How trustworthy are the futurists?

1981 Chuck Smith - The founder of Calvary Chapel predicted the generation of 1948 would be the last generation, and that the world would end by 1981. Smith identified that he "could be wrong" but continued to say in the same sentence that his prediction was "a deep conviction in my heart, and all my plans are predicated upon that belief."

1982 Pat Robertson - In late 1976 on his 700 Club TV programme, Robertson predicted that the end of the world would come in this year.

1988 Edgar Whisenant predicted in his book 88 Reasons Why the Rapture Could Be in 1988 that the rapture of the Christian Church would occur between September 11 and 13, 1988. After his September predictions failed to come true, Whisenant revised his prediction date to October 3.

1994 Harold Camping predicted the rapture would occur on 6 September 1994. When it failed to occur he revised the date to the 29th of September and then to the 2nd October.

1999 James Lindsay - this preacher predicted the great tribulation would begin before 2000.

Jan 1, 2000 Falwell foresaw God pouring out his judgement on the world on this day.

April 6, 2000 James Harmston - the leader of the True and Living Church of Jesus Christ of Saints of the Last Days predicted the Second Coming of Christ would occur on this day.

May 21, 2011 After several unsuccessful predictions in 1994 and 1995, Camping predicted that the rapture and devastating earthquakes would occur on 21 May 2011, with God taking approximately 3% of the world's population into Heaven, and that the end of the world would occur five months later on October 21.

Apr 2014 John Hagee The so-called blood moon prophecy, first predicted by Mark Biltz in 2008 and then by John Hagee in 2014. These Christian ministers claim that the tetrad in 2014 and 2015 may represent the beginning of the Messianic end times. Some Mormons in Utah combined the September 2015 blood moon with other signs, causing a large increase in sales of preppers survival supplies.

These are just a tiny percentage of all the predictions your side has gotten wrong, just since the 1980s. The list is massive. Your side has NEVER been right. My side has never been proven wrong!! Do you know why they are all wrong? Because Christ returned in 70 AD to that evil generation, just as He promised He would. You missed the second coming just as the Jews missed the first coming.

I CERTAINLY BELIEVE AFTER THE CHURCH-AGE IS FINISHED, THEN GOD GOES BACK TO START THE 70TH WEEK OF DANIEL, AND IT WILL RUN A WEEK OF YEARS.

Interesting: You pick out a few radical "futurists" who set dates and accuse the rest of us of being a part of their paltry theology!

Well, I did a little digging and found this interesting prediction made right here on CC on Nov. 21, 2015:

I found this as part of the opening post in a thread called "ISIS could be the Beast of the Sea of Revelation 13" that was given by a Mr. PlainWord. So, it seems that not just "side", but you yourself have made some predictions. ISIS never took over all Muslim nations and is just sort of fizzling out. And by your time frame the "Man of Sin" has now been revealed - Who is he? And I think we would now be in the last (seventh year) of your time period. Hmmmmmmmm???????

No Evangelical Individual that I know personally, SETS DATES.

We believe in the PRETRIB, because ALL OF THE OTHERS OPTIONS fixed Dates can be establish because Antichrist makes a 7 year Peace treaty with ISRAEL. Therefore the ONLY OPTION when NO ON KNOWS THE DATE OR THE HOUR, is before that 7 Year Peace Treaty BEGINS.


Mark 13:32-33 (NCV)
32 “No one knows when that day or time will be, not the angels in heaven, not even the Son. Only the Father knows.
33 Be careful! Always be ready, because you don’t know when that time will be.


The only reason for the Angels in Heaven NOT TO KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE, is JEWISH WEDDING TRADITIONS. Only the FATHER has the right to determine when the SON has fully prepared the NEW DWELLING PLACE for HIS Bride. Until HIS FATHER APPROVES, the SON KEEPS Building up the NEW DWELLING PLACE.

Matthew 24:36-37 (NKJV)

37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

You do not KNOW much about what Evangelicals Teach and Believe, do you ? ? ?

Just wild Theories and very little of them are actually true about our Beliefs.

BACK TO REPORTING THE NEWS ABOUT THE THIRD TEMPLE.

Christ is here reigning in temples not with human hands the believer .The second coming towards the end is still doing it work leading towards the last day. We are in the last days.. The time of reformation came 2,00 years ago. all things written in the law and the prophets are still restoring the souls of mankind our daily bread.

One thing I would suggest those who did make calculated guesses that turned out to be false. They made to lightly the law of faith ( unknowable or not revealed law of faith)


1 Thessalonians 5: 1-6 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. It would seem the verse above . Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

Set them as it seems in a faithless wonderment and began looking for a answer. As those who do seek after signs and wonders gospel . The evil generation, the generation of Adam that have no faith The pagan religious foundation "out of sight out of mind" no God. . fools. .

Christ will come like a thief in the night, as Christian we can watch having been made aware but like Noah no man was revealed the last day . Not even the Son of man, Jesus. Again he desires we walk by faith. the unseen eternal. Not after what the eyes see the temporal.

I am not a Preterist but you do have a point. Another thing I chuckle at is how the Sanhedrin has been reconvened in of all places Tiberias Isreal.

Scripture makes where the true temple mount important.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Bottom line here is if it is important enough to God Himself to speak of the antichrst as sitting in the temple of God in the Word of God which He has given us to study, we should also consider it very important. We should also notice that the word "God" in verse 4 is capitalized, which tells us that the scripture is not talking about a temple built to a pagan god but is in fact talking about a New Rebuilt temple of God which will be rebuilt at the site of the last temple of God which is the where the western wall and previous temple of God were. IE the temple mount in Jerusalem. And that is why it is important.

Didn't I just PROVE IT ? ? ?

On that video Treasures Unearthed, Part 2, did you notice AnaRina Heymann, the Director of Jerusalem Watch, admitted the Jews are praying at the wrong wall, and she is Jewish. There is starting to be an awakening in Israel.

Simple Logic, If the sole Purpose for the Third Temple is to fulfill the Antichrist's plans to sit in the Temple of GOD, Perhaps GOD WOULD PREFER THAT TEMPLE BE ON THE WRONG SITE, when Satan's Antichrist sits down. Do you know the only seat in the TEMPLE is the Mercy Seat in the Holy of Holies.

Both groups let their guard down and stopped watching,That is one thinks it's all in the past while the other thinks it takes place after they are raptured, Whats the difference...

Chuck Smith was a radical? I bet all those at Calvary Chapel would take exception to that. I used to listen to him on the radio all the time. He was about as mainstream as you will find on most issues. John Hagee is also well accepted by mainstream evangelicals. But when it comes to their futurists beliefs, they were and are all wrong. I wasn't a preterist back in 2015. At the time I thought I was on to something. I have to credit a few people on CC for my eschatological conversion, that plus I read Josephus. Josephus brings Revelation to life and I doubt he ever saw John's book. Once you study history it is amazing how accurate all those predictions in the OT and NT were concerning their end of the age.

Big difference, like east is from the west.
