"Antichrist": Broad Deception By Narrow Definition

Therefore substituting the pope or the papacy for the MIRACLE WORKING Jewish Antichrist is sheer folly.

Orthodox Jews are presently anticipating the coming of their "true Messiah". Since they have rejected Christ as their true Messiah, they will be welcoming a false Jewish Messiah, coming in his own name. He will dazzle the world with His miracles, and the whole world will worship him (Revelation 13).

Antichrist was to arise among the ashes of the fallen Roman Empire way back in the SIXTH CENTURY according to the prophecies of Daniel...Satan's impersonation of Jesus will be just before Jesus comes, obviously.

The identity of the antichrist has no bearing on the timing of the gathering of the church. It is after the gathering of the church that the first seal will be opened which is represented by that rider on the white horse, the antichrist.

Regarding the pope being the antichrist, you are close, but I lean towards one of the future popes as playing the part of the second beast who is the false prophet. The pope of that time will be the one who will perform those miracles, signs and wonders on behalf of the first beast which is the anitchrist and will also be the head of that one world religious system. The purpose of the miralces, signs and wonders will be to deceive the inhabitants of the earth and to support the antichrist who will be proclaiming himself to be God or anything that is called God.

Satan wants to kick God off the throne and be God...yet when Christians hear "antichrist", their view is always limited to a bad dude that wants to oppose Christ, even though the Bible in their hands tells them Satan wants to take the place of God, stand in the place of God, etc. We either are going to have a limited view of the word and thus have a limiteless pool of candidates for Antichrist, or we're going to have a BIBLICAL view of the word and understand that the papacy is the prophesied Antichrist which Satan uses to be "in place of", "in stead of", in behalf of", "for" Christ at the same time he sets himself up "against" Christ.

This interpretation sounded good 400 years ago but by now certainly you have started to realize that it is dated. The RCC lost its place in the world and the world moved on.

They certainly demonstrated that spirit of antichrist that has been in the world since John wrote about it, nevertheless the prophecy of Daniel that Jesus said would be the signal to look up, and the prophecy that Paul said would happen in the Day of the Lord which had not come yet when he wrote (even though there were many antichrist spirits) this prophesy is still future an it turned out that it was not the Pope which is today a laughing stock to the world and has no power over any nation nor will he ever again. That ship has sailed. The world has moved on.

Both the Vatican and the British Royal Family were part of the Roman Empire, both have their authority at church, one in the Catholic Church, and one in the Protestant Church. Not saying one or both are the one in question, but it's good to keep your eyes open.

Depends on who you think I'm referring to. Lay Catholics who love Jesus as I'm sure you do? Catholics entire goal is that everyone in this world find's the Lord. Is that a bad thing? And you are right. I lived in the secular world. (As I NO doubt you have). I Thank God that I was baptized.
