJV
[11] These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
I did a search for "enter his presence" and could not find a single reference inthe New Testament. All were the old testament. That is a modern concept that appeals very much to the pride. IT used to be we went to God in prayer. Now we "enter his presence." The old humility is replaced by prideful self-assurance of us being special. I believe God's presence comes when God chooses, not when we decide we want some.

Dave you need to stop talking about things you have no conception of. You already are in hot water with the mod and on the verge of being banned not because of your views but your manner of posting. And I warned you this would happen if you didi not change how you act and again before it is to late I urge you to learn to debate as an actual believer not as a accuser.

You know the fruits of the spirit are love peace joy and patience yes? but what are the fruits of the devil? acusation name calling being incredibly rude and everything you have done and said in this forum has done no one any good not you and not anyone conversing with you.

If I was a mod I would have banned you already not because of your beliefs but in the manner in which you act towards others and everyone here has been pateint with you they have tried over and over to have a actual conversation with you they have given you wise council and insight yet you retaliate and avoid questions ignore scriptures and only boast of your own knowledge without having any wisdom to take the insight of others.

You have shown such arrogance and malice towards everyone here and I will not sit back and let you do this I will go to robo op myself if I have to I would rather not have to do that and have you instead learn and actually debate but you do not want to cross the line with me when it comes to the treatment of everyone here.

I have many precious friends here and many here have helped me to grow and mature as a believer and even the ones who I disagree with are family to me so if you do not stop acting like a foolish child then make no mistake I will not hesitate to take action

God most definitely speaks through His word since the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and testifies of the TRUTH of the word but the simple fact there, is that people appear to have different applications for that truth. I would suggest we do not have any idols of course, but the testimony of man seems to be the idol for many these days.
I agree with your estimation. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Here is what I had in mind...

Ephesians 2:18 (KJV) For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Hebrews 10:19-22 (KJV) Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Thanks crossnote for taking the time to answer this with scripture.

None of that promises that we can enter his presence at will. It says we have access to him. it says we can draw near. Like I said, we used to say to the Lord, "we come before you Lord" not requiring Him to grant us his presence which is not the same thing. We come. Not He comes at our demand or approach.

It is not of great consequence except we are setting up believers to expect God shows up at their calling. Instead of the scripure that says,

"When you said to me "seek my face" my heart said to thee, O Lord, your face will I seek" we teach,
"when I said to you, O Lord, I am coming into your presence now, your heart said to me, "I come as expected."

I am only sorry because I have known the real presence of the Lord where He came and I was neither expecting it nor did I boldly come. He decided to grant me audience as a Sovereign and I was marked by the interview and changed forever. It was most remarkable and none of it was from me. This is what I would wish for my brethren and am firmly convinced that if his children think they can more or less expect Him to show up at their desire, He will not do so out of love for them. IF they are satisfied imaging they are before the throne, then that is all they will get is my view.

I agree he doesn’t show up at the flick of a finger.....i always find, when he does it is always unexpected......another thing ,when I say how things are going to work out to the Lord..they never do....it’s the complete opposite....now I don’t even bother...I just say ok Lord over to you.

I have been praying for a car for over two yrs....I wait on God for it....last night my son surprised me by saying he is going to buy me one...once again completely unexpected.

What have I done to warrant being banned other than to contradict those I can prove are teaching false doctrine. It's not being able to genuinely counter my position tied to Historic Christianity that wants me gone.

How do you prove someone wrong without making them look bad? Jesus couldn't do it. If you love someone and truth is as precious as it is, it's worth the hurt feelings. Plus challenging each other is a perfect way to learn.

Define the word "apostle" using scripture as a reference? Show a example of the apostles working out the meaning.

What were some of the reasons Jesus rebuked them over and over. What was he trying to teach them by repeating the matter?(Luke and Mark 9 ) He revealed to them when he rebuked them that they knew not what manner of spirit there were of.

What manner is that? The manner that makes apostles into gods in the likeness of dead corrupted mankind, as if God was served by their corrupted hands as a will ?
