For me it’s:

-The shack
-Veggietales (I think this series is the best in Christian media overall, haven’t seen it in a long time but I will always recommend it ^_^)

The Shack was horrendous. Superficially a lot of Christians jumped on it as being so wonderful but once people actually paid attention to what it Actually said many turned away from their support of it.

I don't know of any Christian tv shows. And no movies that are really that good. A few came close but didn't quite get there.

Well I haven’t seen the shack in a long while, like a year, but yeah I understand where you are coming from with that movie, I know it has flaws, I’m just glad it’s not a “Pure Flix” movie. Basically everything from Pure Flix and Kirk Cameron’s movies, I do not want to watch them. I have seen reviews and have read about a good amount of these movies, and I think they just completely miss what God and the Bible are truly about. There was this one Christian movie I remember liking, it was based on a true story on how this kid drowned and they all thought he was going to die, but the town prayed and he came back from his coma, I only saw the ending section, like when he is about to wake up, with my mom and we both loved what we saw, despite not seeing the full movie. But besides that stuff, that’s about it when it comes to Christian movies for me.

Might get some heat for this, but so be it. I still think

is a good movie. Some might say it's not a Christian movie. But IMO, from an artistic or story viewpoint, it's still the best movie about Jesus. Or the best one that I've seen.

Hmm, I actually haven’t heard about that movie but from you said about it, I’m interested in seeing it, sounds great.

I thought the movie "Risen" was pretty good, told from the viewpoint of a Roman centurion. Of course, it wasn't Biblically accurate, but it showed differing viewpoints of the apostles, and their relationship with Jesus. It also has "Jesus" played by a guy that, to me, is probably very close to what Jesus actually looked like.

Also, the movie "I Can Only Imagine" was pretty great, in my opinion.

this is Jesus in "Risen"

I've not a clue about pure flix nor any movies Kirk Cameron makes. But I feel I can safely assume there's enough cheese to make a big pizza.

Joseph king of dreams was going to be my only offering to this thread. Prince of Egypt would be one I'd potentially recommend were it not for the "playing with the big boys now" song. It's like a showcase for the gods of ancient Egypt. Perhaps for most people that's not a big deal, but it depends on your struggles.

The same way I have an issue with showing some "really bad guy" that the "good guy" is against and in the process opening up deeds of darkness to be on display which is unscriptural.

Anyway, Joseph king of dreams I may watch again someday. The song when he is in prison "you know better than I" has been on my mind lately and I think it has a positive message that a believer could "repurpose" productively.

Also, I was a part of a choir that sang the ending song in the prince of Egypt. "There can be miracles..." sung by about 50 people in my church. We went to a competition "Got talent" and it was pretty powerful. I loved the Hebrew in it. We got 2nd place, alas.

They changed the lyrics before the film and that is worth a closer look though.

I also liked veggie tales. "God is bigger than the boogeyman" is a good song. When I'm messing up pretty bad (allowing bitterness to trip me up) I get one of the Jonah songs going through my mind and it does bring up the book of Jonah "...he did not get the point"

There's a question in the book of Jonah that is rather poignant for me.

A lot of the songs are nonsense and the guy that created it sort of wondered whether it even built up the church in hindsight which is also worth a look if you are interested. I myself am interested in creating productive educational programs for children, but it's difficult to not be too "cheesy" and at the same time be "enthralling" and not step over/straddle any lines.

Edit: Also puppet shows are something anyone can make and post to YT. I would be interested in voicing a children's show if anyone were interested. Puppets are pretty interactive. That little box is just so mysterious ;)

Care to highlight clip this vid a bit? 67 mins is pretty long. What stuck out to you about it?
I once watched "being elmo" so I'm not opposed but I'm sure some would appreciate it.

I think clipping is helpful to get feedback also for people that don't have an hour to spend due to interest, etc.

If you don't, I'll attempt to do so whenever I end up watching it :)

I am kind of a metalhead tho so i do not pay too much attention if no one is screaming his guts out or something like that.-lol

Oh yeah, sorry, I just sorta leave videos without explaining because I figured everyone has time for videos, I once watched a 2 and a 1/2 hour YouTube video, lol. But anyway, the summary:

Basically the video talks about how Big Idea started up, background information on the creator of Big Idea, Phil Vischer, and basically how Big Idea became huge, before its downfall, the downfall of Big Idea, and where Veggietales currently is right now.

the show your church members make themselves...online church. lol

I mean seriously. Its on every week. Grab your grape juice and crackers and sit down and pray. Nobodys acting, its all real life.
sometimes you get bloopers, but they are always forgiven.
