Yeah, well I don't go to a Reformed Church so my only opportunity to hear the gospel came from humanists and legalists and those who worship their own wills.

Thankfully, there's this thing called the Bible that I can read for myself and not just take the word of "scholars" such as yourself.
You say you CAN read the Bible but by your show of Biblical ignorance you don’t take advantage of the opportunity to do so. On another note, I encourage you to attend worship services. Fellowship is rewarding.

Well good for you. At least everyone now knows that you are fully committed to a FALSE GOSPEL (TULIP). But you should also know that all false gospels are accursed (Gal 1). And when you add Catholic Amillennialism to the mix, you are bound to fall into grave errors.

At the same time, no Bible-believing Christian can argue with the Five Solas. But God alone receives glory when the true Gospel of God is preached and propagated.

JOHN 3
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Well that is interesting, You conveniently left out the verses about being born again of john 3:3-13... it's all part of the same conversation. Therefore which comes first? Being Born Again or Believing?

Also, hermenuetics demands, that we harmonize these statements with the ones proceeding them in John's Gospel.

(Joh 1:10-13) He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not. (national Israel). But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, even to them that believe on his name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The last portion of Verse 13b, is the governing principle over all believers. Not out of blood, excludes naturally birth or linage. Not out of the will of the flesh, excludes the will of our own. Not of the will of man, excludes the influence of the will of any man upon another.

This overriding principle explains who the whosoevers are, that are believing in Christ, in John 3:16. To believe otherwise, is to either intentionally ignore certain parts of God's Word or intentionally attempt to deceive oneself about the true simple meanings of words, derived from contextual study.

If we were not given a choice then Jesus would not have invited us to come to Him as seen in Matthew 11:28-30. He would have simply stated some folks are required to come to Him and have no say so in the matter.

Just opened the Bible for a little reading and began with the following:

“Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.”

Very refreshing to read this while in the midst of people who push heretical calvinist dogma.

So true, the same "canned" responses almost verbatim.

Accuse of .........................Universalism, Pelaganism, Arminianism, freewillers, denying the sovereignty of God, taking credit for your salvation... etc.,
Catch phrases just like Mormons, Jehovah's Witness, 7th Dayers etc........This thread is a joke....one cannot logically and biblically reason with people that change word definitions, deny context etc....

Respectfully, I think what Grandpa is suggesting, is that you are making your eternal deliverance your choice by accepting his offer, when, in actuality, God never offered you a choice. It was God's will that Jesus was to be a sacrifice to pay for the sins of his elect. Jesus's offering was to God, for God's acceptance, and not to man for man's acceptance. Jesus died only for those that God gave him, and every one of them will live in heaven with him, without losing any of them. John 6:37-40.

John 15:16, Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you,.......and ordained (make, purpose= Greek meaning) you.

While I am in John 15, I might call your attention to verse 18; If the "world" hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. This is not the same "world" as found in John 3:16, God loved the "world" of those who believe, and only his sheep hear his voice,(to believe), and he knows them, and they follow him. John 10:27.
Another misplaced, out of context verse to peddle error....JESUS WAS SPEAKING of CHOSING HIS APOSTLES and to prove this does not APPLY TO SALVATION LIKE YOU are implying by your Calvinistic twist....

HAVE NOT I CHOSEN YOU 12 AND YET ONE OF YOU IS A DEVIL!

You guys have absolutely NO contextual honesty!

Always with respect, Jesus, in John 15:16, is speaking directly to His disciples specifically about them, not the world or elect.

When Jesus is talking to a group of people specifically about them, you see His words going beyond that specific group of people. However when Jesus uses the word world in John: 3:16, you minimize the word world to mean only some specific people.
AS a general rule, most all of the bible is directed to God's regenerated people, and is given for the purpose of giving them instructions on how he wants them to live their lives as they sojourn here in this world. Some scriptures are God speaking about the actions of the world that hates him, but they are still directed to his disciples. for their learning.

Eternal salvation by God's grace is not an offer to be accepted. It was God's will that Jesus would be a sacrifice for the sins of his elect (those that God gave him). The sacrifice was not offered to man for man's acceptance, but to God for God's acceptance.
@Oncefallen this post right here is blasphemous.......and how this cult can continue to be allowed to post is beyond me.......!

This scripture reeks of ignorance....the following verse was spoken to the Pharisees, people of Jesus' day......and was directed at LOST MEN.....

Jesus said, "SEARCH the scriptures, for they are THEY which testify of me."

If what you say above is a hard fast rule then the above statement would have been ignorant and there would be NO NEED OF THE LAW to condemn the world as guilty and or direct/guide men to Christ.

MANY ARE CALLED, but few CHOSEN <--BECAUSE AT THE END OF THE DAY MEN MUST CHOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do not have a very high expectation of how well you are versed in the scriptures, but if you think that John 6:37-40 is only talking about his Apostles, my expectation of how well you are versed in the scriptures has dropped drastically.

The Bible is afforded to everyone because God is impartial.

Iconoclast has been here since 2017.

You got here when?

Funny how new free willers join this site and come directly to this thread.

Never heard of you on here before this thread. Never heard of a few others, just like you, before this thread.
Have not seen any of you make a scriptural case to comment on.
Just foolish posts of unlearned persons,
Try scripture instead Isa8:20

I really could care less what you think....he was speaking to his apostles and chosing them.....and your view of my knowledge = less than nothing....a man that skews context, changes word definitions, denies truth and refuses to be open to the actual truth has no impact with their view of what I believe.
